👍👍 Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter the cave, but we were lucky because a movie was being filmed there and the entrance was open. I was able to take a photo of the front of the cave. Wild celtic and dove flower also grow around the cave. People often mention cave, monastery,

What do we know about the Bátori cave? First of all, we know how to write correctly. Simply, in Hungarian, without any encryption. It used to be written as Báthory, but the person who gave the cave its name is not a member of the well-known Báthori family, but the monk Pálos László Bátori. Construction of the monastery near the cave began in 1290 and was completed around 1310. During the reign of Mátyás, the monastery and the adjoining church, as well as the farm buildings, were further expanded, and the monastery lived its heyday during this time. The Budaszentlőrinc monastery was the largest monastery in the country, whose member, László Bátori, lived as a hermit for 20-30 years in the cave later named after him. The well-known history of the cave begins in 1830, as we know from József Szabó's description. In 1908, István Eperjessy published his research results in the Turista Közlöny, who confirmed based on historical data that the monk Pálos László Bátori lived as a hermit in the cave for twenty years. On August 6, 1911, a plaque was unveiled at the cave in memory of Bátori. A wonderful little stop on the "heart tour" route, literally hidden. It's worth exploring. Verdict: 5/5.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter. However, the environment is wonderful, the air is fresh. The small footbridge provides a great experience, especially for children. It is a tourist spot that is easily accessible with families and children.

The cave is permanently closed, so you can only look at the metal door with a round hole. It is next to the tower, but on the other side of the main road.

The third stop of my one-day trip (after the monastery ruins and the Makovecz viewpoint). Climbing up the hill, we find a sealed cave entrance with a rest bench nearby and a wooden bridge. Nice surroundings, but the cave is not open to the public.

Kellemes sétára található a Kaán Károly kilátótól lefelé. Gyerekekkel is könnyen megközelíthető.

A cave that can be visited by a tour guide for cavers. The permit is issued by the national park. It is not a very big cave, 300 meters long and approx. It is 100 meters deep, but there are some good difficult climbs, it is possible for beginners to practice the rope technique and it is of historical interest because of the medieval mine. The spherical busts of the cave are unique.

Accessible only to cavers. A few ladders, a lot of climbing, a little mud crawling. Nice formations and iron deposits.
