nobody could speak English despite the fact the menu was written in English. I was struggling to place an order with the staff behind the counter, while local hungarians were looking on and laughing, the person behind the counter was exchanging words in hungarian with them, I assume they were mocking me. never felt so humiliated before. this was by far my worst experience in budapest. definitely got the feeling like tourists were not welcome

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the area to another restaurant. So glad I walked in! Definitely a local place filled with local people at the real local prices. If you are the kind of tourist who doesn't want to pay crazy tourist prices and wants to try the true local fare this place is highly recommended

This place is a true Gem. It’s busy but the girl up front is very efficient and pleasant, so service is quick. Portions are more than enough and everything we tried was simply delicious. And all of this for very reasonable prices, 1200-1400 forint gets you a huge lunch with sides. Some things are ready to go and some are made to order. They have the best palacsinta as well.

Real authentic hungarian restaurant, that square stripes tablecloth, enormous portion and absolutely affordable price. The person who served in the counter has lack of english but they would understand what you want. Very fast service and my stomach just wanted to explode after dined there due to the big dosage what they gave. The taste was really pleasant. I can only highly recommend this place if you want to experience such real hungarian feeling. If you come during the lunch time, be prepared for a long queue. You must come in the correct time.

Lively Hungarian eatery famous with the locals of the district. I've been living in the district for two years and just found out about the place. The food is fresh and service is quick but you'll probably have to wait in line because of all the patrons. Highly recommended for a non pretentious, non touristy, great meal. :)
