Personally I think this is one of the coolest places to ride in the area or even if you don't ride you can hike or even take the trolley and still view the old mine pits. The bike park is a fairly new addition to the already existing park. A lot of history behind the place and it's so cool they have made it accessible with trails. It's located at the Discovery Center where they have a lot of cool information on the mining pits, also has a gift shop, kayaks rentals, and even a bike shop! As for the riding, I love how they incorporate the rocks in the trails, lots of good flow with plenty of random rock gardens and rock features thrown in between. It says all skills levels, but I'd say you'd have to at least be a tad experienced to get through it. Lots of elevation change and some crazy cliff exposure, some of THE BEST views while riding I've experienced.. had me stopping every few minutes to just take it in. Definitely would recommend checking out!

Best trails on the iron range. It is so much fun and you meet the nicest people on the trail. Plenty of trails for all levels of experience.

What is there that cannot be boasted about? Trails for all riding levels, wonderful views, diverse geography, and all within the uniqueness of an old mining pit. There is nothing like Redhead! We have been riding these trails all spring and summer and they are still challenging and fun. Redhead is not a place to miss!

For the past year my wife and I have been traveling the country full time. We have biked in almost every state, at every major downhill park west of the Mississippi, ridden trail system in all major bike towns and I tell you what RedHead Mountian can rival the best of them. Really impressive system. Great use of natural features. You can find flow, tech, and a general mix for any rider. From their greens to double blacks we were thoroughly impressed. Also great to see them looking to add trails in the future! No matter your preference for riding, XC, Enduro, or trail riding they have a trail system here that will keep you smiling and wanting more!!!

As advertised. This park is the real deal for walkers, hikers, runners and mountain bike enthusiasts. With ages in our group ranging from 3 to 63, we took a four-mile hike through winding wooded trails that open to gorgeous views along the rim. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, you will not be disappointed.

These trails are awesome! We had so much fun riding here. The trails are challenging but great at the same time. The climbs are difficult but the downhill runs make it all worth it. If you are into mountain biking then these trails are a must. Also the views are breath taking.

Went for a hike today on a few of the trails here, will definitely be back to explore them all! Only saw 3 guys on bikes, we just stepped off to the side to let them by. All were friendly and said hi or talked a bit. Great addition for our community as there's not much to do up here. Trails have tons of different elevation and terrain so really fun!

It is most likely named the Redhead Mountain Bike Trail because only 2% of the population can probably do this! That being said, we did it! Rented bikes and didn't destroy them. I wish I could say that I didn't fall but there were definitely some tumbles. I had a helmet but I would HIGHLY recommend elbow and knee pads. Bring a lot of water, not just one water bottle! Bug spray and sun screen are also a must! I'm so glad we did this but expect to be sore in places you didn't know existed! Very narrow paths and vibe prepared to be hyperaware of what your bike is doing! I would walk this trail as well, mountain biking is just more risky! It was great, don't let my rant scare you, let it prepare you!

Amazing trails. The views are awesome and hardly anyone there. The trails are on the easier side, and very smooth, perfect for hardtails.

Great trails. Well built and consistent. Mostly flow trails, nothing very difficult or technical, but lots of fun. Could be enjoyed by riders of various skill levels.

This is one of the best trails in the entire state, hands down. So scenic, and the trail builders did a fantastic job. Pit Plunge, Orange Crush, Weeper and Fractured Falls are must dos - there's nothing else like these in the entire Midwest.

Great trials for beginner. Took we kids and we did 11 miles. 9 10 and 11 year old boys. And we all had blast. The variety of trail is what sets this trail up. The views are great. Only thing I did not like was that there is only one trail head.

The beginner trails are more like beginner 1.5. The terrain was had for me as I have only just started to mountain bike. That being said, the trails are well maintained and great for hiking πŸ₯Ύ as well as biking πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ. The north road is perfect for those who literally only just starting to get into the sport.

Absolute must ride! The Redhead MTB Park at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm is shaping up to be the best and most unique trail system in the Midwest. This world-class park offers riding for all levels, incredible scenic vistas, stunning geography (reclaimed & sky blue water filled mine pit), a wide array of terrain, unique rock features, and a grand canyon like feel in some areas of the park. The park is about 50% complete and currently has 15.3 miles of world-class trails open for riding! The park is expected to be complete in the Fall of 2020 and is anticipated to be 25-30 miles of nothing but rad trails! The Minnesota Discovery Center (ALSO A MUST SEE THIS PLACE IS AWESOME) is the trailhead facility (also a museum and 660 acre historical campus) for Redhead MTB Park - offering riders free parking, indoor/outdoor restrooms, the Miner's Daughter Gift Shop (bike accessories sold here), and the Rustic Pig Food Court (high quality food, great tasting, affordable) open Thur, Fri, Sat 12-8pm. You have to check this place out, there's nothing like it!

Great hidden trailhead at MN Discovery Center. Trails are intermediate bro advanced, and provide lots of options. Don't miss a milkshake from the stand, giros from yanni's or a pastry at the bear claw for pre-post ride eats!

Super fun single track. Can’t wait to get back. Hopefully better signage on the trails next time. However, getting lost just helped us explore more trails.

Fantastic Mt. Biking trails... quite the gem of parks and will only get better with another 15 miles of trails to be added.

Outstanding new mountain bike trail system. Might be better than Cuyuna (more variety) if not for the extra drive from MSP.

This is an excellent trail system that I believe opened in 2019... I spoke to someone who works on the trails and he said they have plans for adding more trails as funding becomes available. This trail system was once an iron mining area. Beginner, intermediate and advanced trails that offer beautiful views and exceptional riding

Absolutely gorgeous, great technical trails, so much fun! We have biked and hiked- and swam. The beach area and water are beautiful. I haven't seen this blue-green water anywhere else. The old mining pits are a breathtaking backdrop (and drop!), and the water is so cold and clear. A lot of the trails are super difficult but fun. Plenty are more doable levels. The area town is super cute and fun, with plenty of great places to eat and shop. Area campgrounds are very nice- either the Chisholm campground or Mcacarthys beach 15 minutes north in the Side Lake area. McCarthys is one of the best campgrounds you will ever visit- rustic with virgin white pines towering above, plus a huge sugar sand beach that is shallow and perfect for kids. The Redhead is definitely a great family getaway.
