The ticket lasts the evening so you don't need to worry about rushing, especially with the lovely hot drinks and food on the side of the rink. We went here on the first of january. Bought tickets in advance, which is reccomended, and waited patiently in line. I think it took us about 30 to 40 minutes after arriving to actually go in, rent the skates and enter the ice. Most of the staff spoke english :) People with their own skates were allowed to skip the line, so save yourself some time by bringing them yourself if you have skates!
