1/12/22. This place recently just opened so I decided to give it a try on my way to work. I called and ordered takeout, I ordered the tamale combo which includes rice and beans and 2-3 tamales of your choice, food was ready in 10 minutes and it met and exceeded my expectations. Authentic in taste, especially the pineapple tamales that I ordered, well cooked, and not to mention, courteous staff there that I was welcomed with. Underrated place, hopefully these guys get more business from newer customers around the Chicagoland area. Definitely a go-to restaurant if you want to grab a quick bite. Will be coming again for sure.

Was looking for tamales to take to my sister out of state. I called them the day before and they were able to fulfill my order. Tamales were very nicely wrap. They did recommended to go with the red tamales but we have always like the green ones better. I did get half of my order green and the other red. I regretted not taking more red. Their red tamales are so good. One thing I do want to point out is that their tamales are wrap in banana leaves instead of the corn husk but they were still very tasty and delicious. I would give them 10/10.

Chepis is a gem! Their Birria Tacos are so authentic and flavorful, ask for hand made tortillas! It's a small in/out establishment, staff is really nice. We will certainly be back!

Had the taco dinner which comes with 3 tacos of your choice with a side of beans and rice. Tacos were delicious! Lime was fresh. The verde sauce was also delicious. Will be getting this taco dinner again!

This small counter service place is a hidden gem for sure. We picked up tamales from here, we mixed it up and got 4 different varieties. Each one was fantastic! Tamales are not something I would usually go out of my way for, but for sure this place is going to be a regular stop from now on! I can't wait to try their other menu items ! Edit: this place got even better! The birria tacos are absolutely delicious and their Cajun seafood boil is out of this world! Believe me, try the food from this place, you will be happy, happy, happy!

One of my favorite things to do in life is tacos! This place has set themselves apart from the competition! I had a steak and pastor taco which was absolutely tender, flavor was amazing. To top it off they make handmade tortillas! Highly recommend this place and don't skip out on grabbing a tamale too! I'd rate them 10 stars ✨ if I could!!!

Great food, Tamales are unique unlike the street tamales you find in Chicago. They are filled with alot more flavor and wrapped in a banana leaf which offers an even more unique flavor. A++ would buy from again.

I ordered a pork tamale with red sauce (salsa roja), chicken tamale with green sauce (salsa verde), chicken with mole Oaxaqueno, and a steak (asada) taco. If you like banana leaf wrapped tamales, you will like these tamales. Of the three tamales we ordered, we liked the mole tamale the most. There is one long table by the window.

The food is as authentic as it gets! Everything is right on. No words would give a fair explanation of the sensation to your palate. You would just have to taste and find out for yourself. I’ve traveled around broadly in Mexico, and I cook based on my true experience and memory of palate instead of recipe books. I consider myself a picky Mexican food eater as most of the Mexican food in America do not meet my standards for true Mexican cuisine, but this place! It is nothing BUT AUTHENTIC! Excellent service. Limited dine in capacity. They are all about the food!

Tamaleria y Antojitos Chepis is a true hidden gem! Their quesabirria with handmade tortillas is out of this world. The flavors are incredible, and the staff is incredibly kind. A must-visit for delicious food and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Best tacos and tamales around- family owned and very friendly staff. We eat here at least twice a month, and will be continuing to do so. Highly recommended!

Tried this place for the first time today. Everything was so incredibly delicious. I ordered a tamale combo plate and I had a mole pork tamale along with a chicken verde tamale. Both were absolutely incredible. And the beans were better than any beans I've had with a meal. The rice was alright, but everything else was so good that this place still gets 5 stars. Going to be my go to spot for lunch, especially since I live in the neighborhood attached to it.

The pictures show corn husk, but they actually use banana leaf which lends to a very different flavor. The meat was seasoned like mole both chicken and pork, could not tell the difference other than one of them had crunchy sand like bits in it. No salsa with takeout order or napkins. Awful experience. No thanks.

Great little family owned Mexican joint that offers a lot of authentic food. I had the tacos, tortas, tamales and special (chicken, cheese, onions, lettuce, avocado on shell) and all were great!

I came to try their tamales. The menu board says to order an hour ahead of time but they did actually have some ready. I got a dozen of 4 different flavors. I just took some first bites of their " verde" chicken and a cheese and pepper tamale. They came wrapped in banana leaves. Good amount of filling. AMAZING 😍 flavor!! These were definitely excellent tamales. 👌 Some of the best ive had. Ill be going back to try their flautas. Give them a try, they are a small family shop.

First time visiting. Food was delicious! Jaime was so friendly and helpful. The mild green sauce in my tamale was a bit much for this spice wuss but it tasted soooo good, I ate it up anyway. The other food was marvelous too. I will definitely be back. No pictures; ate it all up too fast!

Do yourself a favor and visit this awesome spot. The service is unmatched. The staff/owner truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best tamales we had while. Highly recommend!

I’ve been on the hunt for good tamales and didn’t even realize this place was just opened. The tamales are amazing, the customer service is so friendly, and prices are great. They’re wrapped in banana leaf and twice the size of a corn husk tamale. The red sauce is spicy but bearable and the green sauce is super flavorful, you can taste the tomatillos. Been recommending this place to everyone and will continue. Just an amazing spot!
