Epic!! Really affordable entry fees the skate rental too. Lockers included in price, facilities are very much up to date. Plenty of seating around the ice rink, buffet selling drinks, snacks and sandwiches. This was my first time ever to try skating at age of fifty and I loved it. I have to say it was epic.

My wife and I have been to this place twice. Last year in the month of May, where we had a nice dinner and watched the lake and the castle through the windows of the dining room. This year we were at the end of December. It was magical. Lots of skaters and even bigger queues to skate. In fact, I couldn't even believe that so many people were skating in one place. On the other hand, the New Year fair with its offer and lights. Magical.

Such an amazing experience and a must-do winter activity in Budapest. The whole organization and the place itself is wonderful. People were very mindful of those who are not as good at iceskating, and they even have a separate rink for children. The ticket price for off peak hours which are from Monday to Thursday for two adults were 5000 HUF or 12.30 euros for both. City park ice rink works from 9 am to 1 pm, and then from 5 pm to 9 pm. You can rent skates for the price of 3000 HUF (around 7.5 euros), and you leave 2000 HUF deposit for the skates which you receive back once you return them. Wouldn't recommend the Bubble tea tho!

Great ice rink! A lot of space (a lot of people either, though), but what's the most important — such a beautiful place! If you purchase your tickets online, you don't need to stand in a long queue at the entrance

(Translated by Google) We actually wanted to go ice skating, but were forced to use a pedal boat. Mess. This pedal boat was also a car (Ferrero). Nonetheless, we tried to make the best of it and kicked the boat on the port side. Scouring the Hungarian Atlantic, we put our Gorch Fock into the lake (and the ducks). Dangerous waterfalls were mastered and unclimbed sea passages were negotiated. Heard of pathetic mosquitoes. Other bathers and the local fauna (Ent) mistreated with a yellow projectile found. To our advantage, this was no longer prosecuted. One of the highlights of my trip to Budapest! It's a must visit for people who love ice skating. I payed 5000 huf for the entrance (student discount) + skate rental, and you also have to leave a 5 euro deposit when you get your skates. It included free lockers plus you can stay there as long as you want

One of the most amazing place in whole Budapest. In the summer this place offer boating and in the winter the huge ice skating ring is laid here. One of the great attractions for tourism in Budapest and also for locals citizens. Been there quite lots of time although I don’t know skating too much. Good place to hangout with your friends and families in your free time. Tickets are quite moderate and affordable for almost everyone. Worthy place to visit and enjoy your day.

A very beautiful park to go for a walk! There is the Dracula castle that is a replica of Transilvania Castle. If you wondering where the word Dracula came from….. it came from the Dracul that means little dragon. In modern romanian language means the devil though.

No boating today as it was skating time. We didn't expect how busy it was going to be, however it didn't take long for the queue to go down and we were in. The ticket lasts the evening so you don't need to worry about rushing, especially with the lovely hot drinks and food on the side of the rink. The skating itself was quite busy with mixed ability skaters so you did have to move around people quite a bit but it did not detract from the skating. It was fantastic, anyone considering going, it is a must, skating with the castle behind was a pleasure.

Certainly the best rink I have ever done. It's huge, at night there's a dj. The atmosphere is great. It is really an activity to do!

Perfect choice on a winter holiday, for beginners and experts alike. Beautiful, inviting scenery and the ice is gigantic! Plenty of options for snacks and hot drinks for everyone.

Great place, live DJ, snacks available inside, awesome experience, huge ice. It is possible to buy tickets on- line and there are lockers inside where you can leave your belongings. I came at 3:30 pm and I waited for 30 minutes to get in, but people kept coming and the line was longer by the minute, so I was lucky. There are people in blue jackets and they give you a card for the locker. It's really crowded by the lockers. And people keep coming all the time. It was open from 4-9pm. But ice is nicer in the beginning and it's too crowded later in the evening. So, I recommend coming early.

I recommend to have your own skates, it will obviously be more convenient and cheaper to ride this way. entrance for one costs 10.000 and 2.000 deposit. a very large ice rink and it is convenient that you can eat at the same time. you are given a card for your locker.

The experience was incredible. The view of the castle as you’re skating is incomparable. If you’re an inexperienced skater you can even rent an adorable Bobby the seal to help you for a mere 500huf. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to as they stop being given out an hour before closing.

  • 5/5 Cillian F. 2 years ago on Google
Great experience. Gets crowded on the weekend evenings, so book your tickets online to speed things up. Beware of silly teens!

  • 3/5 Patrícia D. 2 years ago on Google
Unbeatable location, but disappointing service. Bobby rental is closed one hour earlier than the ice rink itself. Announcements that you are to leave the ice rink start 30 minutes before closing. Not pleasant.

The best place for ice skating in Budapest. Relatively cheap, and they have plenty pair of ice skate for renting.

Great winter activity! I discovered the best thing on my last visit, A skating coach! It's just 800ft for 50 minutes and you get a cube if you are a scared beginner like me. Located at the city center and easily accessible. It's also close to the heros square so you can squeeze in some sight seeing before/after skating. There are cute cafes and restaurants around for some post skating hot chocolate and snacks. Avoid Sunday evenings and other peak periods if you hate queues.

Little artificial lake with a small shop that rents out pedal boats in summer. Friendly service at the boat rental shop (go behind the building to rent), but bathroom staff at ice cream shop was very rude. Great view of nearby castle, but a limited range to go to with the boat.

A great place to spend time with family and friends. You can take the skates there, but you need a 2000 fr deposit in cash for that. First skates I got were really bad, couldn't skate, only got hurt. Asked them for another pair, they quickly changed them and them everything got better.

Beautiful place at Budapest, easily reachable by underground, turistic places are nearby. You can ice skate outside on a huge area next to Vajdahunyad castle, Heroes Square and Museums. There are pissibilities to eat, drink, rent ice skate. Facility is well equipped also with lockers. Recommended to purchase ticket online!

  • 4/5 Francesca S. 4 months ago on Google
The staff lacked friendliness, and be prepared with cash for a deposit when renting skates. Despite that, the ice rink itself was stunning.

  • 5/5 Saurabh 4 years ago on Google
It is a huge ice rink with stalls all around for drinking and eating. The place has a live dj to make it more fun and it is a very well located Ice rink. We had one of the best hot chocolate ever in one of the stalls. Check out my pics and video to get the vibe of the place.

It’s beautiful location in the prime location of the city Budapest and has activities for all seasons and kids have great time equally. Highly recommended in winter to see the small boating spot turns into outdoor ice staking area.

We went here on the first of january. Bought tickets in advance, which is reccomended, and waited patiently in line. I think it took us about 30 to 40 minutes after arriving to actually go in, rent the skates and enter the ice. Most of the staff spoke english :) People with their own skates were allowed to skip the line, so save yourself some time by bringing them yourself if you have skates!

  • 5/5 Nina T. 1 year ago on Google
Just awesome! But if you're new to figure skating, please be aware that their boots are more hockey than figure skates. Toe pick doesn't grit and you might find yourself out of control. Otherwise, what a beauty! A castle as a backdrop, massive rink that you can see from the airplane. Food trucks in the perimeter for when you needs snacks or mulled wine.

Terrible experience and never even got to ice rink. I have only given 1 star as I had to to post. Unfortunately it has spoilt our holiday. We had online tickets. We arrived at 5pm on 9.12.2023 and it was chaos. There was no organization. It was shambles. People were pushing in everywhere. At 6pm I asked member of staff what was happening and how long we would be waiting he shrugged his shoulder and walked away. We then left. We have now wasted money and we are very disappointed. I have emailed my concerns and awaiting reply

Great place to go ice-skating. Lots of fun and was a highlight from our trip to Budapest. Can get busy and lockers can fill, but there's other places where things can be placed. Very big and nice scenery as well

Good location, bad lake smell, and a bit overpriced for me as a townie. Probably good for tourits, but not for the people of Budapest. Staff was okay, the boat was okay I guess.

Great fun skating outdoors in the fresh air. The only thing was that when we bought our tickets we weren't told that the session had already started so we only got to skate for about 45mins. It was still a lot of fun though.

Best winter activity in Budapest. It can be very busy but worth to wait, super fun. After ice skating just wonder around Heroes Square.

Great plan if you are in Budapest for winter. Ice skating between castles and palaces is amazing and a must. The indications are not that clear, they never tell you that you have to leave a cash deposit for renting the skates, while you can pay at the entrance with credit card.

The Budapest City Park Ice Rink and Boating is a fantastic part of Budapest around the winter season. There is a huge section of the lake that is frozen off and tons of tourists and locals come together to enjoy a night (or day) of ice skating. Although I was unable to join in the festivities, it looked like a blast. There are plenty of stands nearby for food and drink if your choose not to ice skate. Overall, I highly recommend the Budapest City Park Ice Rink and Boating!

For everyone who loves ice skating, this is the perfect place! The ice rink is absolutely huge. It is also right next to the vajdahunyad castle and therefore gives you an amazing view while you're skating. But I also have to say that there were really many people at the ice rink. Also, definitely buy your tickets online beforehand, so you can just skip the massive lines.
