First time here and not last. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the potatoes with the white sauce for starters, black truffle with angel pasta and the pesto gnocchi. The service was great and the staff was kind to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The outdoor seating is very cute.

I enjoyed my four course meal at Sofi Memorial Day. Family style is the way to go, for a large party like ours (I was one of 17). Waitstaff took good care of us. Christian ensured everything was brought to our table hot and plated beautifully, and kept the wine pouring. I added photos of some of the highlights here, but standouts include the lamb chops, the tenderest veal, brisket, sea bass, fava beans with sea salt, peppercorns and shaved aged Parmesan, and risotto. Lovely dessert platter too. I’m looking forward to next time!

We made a reservation on a Sunday night and we’re quickly seated. Indoors is a bit dark, dark enough that a man was using his phone light to inspect the menu. The server was fast, polite, and willing to answer questions. They do have some vegetarian options which is a plus. My food (v) was not the best, but I would be willing to come back and try a different dish. My Bellini was good though, and my partner enjoyed his dish.

Started off a bit rocky as the hostess shooed us out after we entered and was on the phone while doing doing so. After we were seated she came by and apologized as she was just worried about us being in the way of the waiters in the narrow entrance. After that the service was very nice and they did everything to make my sister feel celebrated on her birthday. Food was fantastic. Had the calamari to start, 5/5. And then had a salad as I was trying to save room for dessert. They brought out an amazing tiramisu with a candle and sang happy birthday. Was a lovely night.

Came here on short notice with my girlfriend and our server Albino was fantastic. It was his service that made me think "OK I have to write a review". I am the kind of person who was overwhelmed at the three choices of water I was given immediately after sitting down, so when he gave detailed recommendations for the food (we both had the veal ossobuco - it was incredibly tender and delicious) that was super helpful. The drinks were strong and very good too. The only negative is the price, but the service and food is so great, that it's worth it at least for a special occasion.

Great Italian food, nice outdoor patio. I had seafood stew, great bread, friendly waiters, excellent wine. Early 3 course dinner special. Participating in restaurant week.

The cutest authentic Italian restaurant in printers row, beautiful interior and an adorable patio for enjoying warmer nights. The owners are kind and from Italy. If you’re familiar with true Italian meals you’ve come to the right place. Grappa, Limoncello, fresh pasta and delicious mains. Everything we tried was so good but most importantly make sure you save room for dessert. The tiramisu was to die for. I wish I got more photos but unfortunately the camera did not eat first this trip, everything was so tasty!! Thank you Sofi, well done!

Nice little Italian restaurant near the loop. My overall experience was pretty good: the server was super nice and the food was obviously well cooked. Can’t expect less from an Italian restaurant. I’m definitely coming back to taste more Italian cuisine. P.S: Make sure to reserve a table online/or by calling instead of just walking in, especially if you want to eat outside.

What a wonderful dinner under the canopy. Everything was spectacular--the service, the food, the weather. We've been wanting to visit Sofi and just never thought ahead to make a reservation. Finally!

I had the Octopus appetizer, the octopus was over cooked but the main course the lamb chops weee cook to perfection. I finished with a Creme brûlée that was good also. I would return.

We were walking by on a Saturday evening when we thought Italian food sounded nice. They were able to seat us immediately. Service from then on was a bit slow. We ordered drinks and dinner and waited another 10-15 minutes before we were given bread. Once the food got to our table it was delicious. I love a good bolognese sauce and Sofi’s passed the test. Overall, it was a pretty good dinner.

Food was decent. Service was good. The lamb chops were quite good, but the side greens were strangely flavored. My wife enjoyed the seafood part of her dish, but thought the risotto was bland. Tiaramisu was pretty standard, no problem finishing it though :) Heads up, the cheesecake is served warm. Nice spot downtown. Not a "must-stop" though for me.

We dined here for the first time with another couple. Beautiful restaurant, nice ambiance, food was outstanding with freshly made pastas, risottos, meat dishes, paired with an extensive list of wines and cocktails. Excellent Printer’s Row gem! Albino made our evening very enjoyable. Christian, the manager, was very attentive and nice as well.

@lydieats 💕 Sofi has this amazing patio space with an Italian menu that feels and tastes nonna-cooked 👵🏻 Perfect spot for summer nights. I rly like the baby octopus app. It has this nice charr and gets served with Yukon potato and pesto relish. Tastes like you’re on vacation!! Their pastas have yet to disappoint so choose whatever sounds good 🍝

All the food was amazingly delicious, and the service was perfect. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this as our first meal out for our honeymoon.

My daughter did a Quick Google search for Italian restaurants in the area, we were visiting her at school, and wanted to take her out for her birthday. Sofi restaurant came up on Google and we ran with it. Best decision. We walked in an hour before they closed, I figured they’d be quite annoyed with a group of four walking in an hour before they close. Instead they were incredibly welcoming. Service was amazing. Food was even better, probably the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Great birthday dinner experience for my daughter. Thank you! We will definitely be back!

We dined here our last night in town and it was delicious. We brought our five year old daughter and she had a side of pasta with red sauce while my husband and I each had a delicious option from the menu, along with an appetizer and glass of wine. We split some sorbet for dessert. I had the gnocchi. They were pillowy soft and the pesto sauce was delicious. My husband enjoyed his dish, but I don't remember what it was. We had great service. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and everything was brought out to the table in a timely manner. I'm so sad we live in a different state and can't go back because this would easily become a go-to for.

My daughter and I went here for dinner. This was our first time in Chicago. The following is was amazing. This is the first time I have had Limoncello. I now want to learn how to make it myself! I have recommended this restaurant to a friend who is going to be in Chicago next week.

We dined here as a party of 3 the night before the Chicago Marathon. I had made a reservation ahead of time because I didn't want to worry about not getting in somewhere the night before the race. This place was SLAMMIN. The food spoke for itself. 100% authentically cooked Italian food every step of the way. The ingredients are great quality and you will not be disappointed with anything you order. That being said, there was a glitch with their reservation system that night, and there was a backup for tables. We were comfortable waiting, and the quality of the food was never sacrificed even as tables were being turned over and over all night. We 100% would recommend the food here, the staff is so kind, hard working and insistent on you enjoying yourself during your dining experience!

It s like local italian restaurants vibe. not too big and wooden table and chairs. set up like in europe. Food and wine we pick are great. Our server is great as well. recommended to try.

A really nice spot for Italian fare, a sort of perfect mix of upscale and down-to-Earth. I enjoyed a delicious meal of braised mussels and the mushroom pasta. The servers were really friendly and attentive too!

Enjoyed a great evening at Sofi. From the wine, through the appetizers, to homemade pasta, and dessert, this place was excellent. Our server, a gentleman from Colombia, was wonderful. Amiable, knowledgeable, with attention to detail. Will be returning the next time I'm around.

Quaint little Italian spot in a sparse area. But wow was the food amazing. Some of the best veal and sea bass I’ve ever had. Limited wine selection but what they have goes great with their food. If I’m ever in the area again it’s an easy choice.

The hostess will be your short with you as others have mentioned BUT she gets the job. She's a no nonsense lady and I appreciate it, we didn't have reservations but she sat us down inside. I made the mistake of getting a cocktail, this is not the place for it, I'll say that is my bad not theirs lol. Very cozy, the food was really good, the waiter also down to business but attentive without making us feel rushed or lured over. We were visiting from Texas we moved here from Jersey and have missed Italian food SO MUCH. This place satisfied the craving, we'll be bacl next time we're in Chicago.
