The owners are heart warming, deliver you generous portions with a smile and will adjust to anything you need. This place deserves 5 stars ❤️

Love this Mom and Pop Thai shop. The owners are so sweet and we love the interior style. It’s a small place with just 5 small tables upstairs and a bigger table downstairs. The food was amazing! Not that spicy for no Thai people!

My favorite eating place in all Budapest! ❤️ This is a small, family owned restaurant which offers amazing Thai food for more than reasonable prices. The owners and staff are very nice and friendly and you can see their dedication and passion for good food in every dish. There is a certain care for details (plating, finishing touches, flavor balance) that makes this place a hidden gem and an amazing experience. They also serve everything really quickly. Now, i'm not from Budapest, just visiting sometimes. But for me, (at least) one stop at Im-oon is always mandatory when i'm in town. I cannot reccomend this enough!

A tiny restaurant, but what it lacks in space it makes up for with the food. Everything is cooked fresh to order in a spotless open kitchen. The Chef and his team are really friendly and the whole experience is a delight. Thai food has a reputation for being fiercely spicy, in Im-oon the spice has been dialled down a bit, as that’s what customers want, but if you ask they will make it as spicy as you like.There’s lots to choose from and portions are generous. I have eaten here many times now and I’ve always had a great time.

Absolut perfection. Everything. The food, the portions, the service, the little place that makes you feel at home, the... I came 2 days in a row. I live in Rome and wish there was something at least close to this gem. Totally recommended, the high reviews of others are well deserved.

The best Thai food I've ever tried in my life . It's amazing, you eat and you feel like you are in Thailand. All is pretty tasty, big portions and the best quality. For sure I'll back to Budapest for it. And it's super cheap!!!

Absolutely and fabulously authentic Thai food. This is not the the typical “pad Thai” restaurant you are thinking about, it is a winning combination of particular flavors and recipes. Pretty good but my yellow curry tasted more like a red curry & the bamboo shoots gave my curry I strong pungent gamey flavor that I wasn’t crazy about. Maybe I should have tried something else. Also they don’t have Thai iced tea, bummer.

Plus on lot of our dishes just put a lot of ketchup and some kind of mayonnaise sauce and made everything look nice but everything was soaked in random sauces that are not super authentic. 3. Then we will get dishes that don’t even look like the other dishes from other Thai restaurants… 4. Three we’ve been to Thailand and we’ve been at Thai restaurants all over the world and this is not a Thai restaurant I say it’s an Asian fusion restaurant. 4. I was extremely dissatisfied and I came with people from five other countries, and this was not worth it. They don’t even have desert or mango, sticky rice. 5. The only the only reason we’re giving one star is because the server was super nice and he smiled a lot. 6. Food was cooked way too quickly and was essentially fast food .

Good quality, authentic Thai food. I spend a lots of time in Thailand so I have a good comparison. This restaurant like you would be in Thailand. Green curry and Massaman curry are really jammy 🙂

As a Thai, In terms of authenticity, the food may not be entirely traditional, it seems a bit more for foreigners. However, it tasted good, and the portion sizes were generous. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, They even suggested some great places for me to visit in Budapest. 😊

Food cooked with love! Can feel for the passion the kitchen has for their offerings. We really enjoyed the food here and it’s only about a 5 mins walk from the opera house next to lots of shopping. Good spot for a quick bite and break from walking around.

Very authentic! As we walk in, really nice people welcome is. My first impression was that the restaurant is so tiny that it’s going to be impossible to dine in, but fortunately there was 1 more table for us. It was extremely hot in the restaurant, which is understandable, since the space is so limited, also it was extremely hot outside. The menu is inclusive, it has all staples of Thai cuisine. Service was fast. The food is incredible, just beyond amazing. You can feel they cooked it with love and care. We felt like we were sitting in Thailand: amazing food, nice people, and extreme heat. It was definitely an experience.

Pad Thai is really tasty, a bit sweet Spicy level for tomyum need to be considered but to me is perfect 😊😊😊 The size is more than enough for one 😊 Still, it was really hot in the summer even there were the conditioner and fans Waiter is nice and patient 😊 Good experience in all

5 stars or more for the food but the restaurant is a bit too small without AC. It was also weird that we had to write down our order on a piece of paper. The food is amazingly delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Although it’s a small restaurant you can pay by credit card which was great. The food was so good that I forgot to take photos after the first dish arrived. We ordered Bangkok fried rice,Phanaeng curry, Pad Krapow and Pad Thai.

Tiny little place serving great Thai food. Everything is prepared in front of you on two wok stations. They also put effort into the presentation which is unusual for a place like this. Absolutely recommend!

A sort of hole-in-the-wall place not too far from the centre. I knew immediately when I entered the place that the food would be good. We ordered Bangkok fried rice and Im-oon rice noodles. Food made by locals and really delicious. The portions were quite big. I loved that they had vegetarian options for every dish, and a wide variety in their menu. The staff were super friendly, and I found their plates/cutlery really pretty. I would recommend this place to anybody who likes Thai food or wants to venture into it.

This place is a heavensend. Such homely, delicious, simple and hearty fare. Healthy and filling. And simply yum! Cozy family run bistro setting, seating is tight so leave big pieces of luggage at home! I’m vegetarian and the green curry with tofu was as good as it gets in Europe. A bustling Thai restaurant with food that is made from the heart. We came in around 9 o’clock and the restaurant was fully packed. You place your order by writing out what you’d like on a piece of paper and bringing it to the kitchen which is an interesting way to order! We ordered the Pad Kra Pao and Pranburi and the presentation of both dishes was beautiful. The pad kra pao didn’t quite have the strong basil flavour profile you’d expect from this dish, however delicious nonetheless. The Pranburi had quite a mellow flavour and the curry powder was prominent in the dish. Portion sizes and prices are both fair. It is quite hot and cramped upstairs as there is no air conditioner however this didn’t bother us too much as the food and the look of the kitchen was very inviting. Great experience overall!

I really wanted to give 5 stars but I was just disappointed. We got Pad Thai and Khao Soi (chiang mai soup). The food was good, but just not real thai flavors. I loved the way they displayed each meal, like it was a 5 star restaurant. But then the service felt lazy and the restaurant looked more run down. There is no reason to serve food on beautiful plates and then have the customer come to the front counter to order the food and pay, like in a fast food restaurant. Even ordering water, they gave no cups. Just felt very cheap and lazy on their end.

Absolutely loved this place!!! I had that Chicken Pad Thai and it was amazing. I dug that cozy shop feel too. The biggest thing was how friendly everyone was inside, that goes a long way for me!!! The chef asked me how the meal was and I said absolutely amazing!! But the biggest thing was he cared enough to ask. Please pay this place a visit

Best Thai restaurant I’ve visited not just in Budapest, but in Europe. Ate here three days in a row after random stumbling across it on the evening we arrived. Can especially recommend the Khao Soi (Chiang Mai soup) and also enjoyed the Angel Hair noodles with Massaman curry.

The food was so authentic and delicious, we ordered more to go after dining in. We had the Pad Thai, panang curry, and Thai fried rice. Don’t miss out on the Pad Thai - it’s made with love and it shows. This is a small family restaurant and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. Wish we had more time in Budapest so we could have gone back again.

First day in Budapest, we picked the restaurant for its rating: the best Idea. The red curry was really hot 🔥 but great!!! The prawn curry noodles simply delicious! And they were skillfully and beautifully presented. Super nice stuff. Just go and give it a try, you won't regret it.

The food was amazing and the price was great with the big portion and the traditional taste. Loved the Pad Thai and also fried rice. The service was really nice and friendly. One thing though, this place is really small and it is not climatised so it can get really hot and stuffy. However, if you like traditional Thai food you should definitely visite.

Excellent. Displays serve some authentic Thai food. The owner seems to be from Thailand, the dishes definitely reflect the origin. Each dish we tried was excellent quality, rich in flavour, and made with authentic ingredients, giving a rich taste, juiciness, and a lovely presentation of what actually is being put in front of you on your plate, hard to find something similar in Budapest, well, very small and just a bistro, some of the best around.

We had a quick and spontaneous dinner here and enjoyed it so much! The flavors are authentic, the choice is great and the Team so welcoming and friendly. We ordered a soup and two mains. Everything was delicious, especially the coconut soup and peanut sauce! We would have loved to order these dishes with tofu, which unfortunately is not an option.

We are very saddened by the fact that this Thai restaurant is in Budapest and not in Belgium.. Best Thai food we ever had. Hands down. Going home in 2 days and definitely going back at least once before we leave! Food delicious, staff friendly, price-quality very good and very little waiting time.

It was very delicious, especially the soups. You can decide between different meals and there is always a picture of the food on the menu. The waiter is very nice as well. And again .. the food is very good. I would 100% recommend. The price is also 100% reasonable. There is also always a vegetarian option with tofu. Very good!
