Beautifully restored into a world class performing arts venue, synagogue with a museum and many inviting spaces. Our conference was held there and it was very special. Knowing it had just been restored, was celebrating 150 years made it even more incredible. Feeling the tragic history and triumphant return- this is a very special place! It’s truly magnificent!!!

In summer Budapest don't really have a decent AC(even not in crowded public transportation) so this Synagogue is the only place with really nice AC 😂, there is not much people visiting this place so is not crowded inside, there is many clean toilets inside, you can keep your bags downstairs in a free locker, the entrance fee is 3000 HUF . There is a cafeteria but was closed when we were there, there is a gift shop before the exit door, in the last floor there is a small museum/exposition. The synagogue is almost 100% reconstructed, from far looks really beautiful but if you get closer you can see they actually did a mediocre work(i can paint it better) but still nice if you are interested in Jewish history or history .

Located in the heart of downtown Budapest, at the historic district of Belvaros, this synagogue has been the spiritual home for Neolog Hungarian Orthodox Jews since the late 19th century. Built to the design of Otto Wagner, the genius behind many Art Nouveau buildings in Vienna, this synagogue has an architectural style clearly reminiscent of the Northern African and Arabic themes, featuring octagonal, minaret-style columns similar to those of Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock. The decorative brickwork on the outside of the building is quite remarkable, with carved stone and stucco complementing the wrought iron work. The multi-colored facade, along with the oriental style arches, make the perfect backdrop to the windows with the Star of David in them; at the center of the facade, one can also see the two stone tablets of Moses. The interior of the synagogue is quite stunning too, with a soaring main nave, exquisitely decorated dome and ceilings, stained glass windows, and decorative arabesques on the walls. Suffered badly during World War II, the building has been out of service for almost 60 years now and its recent restoration is complete. There is a small exhibition in the top floor for history of Jewish people in Hungary.

Really a big big NO. I visited it few years back and I would have said it’s worth to see, but now it’s a complete SCAM. The entrance fee are incredibly high just to see a religious site. Definitely not recommended.

Beautifully renovated synagogue just a stone thrown from the big/ central synagogue of Budapest. I attended a classical music concert with BFO under the baton of Ivan Fischer.

I was last here many years ago and this synagogue was a ruin. It has been beautifully restored and now forms a part of Budapests rich cultural and Jewish heritage. It is worth passing by to see the amazing architecture.

3000 HUF (9€) for a 5 minute experience is a robbery. Nothing special, just a modern synagogue. Use your money better, eat a langos.

I wish 4.5 stars were a thing. Overall I liked it but did not love it. Why? The building was very clean and quite beautiful. But it did not come alive for me. The museum explained the history of Hungarian Jews on the example of a single family over several generations. I love the concept and I had quite a bit of time, but the displays did not pull me in. To my surprise I skipped most of it. Overall, I feel the experience did not quite reward me for the effort of finding the building, paying the entrance fee, getting through the security, storing my backpack. I was back in the street after 20 mins. The bigger and older synagogue nearby impressed me more and is preferable, I felt. Maybe it is the pristine renovation that prevented a deeper connection with this place of worship.

Best Sinagoga I visit. Within the ticket, you always have a guided tour starting every 30 minutes around, in several language. The explanation is perfect, best ever in a church or other religious place

Beautifully restored synagogue. We were warmly welcomed and Chris provided some really interesting background information about the architecture and history of the site for free. Such a shame that so few people were there! Would recommend to anyone visiting Budapest.

The synagogue is small but really nice. The arabic style of the walls is amazing! In the ticket price is included a tour guide in english. Our guide, Chris, was really polite and help us to understand better the history of the synagogue. Really suggested!

A lovely small synagogue, beautifully renovated. History is fascinating and told by a very knowledgeable guide, Chris. This place is soon to be closed due to lack of funding, please visit while you can and show your support so such a valuable place in history can stay running!

The interior is beautiful and the historical exhibits are fascinating. There was a gentleman playing the xylophone while I was there and it was wonderful.

Cool place I’m really happy that I went there. First time in a synagoge so It was a nice experience. It’s pretty small so if you just want a little view how a synagogue can look like without wanting to spend all day I can recommend. Staff was super cool. There is text inside in English were you can learn about the history of the synagoge and jews in Budapest/Hungary.

My experience at Rumbach Street Synagogue was incredible! The synagogue is a beautiful architectural gem, and the interior is simply stunning. The history and culture of the Jewish community in Budapest come to life in this place. The guided tour was informative and provided an insight into the significance of the synagogue in Hungarian Jewish history. The museum on-site is also a great resource, with exhibits showcasing the life and legacy of the Hungarian Jewish community. Overall, a must-visit destination in Budapest for those interested in history and culture. Fun fact: Rumbach Street Synagogue was designed by Otto Wagner, one of the most prominent architects of the late 19th century. The synagogue was built in the Moorish Revival style, with decorative elements inspired by Islamic architecture. It's a unique and beautiful example of the fusion of Jewish and Islamic influences in Hungarian architecture.

The synagogue looks really beautiful, and the expositions while not very extensive, they are interesting and definitely serve their purpose. However, what I would like to emphasize is the work of the guide. Really motivated and interesting. He explained very clearly the history of the synangogue until the current days and was very close and friendly, giving room to make your own questions.

Amazing architecture, good detail and interior design. The music sounded good with the acoustic treatment. I'd recommend a visit. Chris was amazing and went above and beyond to make the experience meaningful.

Great exhibit on the second floor and informative and interesting guided tours. The synagogue is gorgeous, this one is among the three, well preserved and most famous synagogues in Budapest. Worth a visit for sure!

Rumbach Street Synagogue is an absolutely gorgeous place to visit and photograph. Budapest has not just one, but at least 3 unique and old Synagogues. Rumbach Street Synagogue is notable for using a lot of design characteristics that is typically found in the design of a mosque. Also noteworthy is that the synagogue is designed by Otto Wagner, a famous Austrian architect.

It's a beautiful Synagoge, I find it amazing that Budapest has not just one, but at least 3 unique and old Synagogues. It's notable for it's unusual design reminiscing a mosque. Fun fact is that this building was designed by Otto Wagner (a famous architect).

It’s interesting place for a good coffee 😍 There are colorful decorations of the walls. They painted blue birds of the walls and those are like alive. White bird cages hanging from the ceiling. This place has a bit of a Latin feel for me. I loved it ♥️ The staff really kind and helpful. I drank a cappuccino and it was really delicious. You can choose many kind of coffee. If you are here you should have a coffee here
