Living
at
River
City
was
certainly
an
experience.
From
living
right
on
the
river
and
seeing
the
boats
every
day
and
seeing
the
bright
green
when
they
dye
it
every
March,
to
being
walking
distance
from
Grant
Park,
Millennium
Park,
Michigan
Ave
and
tons
of
close
by
restaurants
and
things
to
do--
the
location
is
unbeatable.
It
is
very
safe
as
well.
Close
enough
to
the
hustle
of
the
loop
but
not
in
the
middle
of
it
and
easy
access
to
all
L
lines.
We
also
lived
in
a
townhome
on
"River
Road"
and
our
apartment
was
excellent.
Living
there
for
2
years
felt
more
than
comfortable
with
2
stories
and
plenty
of
space
to
entertain
and
live.
The
building
also
had
its
own
mini-market,
beautiful
rooftop
terraces
and
an
apartment
gym
that
set
all
other
gyms
to
shame.
As
a
competitive
powerlifter,
I
did
not
even
need
to
join
a
gym
since
all
of
my
needs
were
met.
Maintenance
is
also
on
it.
They
are
always
there
within
an
hour
of
a
request.
The
reason
for
my
star
count
is
the
management.
River
City
needs
to
be
better
managed.
Management
has
lots
of
odd
rules
and
does
not
manage
upkeep
of
the
building
very
well.
A
lot
of
the
amenities
are
nice
but
they
are
usually
missing
SOMETHING
crucial--examples
include:
only
one
set
of
clips
for
the
barbells
that
need
them
(3
are
needed--
a
resident
ended
up
buying
a
secondary
set),
propane
was
never
filled
for
the
grills
other
than
one
time
we
used
them
successfully
and
the
fire
pits
NEVER
worked.
One
of
my
often
and
chief
complaints
was
the
dog
run.
Upon
moving,
we
came
from
out
of
state
and
did
a
virtual
tour.
We
were
ensured
we
had
a
large
dog
run
and
plenty
of
space...it
was
an
alley
with
gravel.
The
construction
crews
behind
the
building
also
frequently
used
it
as
dumping
grounds--finding
items
such
as
glass,
bottles,
cans,
cigarette
butts,
misc.
trash,
etc.
It
took
several
tries
to
get
management
to
clean
it
each
time
and
the
problem
persisted
throughout
our
stay.
When
I
would
email,
I
was
given
dog
parks
in
the
area...I
should
not
be
expected
to
walk
in
the
dark
in
downtown
chicago
as
a
small
female
to
a
park
a
1/4
mile
away-
no
matter
how
safe
the
neighborhood
may
be.
My
other
issue
was
the
plumbing
in
the
building.
The
plumbing
is
bad
on
river
road
as
it
all
feeds
into
one
main
pipe,
so
if
others
put
things
down
the
sink
they
shouldn't,
your
sink
backs
up
with
foul
odor,
greasy
and
dark
appearance
and
there
is
no
way
to
fix
it
without
maintenance.
After
the
problem
occurred
for
over
6
months
intermittently,
we
were
told
there
was
nothing
they
could
do...I
had
to
threaten
withholding
rent
in
order
for
them
to
come
in
and
fix
the
issue
for
good
and
once
they
did,
it
never
happened
again.
Last
but
not
least,
the
trash
chute
and
recycling
room
were
almost
always
full
to
the
point
of
not
being
able
to
shut
the
door,
disgusting,
or
simply
inaccessible.
With
as
many
residents
as
River
City
has,
they
need
to
be
checking
these
at
least
daily
so
residents
don't
have
to
wait
a
week+
to
dispose
of
items.
I
also
want
to
mention
that
parking
is
atrocious.
This
is
NOT
on
River
City,
but
is
important
to
know.
For
several
buildings
with
hundreds
of
residents
they
felt
it
was
appropriate
to
take
away
over
half
the
street
parking
recently
leaving
it
nearly
impossible
to
find
a
spot
you
pay
for
with
your
yearly
pass.
The
garages
in
the
area
(including
RC)
are
all
well
over
$200+
so
IF
you
find
a
spot
you
are
either
paying
the
equivalent
of
a
car
payment
or
on
the
street
risking
a
break
in
(happened
once
to
us),
cars
getting
towed
unexpectedly
(once)
and
of
course
street
cleaning.
I
do
not
recommend
having
a
car
in
Printers
Row.
Overall
management
is
very
dismissive
of
concerns
and
tries
their
best
to
hide
any
flaws
of
the
building,
unless
contacted
persistently
and
mention
of
rent
withholding.
That
being
said,
staff
is
very
kind
when
they
are
not
hearing
complaints.
With
better
management
over
this
complex,
River
City
could
be
an
excellent
place
to
live.
