The Grinch's Lair was a lot of fun! My three-year-old is a huge fan of the Grinch, but of course, when it came time to see him in person and take a pic, she freaked out. πŸ₯΄πŸ˜‚ The gentleman playing the Grinch was super sweet with her and then had us go downstairs and pose for a "family picture" while he came up behind us so that she couldn't see him, and we were able to get a fairly decent pic. The decorations were nice, and everybody working the event was friendly.

If possible by your ticket up to a week in advance. You can get tickets at the door or online the same day but there is a 2 1/2 wait. Since we had bought ours in advance we only had to wait about 10 months. It's OK for the price. I would like to go and explore the jail in a museum atmosphere. I love to go to museum's like that. I have been to alcatraz in San Francisco, CA also.

Super cute surprise. We drove from Austin for the Polar Express (NOT a super cute surprise!!!) And we stayed the night so the littles wouldn't have too much car time. But, as mentioned in the negative review about the manager at the Polar Express, there isn't much to do in Palestine. In fact, at the hotel we stayed I asked the receptionist if there were fun things to do, she said "absolutely nothing". Anyway, I googled on my own and found the Grinch's Lair at the jail house. It's an awesome little tour. It was all kinds of fun with several photo ops. The youth running the place were helpful, friendly, and great with kids and after a cool tour through the jail, the kids got to meet and talk to a friendly grinch. If you're in Palestine, you should definitely see the Grinch at the jailhouse. It was a cute idea.

We love this place. Our favorite event is the Grinch's Lair in December. Truly a magical experience. The owners are wonderful and of course Mr Grinch is perfectly Grinchy.

We did the overnight jailhouse paranormal experience. We have a great experience and enjoyed it tremendously. The hosts were the best! We can’t wait to go back.

My family went to The Grinch’s Lair at the Texas Jailhouse. It was fun and enjoyable. Everyone was personable and very helpful. We enjoyed meeting the Grinch and got quite a few pictures throughout the tour.

This was a fun thing to do in the area. It was a little scary at times for the kids and felt like a haunted house in parts. I'm not sure how much Grinch it was... More just a Christmas experience from room to room than anything. Maybe a history tour would have been cool as the history of the building was still visible throughout.

My Grandson said it was a TEN! Nana and Papi agrees. It was the best of the best in Palestine. Don't miss it.

WOW! We slept in the jail! My wife and I had a great time at the Texas Jailhouse with our jailer, Jeremy. We met him at 7 pm for the tour and the history of the entire jail. After that he had our cell ready for us to spend the night. Of course we were not locked in. The night spent was very quiet and peaceful. What an Adventure! Jeremy was so kind and trustworthy, he put us at ease from the time we walked in until the next morning. This was truly an unforgettable experience. Thank you Jeremy, my friend.
