Did the coastal walk to the first beach which is just under 1.5km via Gerrin Point. Trail is very well maintained. Really great ocean views. You'll work up a good sweat for that 1.5km due to a few uphills but the beach is a nice reward. If you JUST want to get to the beach without much effort I suggest you park at the Maitland parking then its a much shorter walk. On our return walk we saw a few schools of dolphins at Gerrin Point on a perfect blue sky day, that was a treat!

Beautiful, serene and quiet beach with a camping ground. Easy access via road. Approx 1.5 hour drive from Sydney to this beautiful long beach. You can also do long and short coastal walks over well designed trails.

Beautiful walking track overlooking the coastline. Some part were quite muddy due to the rain but the majority of the track were pretty easy with a few stairs. Toilets were really clean and there were also bbq areas available.

We did the 8.5kms walk from Putty beach to Macmasters Beach. There were some mesmerising spots on the way with beautiful walks on couple of beaches. The track on a whole was not that great and apart from the coastal view, it was quite dull. There are plenty of uphills and downhills mainly stairs and it can be quite tedious on a sunny day which we experienced. I would say Royal National park is far superior than this.

Wonderful park..make sure to get proper hiking shoes. Numerous tracks that take you to the beach and camping areas. Great views ,tough treck for little ones though. Some trecks are quiet rugged. Definitely worth a visit. If you dont like walking you can always take a drive to the accessible beaches and camp grounds.

Wow. What an amazing national park. There are so many things to do and places to go in this National Park. We visited so many things in the park during our visit here. The favourites for me were the hike to Box Head. The views are beautiful. Tallow beach was so peaceful and beautiful we loved it. Putty beach has a beautiful walk along it and the rock formations were amazing. Marie Byles lookout was brilliant as you arrive into the national park. Well worth a visit. I loved it here.

National parks along the east coast are all stunning, and Bouddi NP is no exception. It has some short and medium distance trails all around. We saw a group of king parrots, whales in the distance and bird of prey overhead. The walk to tallow beach is really nice and definitely worth to continue to little tallow beach

Very lovely place. Just heads up you must walk down through the bush1 km to get to the beach and definitely take Very little with you so is not so heavy and keep some energy to get back to the top 😉 because is uphill. 1 hour both way. But it is a really beautiful beach ⛱ 😍

Amazing. A mix of bushes and beaches. This coastal walk(8 KM) made us enjoy some magnificent beach views on right side by having bushes on other side. Try wearing dark color shoes for this coastal walk.

Maitland Bay in Bouddi National Park is an absolutely stunning location. The hike down to the beach is a bit challenging but well worth it - the views along the way were breathtaking. Once you get to the beach, you'll be blown away by the crystal clear water and pristine sand. It's the perfect spot for a swim and a picnic. The natural beauty of the area is simply breathtaking - the surrounding cliffs and lush greenery create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Maitland Bay for anyone looking for a beautiful and secluded beach getaway. Just make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and water, as it can get quite hot!

Putty beach camping area is lovely - nice flat sites and an outdoor shower. The coastal walk is beautiful but tougher going than I expected. I’d just be careful about crossing Maitland beach at high tide as it looks like the water reaches the rock wall.

I love the great and amazing Coastal Walk from Putty Beach to far side of Gerrin Point Lookout.... or a bit southern bend around then down to Maitland Bay. Stunning Vistas views on the Boardwalk section on the right by the bench. Simply stunning

Great family camping at Putty Beach and clean beach immediately adjacent to the campground. Pleasantly surprising diversity of native (and exotic) flora.

Lovely beach with nice trails(3km one way) to explore throughout the day. You have to go down some stairs and wade across the water to reach the beach so make sure you don't mind getting wet! Definitely a great place for a family day.

This was crazy!! Such an amazing place, I’m not a big of a walker but it was an easy and wonderful walk, the views are just stunning! Highly recommend coming here, I came here with my 84 year old grandpa and my 3 year old and they were great on the walk

  • 5/5 Grace B. 3 years ago on Google
Arrived after 6pm so it wasn’t too hot for a walk. Saw people camping and some coals that might’ve been used for bonfires. But yeah, lovely place to stroll and enjoy nature.

  • 5/5 Nathan Q. 1 year ago on Google
I just love this play the view is second to none when you get to the end of the path. It's a dirt road in (you will need clearance so don't try and take your Prius in unless you're game) but has views down both side incase you're not much of a walker. Once you get in you will trek to the end of a decent path (about 30 mins each way) and you have the most spectacular view of Barrenjoey Lighthouse right down to Manly and back to Brooklyn. You can camp there with a permit I believe but the trek down the the beach looks long (especially with a camping setup so maybe get one of those beach carts). ** I've done the walk a few times and the video attached wasn't the best day.

Beautiful coastal park with many hiking options and areas to explore. The place can be visited anytime of the year. Highly recommend Maitland beach for a swim.

No wonder why the First Nation people have so many cultures and traditions related to red and orange colours. Short walk from putty beach take you to some of the most colourful rock ever seen.

A great spot for a day trip with the family. I didn’t realise but you can go into the Putty Beach entrance of the National Park and park closer to the hike. We parked outside and ended up walking extra. We were going to try and do the hike to MacMasters beach but it was pretty long. Also to begin the hike, you go across Putty Beach on the left…we were a bit confused at the start. Overall, a great spot, keen to come back again to do the whole thing.

Had amazing hiking experience! Bouddi Coastal Walk from Putty Beach to Little Beach takes you from breezy scenic beaches to bush hikes with up and down staircases (moderate-high difficulty). Definitely bring water - there's no water supply which goes for the loos as well - and light snack!

Walk was amazing. But be aware that parking is stupidly expensive. (A minimum of $8 a day for tiny and limited number of parks). Also most steps along the walk have either been washed away or are filled with mud with no drainage. So wear your worst pair of shoes.

Nice place to come for camping, bushwalking and beachside activities. I've been to both Tallow Beach and Little Beach campgrounds, both offered great beaches and an escape from urban life. The bush tracks are great for short day walks and provides stunning seaside scenery along the way.

👍👍 Gerrin Point lookout is must visit location in Bouddi National Park. The views are awesome views from Gerrin Point viewing platform. The walk is very hilly and rocky at times but it is well worth it. You can start from Putty Beach or Maitland Bay Information Centre. I would recommend taking water on...
