👍👍 Great place to hang out, have some vegetarian middle eastern food and a drink. The Falafel they make is authentic and tastes very delicious. I have tried the stuffed grape leaves on the side and they have been fantastic as well. The price is pretty decent and the guys running the stall are welcomin... Came by for a late night bite. Falafel was cooked perfectly and ingredients were fresh. However. The young guy made my wrap skinny and without much veggies. As I saw the other two gentlemen making big delicious wraps for customers inside. Slightly my let down. But enjoyed it never the less. Thank you.

Reggae vibes, kindly staff, the restaurant is separate of the bar, so they will be very happy as you order this amazing falafel 🧆 wraps also some drinks 🍺! Bazooka falafel wrapped 🌯 is super taste, they do it with love, total vegetarian 🌱 and vegan 🌱! Anyway the menu is quite assorted so you have good things to choose! Totally 💯 recommend guys

Wow some pretty tasty falafels! Best falafels I’ve ever had! Everything looked so amazing when it came out I forgot to take a photo before I started to eat. Great spot if you looking to enjoy a vegetarian meal!

absolutely delicious and authentic falafel here. the hummus is great, but the yoghurt is on a whole different level. The falafel is crispy on the outside but so yummy and soft on the inside! so in love right now, going to return that's for sure!

I had two meals here at Vegan Falafel penang. The first was good, I got the falafel wrap, which was tasty albeit a bit expensive for the size. I prepared to write a 4/5 star review. However, my 2nd experience was much worse. We had just started eating when (I think) the manager arrived at our table and asked us to buy from the drinks menu. I was already drinking a bottle of water. There are no signs to not bring water or other drinks inside. I pointed out it was a bottle of water but was informed to buy drinks or leave. The wrap wasn’t as good as previous. Overall, I think the drinks are provided by “Red Lion” and the food by “vegan falafel”. I recommend doing what I did, enjoy the food but be prepared to walk away if pressured by the staff/management.

There is history in this place. It used to be a man with a dream selling what he wanted to expose to Penang in just a cart. Over the years and hardwork, that has transformed into an actual store that you see here. It is open late at nights as well. The falafel wrap was too good. The sauce and falafel are just too damn good. I could have gotten another one but opted to try new items. The grape leaf was my pick and that too was delicious. With love lane right around the corner, do show some healthy love to this joint

Making my way through the menu and the food here is great! Fresh, simple flavors and good value. Falafel is tasty and cooked well, the hummus is fresh and always leaves me wanting more. Service is fantastic, the guys are really friendly and patient if you have a request not on the menu. I've eaten here three days in a row and recommended it to many friends. Go and grab yourself a meal and see for yourself!

Couple of friends told me about this place so I went by the other day. I‘ve tried so many Falafel places around the world, this has been one of my absolute favorites so far! Super fresh and they make all their own sauces and pickles…. So glad I didn‘t miss out on this experience

The vegetarian vegan food was excellent and have been operating there for past 10 years. They are part of the Reggae Club where you can sit and enjoy the food. You order the drinks from the reggae club, soft drinks, fruit juices and beer also available.

A pub that serves vegan food. Easily the best falafel I had. Vegan chicken wrap was good with various contrasting textures between the wrap and the various ingredients Vegan schnitzel was well fried with the provided salad and flatbread Vegan chicken burger was also great with a bit of heat. In general, the items were fried well and not overly fried.

Slight expensive, but one who only wants to have vegan food it’s completely okay. Location wise goood. Tables are arranged on the streets/road side to sit. Food was good and tasted well. Overall it was a happy experience

A nice vegan bar whereby you don't worry if typical vegan food establishment closed after 7pm. I am very impressed that they cater so vegan people won't be left out when other people enjoy drinking and eating non vegan food during late night partying. I love the serve vegan finger food for light eaters and vegan wrap dishes for heavy eaters. They also have some mini game for you to play while wait for food to serve. The environment is clean but since it is open air concept, loud music can be heard from other bars nearby. The service is friendly and food is fast too. Parking is limited so you need to part further away.

12RM for a DELICIOUS falafel wrap. 🌯 I love falafel but it is always a risk that they are dry...I saw them cooking them fresh and it was a WINNER move to buy from the little stall!!! 😋 This was the best falafel I have had! 😍😍😍😍 I loved the sauce too. The whole wrap was fresh and delish! I wish I lived here coz I would be a regular for sure!!! Try it!!!! ♡♡♡♡ The staff were friendly too :) PS. If you want to eat at the small tables they have out the front, you need to buy a drink too :) 🧉 🥛

Stumbled upon this place and decided to try their falafel plate. It is good! The plate comes with what was described in the menu. They were generous with the salad. I had a take-away and it is nice that it came in a paper/cardboard box and one without plastic lining. Would recommend this place.

Great location and menu, the falafels are freshly made when you order and so aren't dry and tasteless like they are in a lot of other falafel places. Bread, salad, and sauce (especially the garlic dip) were all delicious. There is a very lively atmosphere here too, and excellent service from staff. Food and drinks arrived quickly. There are a lot of options so we would like to come back and try the rest of the menu!

📍Vegan Falafel @ The Original Reggae Club, Georgetown We stumbled upon an AMAZING GEM in Penang, especially for vegans and vegetarians! Just writing about this is making my stomach rumble. Who would have expected a hawker-like stall at the side of the road making perhaps THE BEST 'Falafels' in Penang? 🥑Just look at the expertise shown in the way the cuisine is presented. Everything screams of chickpeas mashed to perfection, and prepared by skilled hands. We had the Hummus Plate, Baba Ganoush, Samosa Plate and the Falafel Wrap. ALL 4 dishes were AMAZING. It was incredible! 👩‍🍳The young chef, Ali, hails all the way from Syria. With 7 years of experience in this trade, and the fact that the craft of making 'Falafels' actually runs through his veins, makes the dishes extra authentic. 🍆You can't miss a gem like this. This is something I'd recommend everyone to give a try.

Delicious homemade falafel!!!! . Beside that, I love their hummus. One thing i really dont like, the bread abit cold and hard to chew. Great place for vegetarian lover. Payment method as per (November 2023) : cash, grab pay or touch n go ONLY . NO CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD. Staff are friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work. Definitely will coming back again.

We are so happy to see that this place remains open for business. Let's continue to support it! This small place serves big flavors and is a must-try here in Penang. The dishes are perfectly prepared, fresh and flavorful. We had the falafel plate and baba ganoush. The falafels are light, fluffy and crispy when fresh fried, and remain light and fluffy even after they cool down. The hummus is simply perfect. The baba ganoush has a fabulous smoky flavor. The garlic sauce is the best, and the salads are fresh and delicious.

We ate dinner here on 3 or 4 nights of our week stay. It was close to our hotel and open late, and during the weekday, the servers had no issue with us not ordering drinks from them. By the weekend, we were told we needed to buy drinks from them per the owner, so we decided not to go back. The falafel itself is good, though not the best. I like herby falafel where you can see the green inside. This falafel is more bready, like a hush puppy, but always delivered hot and fresh. We got the Arabic plates which were delicious, and even ordered a spicy sauce to accompany, but there still wasn’t enough sauce. More hummus and garlic sauce would be better, and maybe a few more pickles (I think I had between 2-3 depending on the day). We also got the schnitzel on our final day eating here and it was a nice change, really good. The curly fries tasted a bit over cooked but still good. Overall I’d say this is a nice dependable spot for falafel if you want to order drinks with it.

A clean & cool look to the interior of this shophouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and delicious. I had a falafel wrap which was a generous size & the tastiest I’ve found in Penang. (They also have free WiFi ☺️)

I was looking for a vegetarian restaurant which still opens after 8pm and this was one of the results which was near me. A tourist spot. The parking lot opposite this cafe is not cheap at all... RM10.00... my my... Totally a tourist feeling at my own living place hahahaa. The food we ordered was okay. Something different compared to other vegetarian restaurants.

The falafels here taste great, so did the special sauce they use with the schnitzel! The place operates as a stall outside a bar, so if you wanna eat in you'll need to get a drink

Tasty, cheap, easy and quick! Perfect for a quick pit stop. Open at convenient times (11am to 12am I believe) Nice staff and great location to sit and prop watch on a busy Main Street in Penang!

Great place for some falafel, congrats to them having their own place now, they’ve previously been operating along the reggae club next door. Food prices are decent for the quality of the food. Drinks are also available, from alcohol to soft drinks. Great place for hanging out with friends. 10/10 place with friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a try.

  • 5/5 Ben G. 9 months ago on Google
Delicious falafel! I’ve never really had “good” falafel and always found it to be a bit dry or lacking in flavour etc. This was fresh, hot, crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, all spiced and seasoned to perfection. Only small improvement would be to give two of the small breads instead of one with each dish. Seems a bit mean to only give one given the cost. Ps- don’t be put off by the fact it looks like a bar, the food is epic!
