Hostel

😠 A friend was asked to cancel their reservation because “we don’t accept Middle Eastern guests”. They denied this being racist and justified it by saying “you are all too complicated”. I wouldn’t support this business. Spend your precious hard-earned money elsewhere People often mention hostel, cancel, reservation,

If i can give u zero star i would do , they asked a friend to cancel her reservation without her money back . They mention we dont receive people from middle east. You are racist and not fair. You want her to pay for your racism so u get her money and through her out.

They don’t even deserve one star! They dropped a reservation without even meeting the person saying “please cancel your reservation, we don’t accept people from Middle East. Following up with another msg saying “it’s not racism you all too complicated". I’m absolutely shocked by this behaviour. Please if anybody out there cares do not support this hostel anymore.

This place rejects guests based on their nationality. A female solo traveller friend got her unrefundable booking canceled because the place „doesnt receive guest from Middle East“. I saw the email. That is unacceptable and just wrong on so many levels. After my friend left a negative review they justified again by saying „you all are so complicated“. WOW! That review and their reply is not visible anymore!? However, I recommend to avoid this racist and unprofessional place. So much better options in Penang.

Please do not support this hostel, as they are racist and highly discriminatory in their bookings. They asked a girl to cancel her reservation saying “we don’t accept people from Middle East." They wouldn't even cancel it themselves! They wanted her to cancel the reservation as it was a non-refundable room, so they would still get paid for their racist practices.

Deserves 0 stars and the owners deserve to have their business shut down. Absolutely horrendous that they’d tell a guest to cancel their booking because they “don’t receive middle eastern guests”. A disgusting hostel run by disgusting people.

Such an amazing welcome, it is a family owned guesthouse. All your questions are answered and more, you get great tips on where to eat, what to see and how to get to your next destination. Available and generous. Very good vibe

What a wonderful family and hostel. If you read the negative reviews you can tell they are fake and must be from some other hostel/guesthouse that has lost business to them. If you stay here you will know instantly that they are false. So disregard the negative ones and find out for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised. Thank you

A nice and friendly hostel in the city center. Balan has always some time left for a talk and gives perfect recommendations where to hav dinner or what to visit and how to get there. You can feel that he organises this hostel with his heart...

The family at Bahari are unbelievably welcoming and help plan your travels while you're in Penang. The beds are spacious and comfortable with charging ports and white-out screens and the AC works well. Quiet hostel but not far from tipsy tiger hostel which is the place to party. Would stay again for sure.

The owner was friendly. I booked female dorm but they gave me in mixed dorm with one male in it. I love the concept of bunk bed. It really nice with mirror, simple table, electricity hole, and curtain to make your sleep privately. It has old fashioned building (i love it) and public room was clean and simple. The location is the best.

Lovely family owned guest house. The owners are so lovely and their daughter is awesome and cute. They are very accommodating. The bedroom is clean and the bed is nice and the carpeted 2nd floor made the place look more fancy. Having the balcony is a great plus in our stay. I'm sure we will enjoy the 2 more days we have left in this place. They have a very reasonable rate and good location. Totally recommended for travelers alike.
