Nice mostly flat walking trail. It is dog friendly! Has little cut down a to the river.

UPDATE September 2023: Water is still flowing thru Bull Run Creek and the rock bridge across the creek has been repaired. Still very green and lovely along the trail and near the creek. See recent pics below #7-15. Have fun 😊 Fairly easy in and out. There is a steep rocky descent about halfway to Bull Run Creek, but mostly meandering path. Rock bridge across the creek is currently blown out from all the rain. Also water level is high and swift so no crossing at this time. Good parking area. No facilities. Bring drinking water.

I've accessed this trail both in Kern and north of Kern at McKneely's. The Kern end has adequate space for parking, is relatively flat/easy for hiking, and becomes rocky at times. The northern end traverses up and down quite a bit and is much more challenging. Love this trail.

I thought the hike was fun, a good walking trail for beginners seeking light to moderate excercise. I especially enjoyed the surprise creek half way through. The water was cool and refreshing, and very clean, not a mosquito in a sight.

Lots of fun! Easy hike. 2 places were a little challenging. A hiking stick was helpful.

Look out for loose rocks along the rock bridge and check weather reports before heading out. The valley sinks into darkness quickly when the sun sets so head back early and don't forget to stop at Cheryl's Diner in town!

Super easy family friendly hike. Bring water and be aware there is not much coverage on the trail.

Nice trail that follows the river for 16 miles. Moderate. Nice views.
