Popular urban leisure spot King Saint Steven park (Szent István Park)  is located on the Danube embankment, offering great views of the Margaret Island and the Buda Hills. It was opened on the site of a former parquet factory in 1928. Among its statues is one honouring Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who saved tens of thousands of Jews from the Nazis, many from this neighbourhood. There is a wonderful playground for children with lot of interesting toys, a basketball court, a paid toilet for visitors, drinking fountain, seats for the elderly and other visitors. In good weather, events and concerts are held here, but it’s also a great location for a romantic stroll, a picnic. The park is surrounded by elegant Bauhaus façades, which hide the first penthouse flats in Budapest. For atmosphere, pop into the adjoining Dunapark Café, opened in 1938.

A well-maintained and beautiful park. It has many functions. It has a playground, a dog run in one corner, many public sculptures, a rose garden, community composting, walking paths, benches, tables, free toilets, etc. The proximity of the Danube also enhances the atmosphere of the park.

A beautifully maintained park, good for short walk, and has benches and a nice lawn for a picnic or exercising. It also has its own playground. A big plus is that dogs are not allowed in here (but they have their own dedicated area right next to the park).

Great park for walking, talking and playing with the kids. Huge shady sandpit area with a ship and slide in the middle. The roses are sublime when in season. It’s a very safe and friendly neighbourhood park. Plus clean free toilets and water fountains.

Beautiful long walk area, plenty of seating, adjacent Danube river (only skyline views of Margaret Island). Many amazing coffee shops, just one street back (find the pistachio rolls, yum). Dozens of rose varieties spring forth early buds(mid March), will be a riot of colour, & hopefully fragrance soon. Has long enclosed dog walk area too.

Big space, kids can run around. There's a playground next to it. Trees give nice shade, while the water cools the air around.
