Cosy hidden space at City Gate with excellent food. Got the umami salmon toast. It was really generous and super flavourful, nothing like what I had before. Highly recommend!

The food is really good, per all the reviews here. I had carbonara, maple syrup duck & egg, steak & egg and bolognese. The first 2 were superb while the latter 2 were well done. The place is small so don’t expect amazing ambience or great service, but this is the place to get legit delicious food. I will be back to try their lunch menu!

Well deserved 5 stars in term of value and food quality. Been trying to look for well balanced menu cafe around Lavender/Kallang area. Healthy, tasty and good value. This is definitely my top vote! I’m glad that my husband brought me here, usually we have to spend over 30 -40 dollars per person for typical salmon based option. Here for $21 you get seared salmon with scrambled egg the perfect combination! Coffee is decently good, my husband had the Thai Pork Ragu linguine ($15.90) generous amount of pork with just the right portion of pasta (60/40) definitely worth every penny. Hope they can gain more awareness to sustain this business and more customers can benefit from their generosity and good menu offerings!

The food is excellent and inspired by western food with also a selection of Asian dishes revisited with additional flavours. The place is low-key and priced affordably while the owners are welcoming! Highly recommend! Disregard the fact that it is in a mall and you won't be disappointed!

A gem of a find that’s tucked away in a mall at City Residences. Incredibly well-executed with generous portions - we had such a satisfying brunch with the umami smoked salmon toast & coconut beef stew. Definitely worth checking out, if you happen to be in the area!

Superb food at an unpretentious place, and we loved everything we ordered. Beautifully presented food. Wide menu selection, even for the drinks. We had the kakuni toast, coconut beef stew, japanese maze & sakura ebi fettucine, japanese hamburg, house salad (so refreshing), cold brew iced tea with passionfruit mango jam, dirty mactha. Friendly service too. Will definitely return!

Once the food is presented, start eating with your eyes and nose. The visual feast is stunning as it was beautifully plated. Then the olfaction, it smells good as well. Both Mr Kakuni and Soy Sauce Salmon were delicious. Portions were quite filling. I like the Sea Salt Latte as well, sea salt is one of my favourite ingredients. Wanted to try the Pastas but there are limits to what I can achieve. Another time.

A hidden gem inside City Gate. Had a tough time deciding what to order as everything sounded good. We ended up having the Cereal Chicken Katsu Don and Thai Pork Ragu Linguine on our first visit here. Both were amazing and we’ll definitely be back to try more of Evan’s amazing food!

The chef prides his skill on offering a modern-Asian menu. A cozy restaurant tucked in a quiet corner in city gate mall. I had the Kakuni toast, paired with big cabbage pickles which balance out the heaviness of the pork belly. The sour dough hold everything well together without falling apart. I love their high mountain oolong tea from Taiwan, with osmanthus. Evans style breakfast was normal, not impressed.

This is one of those places that is a true hidden gem. The chef is a former chef of Goodwood Hotel and his food is INCREDIBLE. Need I say more? Do yourself a favor and eat here. ❤️

We got the eggs and duck and signature brunch and they were amazing! The matcha latte and sea salt lattes were also delicious. Especially the sea salt I never tried anything like it before! Evan is so friendly and kind and it was really cool to speak to him and hear his story. The location is in a shopping mall but don’t let that deter you because it was some of the best food we had in Singapore!

Hi Evan, thank you for operating during the first day of 2024 so small families like mine can have a memorable day. This is by far one of the most delicious brunch we have had, your combination of ingredients used are so robust and fresh with hints of fruitiness. The quality of the food for this pricing is very reasonable and it's as good as some famous brunch places. Furthermore, scrambled eggs at most cafes/restaurants taste pretty much the same, but yours we can taste the passion 😲💨👍. Nonetheless, a prosperous year to you and your small and humble cafe. We will definitely visit again!

Great food, I tried a few times and I totally recommend this place...super tasty. I would suggest the Duck leg was delicious and the Coconut Beef Stew with pasta. Thanks for the good vibes Evan !! Cheers
