Coach Alex does a great job instructing and mentoring his students. He is a great communicator at all levels. It doesn't matter if he is speaking to adults or engaging with the youth of his program the point and precision of what is being taught will always be learned. He just has a way of articulating what he is teaching. I have a college student, a high school student and an elementary student in Barra Gracie Garden Grove. He's great with all three age levels.

Gracie Barra Garden Grove is buy far one of the best places to learn not only Brazilian jui jitsu but good team building and good morals. Professor Alex is amazing at what he does and sends a great message to all his students. He is patient and kind and truely cares about his students success in BJJ and in just everyday life. The academy has a very warm and welcoming vibe. I would recommend joining! You or your kids... Or both! Professor Alex also puts on a fantastic summer camp for the kiddos. Check it out!

Great school to train at! My 10 year old son loves all the coaches. They are patient and very thorough. I love to train here myself, we have a great team of ladies, that was a big component when choosing a school for me. All the professors are great :)

Our family has been with Gracie Barra Garden Grove for 4 years now. This academy is the BEST! The entire staff is there because they actually love the sport. Nothing feels forced and they are passionate about the sport and teaching others. Coach Natalie is extremely skilled and wonderful with children and Professor Alex is truly one of a kind. He has an exceptional ability to relate to his students (young & old) in a way that makes his coaching safe and effective. They offer many programs for all age and skill levels as well as private lessons. If you are looking for an outlet for your children to grow or if you are looking for a unique fitness option for yourself, this is the place. Highly recommended!!

I've been going to Gracie Barra Garden Grove for a while now, and would recommend it to anyone looking to learn a new skill, or to take their training to the next level. Coach Alex is friendly and knowledgeable, and though I've only taken the adult classes, I've seen him coaching his kids classes and been very impressed with his involved and passionate teaching style there as well. All of the coaches at GBGG have been extremely helpful, and it's easy to tell that they genuinely want their students to grow as individuals and as athletes. This school is the real deal.

I've been to many gyms and I can easily say that this one has been and still is the best. From the culture here to the lessons and the overall environment, this place is stellar. Professor Alex and Professor Josh have been more than welcoming to any and all those that step foot in the gym. I highly recommend coming by and seeing for yourself. Great for all skill levels, all age levels and all genders. You will learn self defense, you will improve your fitness, you will make friends and you will have fun.

My daughter and I were in town on vacation and wanted a place to train. Went to Gracie Barra Garden Grove, could not have been happier. The entire place made you feel like home. My daughter did the teen’s class then the adult class with me. Professor Alex D’Hue was a great instructor with attention to detail and safety as the top items for his gym. If you’re thinking about taking up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or getting your kids into it, Professor Alex’s professionalism and dedication to his students are second to none. As great as an instructor he is with the adult classes, Professor Alex is even better with the kids classes. His teaching style makes even the more difficult techniques easier and fun to learn.
