Honestly, donā€™t go there. Pros : Itā€™s clean, and good location, but definitely not worth for money. Cons : ā€¢ The host, Wilson, is terribly RUDE. Some examples: 1) I arrived late at night and the hostel was closedā€¦ scared to stay outside I told him about it by message to which he answered Ā«Ā of course it isĀ Ā» šŸ˜¦ (then a volunteer arrived) 2) I asked one day if I could leave my luggage somewhere for 3 days (i was planning to do a little scooter road trip through the island) to which he answered Ā«Ā yes I just ask 10RMā€¦ per day!Ā Ā» ā€¦ a little surprised I gently said it was a bit expensive, that Iā€™m backpacker and 6ā‚¬ for a backpack in the corner is quite expensiveā€¦ Ā«Ā business is businessĀ Ā» he said, adding that if I was not happy I could go elsewhere. šŸ¤Æ 3) I asked for a key for the locker, itā€™s was 10RM deposited. I have 50 ans because he didnā€™t had the full change he said ā€œI keep 30 and give you back when you leaveā€. Ok. I left at 9:45 morning and tried to call him for 30min before, asking for my 30RM. When he answered he said ā€œno itā€™s 20ā€. I calmly said it was 30 and I finally get them. Is it Alamo business Mr. Wilson? ā€¢ The light work only when putting the room card into the support, which is in the female dorm located AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM, next to one of the bed. You have to climb the bed to access to it. šŸ˜± ā€¢ No proper common area. No table to sit, juste a couch. If there is more than 3 host together, someone has to sit on the ground or staying up.

Big shared rooms. Clean toilets. Overall cozy environment. Owners are really nice. I was not allowed to wear house shoes in the accommodations with the explanation that nowhere in Malaysia shoes are worn in houses. To the question what should I then wear in the wet bathroom I got the reply that it is only water. But I suppose that depends on the receptionist, but overall the receptionists during my stay were a bit unreasonable. That's half a star deducted and the other half star I deduct from the missing bed curtains.

Excellent location, clean with an interesting library. The owner is friendly and helpful with travel tips or good restaurants. It has filtered water facilities and refrigerator

DONT GO HERE! First impression was very bad.. we booked 3 people and when we arrive he was not there, his friend was and told us we can go for lunch and come back and Mr Wilson will be there then, we went and 10 min later got a ride phonecall that we should not leave our bags there without checking in, later when we got back (40 min after we first arrive) he was friendly at the beginning but then told us that what we booked was only for 1 person and that we needed to pay a lot of money in cash NOW he was rude now and stressed us up in hope that we will give him his money, we phoned the company that we booked thru and they were helpful and told us we was right, they called Wilson but he didn't intrudused himself, he was very rude and even hanged up in the middle of the call after he told her lies... In general don't go there!!!! There is much better and cheaper places with a good vibe you can get!!!

Very rude host, the owner himself, Mr Wilson. Beds no blinds for privacy, blankets tiny can only cover your feet. Cleanliness and location ok. Mainly just the host, very rude. Suddenly asks for payment upfront at 2pm through PayPal even though I sent an email to say arriving at 6pm.

hi, Wilson and guys! it was great that I chose your Guesthouse, I traveled alone and it was nice to feel that there are people who care about you and worry, can help and suggest something! and of course the hostel itself is very clean, new, quiet place, although located in the center of Gorstan. I recommend it to everyone and I will definitely stay with you when I'm in Penang! Thank you so much)

Awesome for the price! The 12 Bed Dorm room is very nice, comfy beds, a very strong AC, shower and bathroom, you can get free water, coffee and tea throughout the day and the location is wunderful. Just a 5 Minute walk to all the Streetart, nice foodstands, bars and restaurants. Would love to stay here again sometime!

Responsible and welcoming owners. Facilities are worth it for the price paid. Too bad when I stayed there during my last few nights there were a 3 rowdy and rude British youngsters with alcoholic problem and harassing the girls. One of the black woman (guest) was very rude and causing nuisance to other guests by taking up the whole room space for her belongings. Other than meeting with the bad guests, the owners and other guests were friendly and welcoming.

Amazing hostel with kind owners. They showed me the best places to get food and I appreciate that greatly. There is a mosque close to the hostel tho and in the morning you may wake up but I didn't wake up because of it.

Value for money. Place was clean as in picture. Blondie was so sweet we had conversations togather very often in various topics. A little bit noisy because of the nearby mosque they have mention about it during the booking. From this place, can walk around to street shops and other famous restaurants too. Other than that, grab service is also fast at this point. Recommended
