This place is always lively and full of cheer. Probably the best Irish restaurant in Wisconsin and possibly America. The food is great and tastes amazing. There is also a hotel that is apart of the restaurant. Everything here is great. And when it comes to St. Patrick's day this place is even better and more lively. They also do live music everyday which makes the atmosphere even better.

My husband and I have come here a couple times now. The experience is better each time. It is a great location for downtown activities, the atmosphere is so warm and friendly and we love the pub. I have never tried a meal I didn't like, but the root soup is my absolute favorite.

Lucky to have stumbled upon County Clare Irish Inn & Pub for great food & drink in the Irish tradition. They are a gem tucked into the downtown area. Of course I ordered and loved the Corned Beef & Cabbage. Accommodating service, satisfying food, and we were blessed with a great outdoor weather & dining. Very Irish Pub style menu -- it appeared there are more drink options than food options, so many Irish whisky based drink options and where else do you find a good ginger beer? The inn side of the business seemed good, well- dressed happy people coming & going, ready for weddings and nights out in downtown Milwaukee. But we didn't visit to see the inn accommodations so can't speak to the rooms. Grab a few friends and try this Inn & Pub out for fun, or formal occasions. You will leave with a grin on your face & happy friends.

Wish I could give 10 stars ! My dream came true to stay right above an amazing Irish bar with tremendous staff ! Rooms were so cozy well laid out and relaxing. Soo awesome... And the first night we went to the bar restaurant and the fish fry was one of the best we had. The bartenders are amazing there ! After we just took the elevator to our room. So convenient. Free easy to use self parking a huge plus. Front desk crew all amazing working hard for you ! The breakfast in the morning was included and was tremendous. Chef on site making omelettes cooked to order. Just a special place full of happiness good ties and karma !

I loved this place!! The Irish food at the bar was great, drinks were amazing and the bartender was very friendly. Room was comfy. The large jetted tub was a nice plus. Omelettes to order, bagels, toast, soda, juices, water, and strudel is included for breakfast. The guy coming breakfast is a little dry with his personality though. Lol. But it was a great stay.

This review is for our four night stay at the Inn. They worked with us to fit our needs with our infant. The staff is friendly and professional. Location is perfect for downtown Milwaukee. The breakfast is phenomenal, and a great shoutout to Ben!! We sadly only had time to have one dinner in the pub, but the food is recommended as well. _____ The reason we are rating four stars is strictly the cleanliness of the room. Our feet would be black when we walked on the carpet. There are cobwebs on the light fixtures in the bathroom, and it looks like the shower head had not been cleaned in about a year. The room DESPERATELY calls for a deep clean due to the dust in the corners of the carpet and even on the couch arms and chair buttons. There were also small mold spots on the vent of the A/C. When we asked for our room to be serviced, our sheets were not exchanged out. Above all, the Inn was built in 1996, and it seems like the towels have not been updated since then. The quality of the bath and hand towels are the worst I’ve ever experienced. I considered rating our stay with three stars due to the cleanliness, but the staff and location bumped it to four.

Waitress was polite & attentive, service with a smile. Great pint of Guinness; full flavor with a dense head. The Shepherds Pie was rather good: plenty of flavor, nice pieces of tender lamb. Potatoes rich & creamy. Skip the bread pudding. Bland mush that was clearly sitting in a fridge for a few days, tossed in a microwave and cooked to the point I burnt my tongue. Carelessly topped with a squirt of ReddiWhip.

I love this neighborhood pub! It is very cute and closely resembles an Irish pub I visited in Dublin. I love the bar area with all of its dark wood. It is very cozy. I absolutely love their root soup.it is so delicious. I always order a side of Irish bread and butter to go with the soup. Their bread is very flavorful and dense. It is perfect for dunking into the soup. Friends enjoyed their vegetarian shepherds pie. It was huge and it looked really delicious. There is dairy in the meal. I believe it can be made vegan as well. The hubby always says they pour the best Guinness. The restaurant is very clean as are the restrooms. Wait staff is kind and very attentive.

Dinner with friends. Good food nice service. They have Bread Pudding! A few drinks and all enjoyed their meals. We've been there numerous times and always have a good time. Did not go to the hotel.

Beautiful rooms give a classic hotel feel. Definitely not the fanciest, most updated, but love the room we stayed in. Spacious, clean, and had a jacuzi tub. It has a great pub and bar for the evening, and fresh omelettes made to order along with a standard continental breakfast in the morning.

Excellent food and dining atmosphere. I had never gone in before because when it says "pub" I imagine someplace loud, dark, and sticky. It's not that at all! Lovely decor, staff was great with our large group. Wonderful restaurant!

What a wonderful little reasonably priced boutique hotel! County Clare feels more like a well appointed B&B than anything. It's got a cute little lobby, a fantastic pub, and the rooms themselves are warm and cozy with large jetted tubs. Location is excellent, too. Thumbs up for the pub - food's delicious, staff is attentive, and the price can't be beat. Highly recommend pitching in $10 for the kitchen crew (it's an option on the menu) - they're rowdy and grateful when you do! 😄 Can't wait to come back for another visit!

Always wonderful service. Each room has a jetted tub and is in the heart of Milwaukee, easy access to the Hop and downtown attractions. They offer great rates and a parking lot if you are a guest at the hotel.

I can not tell you how wonderful this place is. They are like my second home. I recently moved an hour north. Leaving this place behind was one of the hardest things I've had to do. Food is out of this world. Drinks are fun and funky with a bit of class. Live music is always the best. The lighting and ambiance are stellar. And to top it off, this place is one of the few pubs where you can buy "Kilkenny"... to be clear, this established holds a dear and special place in my heart. ENJOY!!!

I have stayed at the hotel one night and eaten at the restaurant many nights. I’ve never had a bad experience here. My husband and I love the food and atmosphere as it reminds us of our time in Ireland. We will definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in.

Have stayed here a few times now and am yet to be disappointed. The County Clare always provides a good experience from start to finish. Rooms are reasonable (and so book up quickly), very clean and a good size. Whirlpool tubs and walk-in showers are provided in every room I've stayed in. Parking is a bit dicey, but they will take care of it for you if there's nothing available when you get there. The pub itself is fantastic. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and the best pint of Guinness you'll find in town. Can get busy and noisy at the weekends, but which good places don't?! Decent breakfast, with made to order omelettes, is included and available from 8-10 in the morning. All in all they provide a wonderful alternative to the big box hotels in downtown Milwaukee.

My first experience staying at County Clare Inn will be hard to top. Check-in was easy and smooth. Any questions I had about anything were cheerfully answered by whoever was manning the desk, cleaning the rooms, or working the pub. The room was comfortable and quiet. To some, it might seem dated, but it reminded me of places I had stayed in Ireland and Scotland. I can't wait to come back. If I can't stay there next Milwaukee Irish Fest (someone has to cancel as it is fully booked Fest weekend), I will stop in for the food. Great place!

Classic Irish pub with nice rooms. Probably not catering to business travelers, more of a couples get away but that doesn't stop our guys from staying here. Reasonably priced rooms and restaurant with exceptional quality. Staff is professional and friendly. Here for business but will be back for a visit. Picture of the pot pie, excellent.

County Clare is the jewel of Milwaukee! We stayed for 4 nights in late August / early September, so had plenty of time to get to know the Inn and its people. Dresha greeted us with warm enthusiasm and our room had an open layout that we absolutely loved. There is a jetted tub in every room! The food in the Pub is hearty and rich. We went back for more, canceling plans elsewhere. From your table you can tip the kitchen staff - - a hardworking crew that few restaurants acknowledge - - and when you do, they thank you by clanging their pots and pans! And your server will cheerfully pour you a nightcap to take back up to your room. The rates are competitive. No more chain hotels for us! We like to go to a different place each summer, but County Clare is definitely worth another visit.

We rented two rooms on the last night of our stay in Wisconsin. We arrived a bit earlier than the stated 'check-in time', and were told that we would have to come back at 1500. This was the only hotel on our trip that did not allow us to check in early. The bar and restaurant were comfortable, and we preferred the food to St. Brendan's (same owners) in Green Bay. Not many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Room was alright, though bed was not particularly comfortable. Nice to have included breakfast, though we had to check out prior to breakfast being served.

Great location withing walking distance of Brady street activities and lots of restaurants. Service was amazing as was the food. Rooms are slightly dated but that is also part of the charm.

The best Irish pub in Milwaukee! You can't get a better Guinness anywhere else. The servers and bartenders are great, and I've always enjoyed the food. They have occasional live music inside which is fun, and the outdoor patio is great during the summer, especially if you want a pet friendly place! They have Irish beer and liquers, but they also have a great selection of local brews! I highly recommend stopping here, and reserve in advance if you want to stay overnight. The rooms are clean but quaint, and you get a free Guinness with each night of stay. Slainte!

This was my first time stay at the County Clare Inn & Pub and I had such a wonderful time. I stayed in one of the “smaller” rooms situated next to the elevator and I found it to be still incredibly spacious, comforting and the cottage core style was lovely. You could not hear the elevator at all! The bathtub in the room was incredible spacious and easy to use as well as the shower. We also chose to dine with the pub during our stay for dinner and it was just so charming. The food was delicious and as a vegetarian who is sober with a partner who likes beer and meat, we both had a lot of options to go for on their menu. We also were able to get a breakfast voucher with our stay and it was far beyond the normal continental breakfast we assumed. The omelettes were made to order by a wonderfully kind chef and we enjoyed our breakfast amongst the authentic and gorgeous decor and a beautifully lit Christmas tree. The staff at the front desk was polite and so helpful in explaining the unique qualities of the hotel and throughout our stay I felt as though we truly discovered one of Milwaukee’s hidden gems. I could not recommended this boutique hotel more!

Sunday dinner was the occasion. The pot roast melts in your mouth. The flavor was delicious and the portions were generous. Pricing will not require a second mortgage. Very reasonably priced. Carrot Cake was yummy. Food is prepared fresh so there is a bit of a wait but well worth it.

Really pleasant stay. Great food, drinks, and service in the pub. Tasty breakfast. Friendly and knowledgeable staff at the front desk. Comfy rooms. Walking distance to the art museum.

This hotel does not deserve more than 2 stars. I arrived at 3:40 on a Friday to check in and was greeted by a very friendly front desk clerk. I asked for two parking passes since my husband was showing up separately. She obliged and said it wouldn’t be a problem because there would be open parking spots later. I went out again at 4 and the front desk was swarming with people. I left before dinner and didn’t come back until 10:30 with my husband. Someone was blocking the parking lot with their vehicle, so we felt unwelcome and parked 3 block away (closest parking), and found out from the night manager that the bar manager had parked in the lit and left his vehicle there later than normal. My husband had to wait for the bar manager to leave to park his car and then he left to move my car into the lot and left my keys with the front desk. The other worst part was housekeeping knocked 3 times quickly and then let themselves into our bedroom at 8am. We had the Privacy Please sign in the door - they had to remove it to put their master key in. We were sound asleep until that happened. My husband told the front desk woman in the morning, who said they had new housekeepers. The room is spacious, the bed is not that comfortable and the noise in the hallway/from other rooms was clearly heard in our room. The best part was the chef’s omelette. I wouldn’t stay here again - maybe it’s better on a weeknight, but not restful at all for a Friday and certainly not an anniversary night.

We certainly enjoyed the hotel and pub. Can’t say enough about the hard working, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious....fish fry was a ten...lightest crispiest crust ever. Continental breakfast with made to order omelet was very good. Decor made you feel you were in Ireland. Room was comfy. Furniture was a little worn but it made you feel homey. Linens were great as was the bed. Nice jetted tub. No negatives from us. Husband loved all the great beers and the bartender was great talking about them. Parking was free and safe and you can walk to many places. Loved whole experience and we will return.

I have never taken the time to write reviews, but they have taken me down the right path more times than I can say, so they are very important and useful to travelers and customers. We just took a quick trip to Milwaukee and I booked two nights at a little gem based on Expedia reviews, County Claire Irish Hotel & Pub. This could not have turned out any better. The ladies at the front desk were so accommodating, friendly and helpful. I asked about an upgrade I saw on line and just like that it happened. Bought tickets with parking for a concert, a security block on the phone app wouldn't allow me to forward, print or screen shot the parking pass and they tried everything with me including offering a personal laptop to get this pass. I never had success. The hotel may have a two star rating on Google, but I assure you everything you need for a pleasant stay is right there. It's a perfect location giving you easy access to to all the fun districts of the area. Museums, restaurants and entertainment is within walking distance. The exterior may be a little deceiving, but please walk into the Pub and enjoy a beer, cocktail with Patrick or have dinner and you will be sold.

Loved the big rooms, loved the food and drinks in the pub. Loved the complimentary breakfast, their chef makes perfect eggs. Loved how cozy everything was. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely the best place in Milwaukee. I moved to the MKE area recently and this was one of the first places I went to. No other place has compared since. The food is amazing and always made fresh. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and never disliked anything. The service is beyond exceptional. On my second trip here they remembered me, my name and that I had recently moved to the city. Every server is attentive, genuine and always puts you and your experience first. The atmosphere is clean, warm and inviting, and never feels stuffy. Definitely your best go to for a night out with friends and family when you want to grab a good meal/drink for a great price and have an amazing place to chat.

Great service, unique atmosphere, and a delicious authentic menu are the cornerstones to this place that rise it above. If you have company in town visiting, this is a restaurant to bring them. It doesn't just shine brightly in Milwaukee but has international appeal as well. Be sure to ask your server how to get a room in Ireland.

Never stayed at the inn but love the pub! Been going for years to have coffee by the pretty stained glass windows, fire and listen to Irish guitarist. Best Bloody Mary in the city! Love a lot of the menu for dinner and brunch but dreaming of the Irish root soup. My husband and I were married at the courthouse and came here with a few family members to celebrate for dinner. Always great service and cozy

Had a great stay at the County Clare, if you are not Irish when you arrive, you will be by the time you leave. The people are very welcoming, the rooms was very large with everything we needed. Having breakfast for two included was an unexpected treat. The pub was amazing, everyone joined in conversation which led to a very special atmosphere. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by, you will be glad you did!

This hotel made our stay!!! The guy at the front desk (I never grabbed his name), Patrick, CC and Aaron in the bar really are amazing people. So friendly, the food and the service was amazing and the rooms were beyond our expectations! Not to mention just the feel of the hotel. The music, the laughs, the smiles.. it was a home to us by the end of our stay! We can’t wait to be back!! Breakfast was amazing also and just sitting outside sipping our coffee every morning was beyond peaceful! Not to mention we dropped our car key in lake MI and had to have our car towed back to the hotel.. they were flexible, helpful and beyond compassionate with our situation!! We are beyond thankful!

Recently stayed at the hotel for two nights and had dinner one night. Restaurant and Pub get a 5 star review. Family met us for dinner the day we arrived. We had various dishes including the corned beef, Guinness stew, and cottage pie. Everything was delicious. Pint of Guinness I had tasted then other ones I have had. I would go back just for a pint of Guinness and a could fingers of the 12yr RedBreast. The hotel is another story. Definitely needs some updating and maintenance. Wife loved the jacuzzi tub but the faucet handles were loose and she thought they were going to fall off. When I took a shower, I felt like I might fall through the floor. It was denting and did not feel solid under my feet. There is also a vent of some sort under the window. In the middle of the night I could hear the kitchen employees talking and washing dishes. The carpet was old and stained. There was also just a shade on the windows that light in on the sides. All other place we have stayed we have become accustomed to black out window treatments. All employees we dealt with were extremely helpful and nice. We will definitely go back to the Pub. And if some renovations and updates are made we will give the hotel another try.

Honestly, it's pretty outrageous how good the food is here. I got the Shepard's pie and damn it was it delicious. Also, the vanilla Guinness is absolutely fantastic. Lastly, the cheesecake was phenomenal. Ahh. Highly recommend visiting this pub and literally trying every item on the menu. Cheers!

I’ve been staying at the Clare for over a dozen years now! Granted, since Covid things have changed a little there, hence the 4 stars and not 5. The service is still good but not quite like it used to be. Anyway, it’s too good a place to talk too much negativity. I like the suites over the “regular” rooms. Stay in the suite if you can. In the pub, the shepherd’s pie is great! And the Guinness is world class! I also really appreciate the omelet bar they offer for breakfast.

We ate in the pub on a Friday night, and had a phenomenal experience. Service was great, and food and drinks were all delicious. If you're a dessert person, do not skip out on the bread pudding - it's a dessert and drink all in one! The atmosphere was cozy; it felt like we were in a pub across the Atlantic. We're looking forward to returning to the pub, and would like to stay in the inn in the future.

I came in with my dad and his two friends and the service was PHENOMENAL!!!! Lauren was the most attentive server I’ve ever had. My dad and I were waiting for a while for our friends and Lauren was back and forth making sure we were okay, as well as immediately came back once she saw the other 2 arrive. She checked drinks, filled them immediately without being asked, and was an absolute JOY of a server!! I adore you, Lauren!! Keep doing great and being such a shining star for us all! You deserve a big raise!

We really liked the place & it was near where we wanted to be. It is a hidden gem not to be missed. The Pub was great- dinner & breakfast- the food was very good & the variey was good. The Inn was very pleasant and the rooms are amazing. The only flaw was that we had worn out towels. For the price, I would have liked fresh & white ones. Otherwise the stay was great. Comfortable bed, great shower, large room. We had a great stay. Staff was the best- from the desk clerk & wait staff to the chef in the morning. I absolutely loved all the sayings stenciled in the Pub.

Always great food here! Never a bad experience. Colchannon Poppers a must have!! Rest of the menu well done. Fish fry to corned beef to shepherd’s pie! Drinks and beer- great selection! The atmosphere is cozy and laid back. The bar is a nice chill space. We love coming here :)

My Irish husband and I absolutely love County Clare! We've stayed here a few times and have always had a great experience. The rooms are quaint, all of which have whirlpool tubs. There is a nice in-room coffee/tea station. However, it's arranged around the sink, which doesn't leave a lot of room for those who need to do more than brush their teeth. The beds are on the firmer side but very comfortable. The included continental breakfast, served between 8-10 am, includes a made to order omelet station and an assortment of bakery and other items. The traditional Irish fare served in the pub is served hot and delicious. We were able to try a few things on the menu during our stay, and I would recommend it all. This is a great place to visit and stay, for a real taste and feel of Ireland!

Recently moved to milwaukee, and needed to stay here for a while. Staff is very accommodating and rooms are very clean and well sized. The whirlpool tub is great and rooms are quiet and comfortable. Having a restaurant downstairs is great, and the free breakfast is great when I had the time to get it. Parking in back, off road. Overall a definite recommend for somebody wanting a quiet and safe place to stay.
