I've now tried four different Baths in Budapest, each different and each one has something to recommend it. Having recently been to Gellert, I found Rudas to be much less busy and used more by locals rather than tourists. I particularly like the Sauna World; it has best saunas I've been to out of the four baths. Sauna World has three saunas, a steam room, cold pool (14C) and I love the automated three part shower, each one different temperature, pressure and pulse. It also has a relaxation room and access to the upper deck above the swimming pool. The swimming pool has lanes unlike the Gellert, which makes it easier to swim, particularly if you prefer freestyle, it also has a small sauna by the pool and a relaxation area. Don't miss the thermal pools in the "Wellness Section", I did on my first visit, they are beyond the end of the Swimming pool. Note you must wear flipflops and swimming cap if you want to use the pool. The Turkish Baths operate women and men only days. Four Thermal pools surround a central octagonal pool with temperatures 28C, 30C, 33C and 42C, but these "corner pools" are quite small compared to Gellert which operates four large Thermal pools, two at 36C and two at 44C. So for Thermal pools I prefer the Gellert. Two steam rooms at temperature of 45C and a cold pool temperature 17C. Another thing I like is being able to seperate the facilities. Other Baths I've been to charge one all inclusive price. You can do that here but if you want to just use a) Swimming Pool/ Sauna World/Wellness Centre or b) Turkish Steam Baths, you can pay a lower price for one of these rather than the combined all in price. I think the best value which really has everything I want is option a) but note the Sauna World opens at 11.00am Depending on which option(s) you chose, the wrist band will give you access to that area. So in Summary, if Thermal pools are your priority I would chose either Gellert or Szechenyi. But for Sauna (combined with swimming) I would chose Rudas over Gellert. Also with this option alone, it's considerably cheaper, 5900 huf v 9400 huf. If you opt for a) and b) above it's 8600 huf.

Very nice view from the bathtub on the rooftop. But it’s very crowded! My favorite place to go in the winter! Basement floor has nice Turkish baths and saunas, very old fashion and unique. Price is much cheaper in the work days. Tuesday is women day. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are men day only. So be careful and plan your visit in advance.

I will write a quick guide on things nobody will explain to you, but basics first: It's clean. There are lots of showers and toilets. One swimming pool, a few pools with temperature: 🌡️ 10, 29, 34, 36, 42. Old bath part, that has more smell to it with 5 small pools. Spa part that has 6 different saunas. The scheme is confusing and inaccurate. The price is (today, 05.11.2023) 30+ euro, 12000+ HUF. Way too expensive! I will give it 5 stars, but it's more like 2 compared to Bucharest Therme. Now details: You get the elevator to floor 1, you get a bracelet that locks ANY locker, and then sets itself to unlock THAT locker. No matter which you pick. You also use your bracelet to access different parts of the facility. To reach the top/roof/open air pool, do not follow the instructions - just follow the signs towards the restaurant. Go to the wellness and panorama pools, that are after you pass the swimming pool (that you need cap for). After you enter the 4 small wellness pools, go to the farthest side of the building, and find the stairs for the restaurant. Pass the restaurant and you'll see the exit. Please use towels in the saunas. Sauna worked after 11am. Is it crowded - yes, very. At 9am it was already packed. By 11 you had to wait a while to get in the smaller pools. It's just as bad as the rest of the pools but it's bearable!

If you want to spend some time in relaxing environment and you are in Budapest, go to this thermal baths. They offer a lots of pools and saunas. You can relax in the pools with the different kind of temperature like 28C, 30C, 36C or 42C. Or you can choose saunas instead. You have great jacuzzi outside placed on the roof with the warm water (36C) and the great view of Budapest. Inside you have restaurant if you become hugry. You have practically everything what you need.

Its a great place, but make sure you book your ticket in advance. I went on a Saturday at 4:45and stood in line until almost 6pm and still had to pay full price for less than two hours of being there. They do check vaccination, but the place is PACKED. The pool at the top was really awesome, but so full of people. Great experience overall, just not very covid safe. Oh and make sure to bring your own flip flops otherwise you have to buy some there and theyre pricey.

It is one of my favourite thermal baths in the city. They have a few indoor and outdoor pools with a different temperature as wells as saunas and steam rooms; also they can boast a panoramic pool overlooking the city. It might get crowded tho. Just FYI on Wednesdays they have Male’s Day so females don’t have the access to the historical areas. Apart from that we enjoyed their restaurant with local foods. It’s a perfect place for chilling and getting recharged 😃 Btw we got tickets by the door, no pre-booking.

Nice place to relax in cold winter days if you go during weekdays. On weekends it is overcrowded. Rooftop bath is awesome for enjoying views of Danube and nearby Gellert Hill. I loved contrast bathing and saunas. I would really like to try Turkish bath section, but i purchased ticket for Welness- Spa part because the detailed information about Turkish bath is not written on their website. The pools were not completely clean as you can see buildup of sand particles(?) at the bottom. Staff could be more polite, especially when asking you to leave 15 minutes before closing. Bring your own towel, slippers and come in the morning to enjoy your time fully

Amazing baths! Great rooftop pool with pink lightning and view on Elizabeth’s and Liberty bridges. Authentic inner thermal bath with spherical ceiling and central pool. Separation on male and female days only adds up to this vibe. Big variety of water temperatures from 11°C to 45°C. Swimming hat is only required in the main swimming pool. We didn’t test out buffet with cakes and beers but others seemed to enjoy it. One of the best baths in town!

One of the best baths in Budapest! Great experience, the best is the termal bath at the terrace with 360 view. Pity men and women can’t visit the thermal baths at the old part the same day, so check the schedule before going.

We only paid for the wellness experience without going to the Turkish baths. Even then, it was good enough for us to spend a good 5 hours there. We went on a weekday at around 3 pm, but the roof was already full of people. Despite that, we were able to find a spot in the roof bath to see the panoramic view of the city. Highly recommend it!

Amazing experience!!! For about 5000HUF you have a full access to all facilities for as long as you want. The outdoor wellness pool overlooking river Danube is a must go. Food at the bar is reasonable priced but quality is so so. Overall it is a wonderful experience, highly recommend!!

The prices are very fair. On the weekend you can spend your whole day at the spa for less money. From outside the building looks very small but inside it's huge and like a labyrinth. You can drink water through fountains there are many changing rooms saunas place to relax and so on. The water quality is very good. You can smell the thermal water. I liked it that there was no kids. The turkish bath area was amazing and the water temperature awesome. I didn't like it that inside it was a bit scruffy and one place of the building felt like in an old hospital or even like a prison.

Amazing! The views from the panoramic rooftop pool are stunning! You could spend hours here due to the many different pools, Turkish baths, saunas and steam rooms. The full spa experience all for £20, amazing value! There is also a bistro and bar meaning you can enjoy a drink in the thermal bath overlooking the Danube. If you're only going to visit one bath in Budapest, this is the one. We also went to the famous Szechenyi thermal baths, obviously beautiful, but the Rudas baths were so much cleaner and had a lot more going on. Do note, however, that the Turkish bath can only be used by both men and women on certain days so check that out before you visit.

I love these baths. We had an amazing day int the pools and spa. Children are allowed but they do not have discount. Sauna is not recommended for them. Seeghtseeing from the dome pool is the best.

The top thermal baths you can go to in budapest, for people 30+. Wellness is great, and the Turkish area is amusing. Saunas are differentiated and not crowded and on top of that, you'll be able to enjoy a drink or a juice in the 36 degrees pool on the roof, while looking at the whole city on one side and at the mountain on the other. Be sure to experience the weekend night entrance for a great thing to remember forever.

Definitely the best of baths I’ve been to in Budapest. Relaxing atmosphere; the location is Devine- tucked into the sandwich of riverbank and mountain. Of course the Sun Terrance would be a cherry on top with an unexceptional view, but don’t forget about the astonishing ancient baths, which provide you with a tranquil feeling— and a great resting room, where you can literally take a nap after a fine session of hot bath. Highly recommend for a healing trip.

BEST DAY EVER!!!!! Absolutely loved spending a day in Budapest here. Amazing authentic thermal baths, saunas and steam rooms of varying different temperatures. Such a cool experience and very well maintained. They have a bath from the 1600s so damn cool!! Wonderful kind people there. Make sure you go to the top outdoor pool also! You can see the entire city and it’s BEAUTIFUL at sunset watching the boats come in next to the mountain. Highly recommend!!!! We also made friends there which was so special.

Lovely baths very beautiful decor in the Turkish bath area. I paid entry for the main swimming pool and saunas without realising it was extra to do the Turkish baths, so do bear that in mind if you would like to save money and just experience the authentic Turkish thermal baths. I enjoyed the thermal baths and the lady who worked there was freindly, but I found the locals to be standoffish and stare a lot, which another reviewer had mentioned, as I was alone it was harder to just ignore it. Perhaps they are thinking this is a local place what's a tourist doing here 😂

Amazing baths in the heart of the city. We were here during the week, which was probably a good idea as the place wasn't so busy. We really enjoyed especially rooftop bath with lovely view. However, not all areas are fully functional.

One should definitely go here when visiting Budapest and plan at least half a day for a visit. Although there is a division into men and women days, it only applies to the old Turkish part, but saunas and baths are open for everyone. So make sure to buy the right ticket, e.g. wellness ticket for ca. 11€ instead of all-in-one if you are female and it's not Tuesday. The roof bath is definitely a must see! I also recommend visiting the restaurant and book a 45 minutes massage. The prices are affordable and it is worth every cent.

Ein wunderschönes Bad mit einem herrlichen Blick auf die schöne Stadt Budapest. Das Bad hat einen großen historischen Wert, da es bereits 1550 erbaut wurde. Es gibt so ziemlich alles, was man braucht. Gerne wieder 😉👌🏻

Spent my Saturday at Rudas and ended up sooo relaxed. The old part of the baths was my absolute favorite. The medicinal waters are amazing and the steam room is top. Do remember to bring towels, swimsuit and sandals. I got a package that included my meals which was good but is not necessary. Didn't get to try the pool on top. It was packed.

Great experience overall. Even though I wasn’t able to visit Turkish bath on Monday, I really enjoyed the panoramic view from the bath on the top of the building. What I personally don’t really like is that dressing room for women is shared with men. The temperature in baths is constantly controlled by stuff. Don’t expect it to be extra clean, it’s a public place. There are fewer people on weekdays in the morning.

Rudas Baths in Budapest, Hungary, is a historic thermal bathhouse with over 500 years of history. Originally exclusive to men, it now opens to women on Tuesdays, while Turkish baths remain for men only. The facility offers coed spas, an underground pool, and various thermal experiences. Blending Hungarian and Turkish architecture, it features natural thermal spring water from Gellért Hill. A recommended pass provides access to different thermal areas. The baths showcase a unique blend of history and relaxation.

Beautiful Turkish bath!! I visited on the women-only Tuesday, around noon. I bought a ticket for both wellness section and Turkish side, but the Turkish section would have been enough, since I liked the thermal baths, the beautiful atmosphere, and the steam chamber. I spent a very relaxed couple of hours there. The water was clean, the place relatively quiet and also the staff were helpful.

Great spa. Has some really warm pools and cold ones as well. The 2 main unique things about it are the open terrace with 1 pool, a bar and a great view on the Pest side, and the underground turkish baths that were built by the Ottomans when they invaded Budapest, which contains hot, neutral and cold pools in addition to saunas and steam rooms. Definitely visit especially if you've already been to Szechenyi.

Check online for the times and schedule. They men and women only times, as well as coed times on the weekends. I have only been to a couple of baths in Budapest over the years, but I come here every time I visit because it's my favorite. I only ever use the Turkish Bath and I love the atmosphere and the many temperature of baths, saunas, and steam rooms. This trip I brought 4 American friends with me. Some had experienced a Korean Bath before, but for others it was a completely new experience but they all loved their experience here!

Excellent location with view on Danube and parliament. Thermal baths make you feel that you are in ancient Turkey. I liked sauna and swimming pool on the roof where you can buy drinks. Minuses: small swimming pool on the roof, there is only 3 days for women visiting (1 day is only women's day, 2 days in weekend are for both men and women)

I used to go to a lot of saunas in Korea and Japan, and this compares very well to them. There are many different saunas and pools including a rooftop jacuzzi with a great view of the river and the city. Even cocktails were great. I wish we tried the restaurant. Also, I lost my makeup pouch on the lounge before I went in the sauna, but the staff members kept it nicely. Everyone was so kind and professional.

Lovely place, we paid about £20 for entrance to the Wellness and Turkish baths. They were amazing, but quite steamy so careful with your phone. We were charged £10 for slippers (which you dont have to buy- but for hygiene), so bring your own if you can. It was quite busy but an amazing experience for a great price.

A brilliant experience - it takes a while to find your way about but the staff are very friendly and helped when we were lost. Very ancient plunge pools, steam rooms and saunas. A roof top hot tub with brilliant views to round it all off ! Try it - its worth it !

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT: It’s expensive, around 16 EUR, but absolutely not fancy or architecturally outstanding. It’s rather small and, on a Sunday, packed with people. If you’ve been to spas in luxury hotels you will be completely dissatisfied by this experience.

This was the most beautiful bath we've visited in Budapest. Especially when visited at night, the panoramic pool had the greatest view of the city. Everyone was nice there, we've had a wonderful time. A bit pricy compared to other baths though, so if you only want to relax and spend some time in thermal water it might not be the best choice, but if you want to visit the best bath the city can offer you must visit here.

A lovely day spent in the best way. This is a no-nonsense place, so come prepared. Bring your own stuff: towel, bathing suit, swimming cap, flip flops and bathrobe, if you prefer. There are two main areas: Thermal, which contains the ancient Turkish baths and steam chambers; and Wellness, which has saunas, a variety of pools, and the rooftop pool with a beautiful panorama of the city. You can choose between the sections or buy an all-inclusive ticket, but be aware of the day, women can only use the Turkish baths on Tuesday. Weekends are mixed. There are lockers and cabins. There is also a nice restaurant. The staff is helpful and most speak English. On weekdays, the place is less packed. There are resting zones and they are kept quiet, so you can relax. A very good experience!

Underrated thermal bath was a variety of pools, temperatures, and surroundings to keep you pleased and entertained all day. Our favorites were the rooftop pool, the hot/cold immersive baths, and of course the beautiful dome shaped bath located at the bottom of the building. What can I say if not fantastic? I went early in the morning in order to avoid the crowd and the tourists. It is even better than the pictures. Very clean locker room. Excellent choice of pools with temperature up to 40 degrees. Incredible Turkish ambient. There is also a modern section of pools and an amusing selection of saunas. Very very relaxing. Pity I only visited once.

I highly recommend the Turkish bath. But make sure to plan the day that you can visit. (Tuesdays for woman). Only turkish bath costs about 20 euro. Plan a half day for the turkish bath or a whole dat for the entire place. Have your swimming dress and flip flop.

There are enough 5 star ratings that I don’t think you need to read this. However, if you are here I recommend allowing about an hour for the hot tub upstairs in the patio/roof with the view. Serenity with a gorgeous view while chilling in a hot tub with a drink. Life don’t get much better than this.

Wonderful place with a few buts. We arrived from the countryside by train to Budapest-Déli (south) terminal and from there we took a tram from across the street directly to the spa, which took about 15 minutes, so it’s super easy to get there by public transportation. My husband loves the spas in Hungary and this place was amazing. We visited on a Sunday, when the Turkish bath is co-ed, but the entry ticket was much more expensive then during the week. This was not exactly surprising as we did some research on their website prior to our arrival. The lady in the ticketing office was not the friendliest but this wasn’t surprising either, we got used to people not really to smile in Hungary. After we purchased our tickets and two aroma therapy massages, we tried to find out what kind of changing options we have, if we got a cabin or just a locker on our entry watches, as we were not offered any options at the time of the ticket purchase. When we approached the first gate, two men at the entry given us some guide, and advised we got lockers. The locker room was clean and tidy, and when we were on our way to the massages, I realised they have a few safe available. When I asked the lady how is it working, she said I was meant to purchase the access for a safe at the ticket office for 1000HUF upon arrival. Unfortunately, we have not been offered this option either. Our day at the spa started with the massages. A few years ago we visited the most famous spa of Budapest, which is the Széchenyi spa and the massage was excellent there, however the aroma therapy massage at Rudas spa is mostly made out of nothing but applying oil on our bodies… we were really not satisfied with it, so we don’t recommend you to waste your money, no offence to the masseurs. After the massage we tried the Turkish bath which was fantastic. The temperature was great, there was not many people and we really enjoyed the small baths in the corners, the saunas, salt rooms etc. The small bath on the roof is wonderful, with great view but because of its size, it’s get filled up really quickly. The baths with very hot and very cold water is really great, but I advise you to follow the instructions the best as you can, because I didn’t, and I felt a bit unwell at the end 🤣 The other thing I found a bit negative is the lack of spin machine for our wet clothes and towels. I found one tiny at the end of our locker room that literally fit only a swimwear as it was the size of a kettle, so I had to take home our towels wet. Other then these, the spa was clean and tidy, the food was ok, but I recommend you to have some cash on you as it took us 30 minutes to pay because the terminal was down. Happy relaxing!

By far my favorite bath in the city. Reasonably prices and has all the facilities you could want, plus the Turkish bath is lovely and the same goes for the roof top pool especially in the winter. I recommend going early in the morning, I went for opening and had the roof top pool to myself for the first hour. I will definitely return.

Had a great day here... Purchased a pass to experience both sides and I also had lunch there. If I lived in Budapest this would be part of my weekly health regime for sure!

Thermal baths Rudas are one of the oldest in Budapest. Large swimming pool and diferent temperature welllnes pools are the must where in Buda. They have also a small openair rooftop pool with great view over Pest. Nice and relaxing place after long walk around the city.

Visited spa with my daughter. Lovely spa although difficult to navigate. Lots of stairs.never did find the underwater jet pool. No 33. Anyway we loved it here on the top roof spa although I know young people like to enjoy themselves but a large group of young men turned up drinking beer in the pool. This put me off a bit as you had to navigate them and I felt it wasn't the place to have a booze up. They were actually sat in the pool over two hours and when we left they were still there ordering more beer. They took it over. Some people could not get in comfortably. Luckily we had peaceful time before they arrived.!

Great place if you want to take a trip to history and experience what people used to experience. In the entrance you will find main historical pool, some small pools with different temperatures, hot air rooms, spa and massage rooms. In the 1st floor you will find a big swimming pool but you will need head cover to swim, again in the same floor you will other modern pools with different temperatures. At the top floor 360° rooftop pool is located but generally you will find lots of people in it. I went there on a Saturday morning at 8am and still there were some people.

Exceeded expectations! Went on Friday night, incredible ancient pools and original saunas/steam bath. Plus spacious modern wellness area and incredible Danube night view on the rooftop pool. The pools supervisors are super nice too :) Beautiful experience!
