I
thought
a
lot
about
how
to
write
my
story,
if
I
should
write
it
at
all.
I
am
determined.
tl;dr
I
gave
it
three
hours,
all
three
came
back
to
me
in
worse
condition,
though
for
different
reasons.
The
first
was
a
simple
battery
swap
in
a
zero-mile,
out-of-the-box,
battery-powered
quartz
in
Cornavin.
It
has
never
been
worn,
the
battery
in
it
was
discharged
when
it
was
standing.
In
this
pristine,
still
foiled
watch,
he
managed
to
change
the
battery
by
scratching
the
groove
on
the
back
with
a
screwdriver.
The
second
task
was
a
smooth
review
and
tmk
of
a
wind-up,
Swiss
Festina.
Unitas
6325
wehrmachtswerk
movement,
pharmacy
condition,
collector's
item.
When
I
went
two
weeks
after
the
delivery,
he
said
that
he
broke
(!)
his
crown
while
putting
it
on.
I've
had
this
watch
for
ten
years,
never
had
a
single
fault.
He
later
announced
that
it
was
not
his
own
crown,
but
that
he
got
it
from
a
Soviet
Lucs,
and
that
he
would
get
a
Unitas
instead.
He
got
it,
installed
it
(it
took
a
couple
of
weeks),
and
then
I
got
the
watch
back
-
with
a
dusty
and
fluffy
dial,
and
it
also
managed
to
scratch
the
back.
I
can
take
it
to
be
cleaned
elsewhere.
The
third
was
the
most
serious
work:
automatic
Seiko
from
the
seventies,
7006-7070.
The
date
changer
was
stuck,
and
there
was
also
a
problem
with
the
power
reserve.
I
visited
him
for
many
weeks:
he
always
promised
next
week,
after
Easter,
after
a
long
weekend.
I
was
able
to
receive
it
after
two
months
(!)
from
the
first
submission,
which
looked
like
after
half
an
hour
of
waiting,
he
was
still
there
to
set
the
accuracy
with
a
timegrapher.
It
didn't
work
out
perfectly,
it's
been
a
few
minutes
late
on
my
arm
every
day
ever
since,
plus
my
sun
changer
disappeared
a
few
days
after
the
release,
and
it
hasn't
come
back
since.
In
addition,
he
did
not
clean
the
back
panel,
it
is
dirty
at
the
corners.
I
can
take
this
somewhere
else
again.
In
summary,
I
spent
three
hours
doing
various
tasks,
but
it
only
created
more
problems
instead.
I
had
to
wait
for
several
weeks
(the
opening
hours
are
also
handled
arbitrarily),
plus
a
couple
of
hours
of
nerve-wracking
standing
at
the
location,
because
you
always
have
to
tell
a
story
with
each
customer,
you
can
never
schedule
the
work
after
a
few
minutes
of
inspection,
even
if
the
line
is
at
the
end
of
the
street.
He
typically
overcommits
himself,
doesn't
meet
the
deadlines,
and
even
after
the
work,
the
counter
asks
for
the
full
price
without
a
word
(in
this
case,
2,000
for
the
battery
replacement,
8,000
for
the
Festina
with
the
broken
crown,
12,000
for
the
Seiko,
whose
sundial
has
since
failed
.
Another
story:
I
ran
to
the
ATM
across
the
street
because
I
was
missing
two
thousand
forints
from
the
total.
I
got
back
ten
minutes
later:
I
had
to
remind
him
why
I
was
giving
him
money.
Go
here
if
you
have
endless
time
and
patience
for
the
above.
