Interesting little stop. I don’t see a lot of coffee and wine shops in my neck of the woods. The coffee was the kind of high quality you would expect from a place like this. If you’re hungry, asked to try one of their homemade pop tarts, they don’t keep them on display because I they’re so popular! The guava cream one I had was to die for 🤤

Sound & Fog is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. A modern-looking shop tucked away in a residential building, Sound & Fog finds itself in the busy Downtown West Seattle area but somehow maintains a local, even hidden, gem vibe. I can't really tell what went right during my first visit that propelled me go back again (and then of course again and again), it was probably the way the barista asked me about my day, as if he was actually curious. I didn't get that a lot in Seattle. Sound & Fog features a rotating list of domestic and international roasters, their latest international picks include Coffee Collective from Denmark, Manhattan from Rotterdam, Morgon from Gothenburg. It's definitely my favorite place to get beans in Seattle. Beyond coffee drinks and pastries, Sound & Fog's carries a small but quality selection of bottled wines curated by owner Justin with handwritten notes, and they recently added chocolate bars to their offerings as well. I was excited to find Portland's cloudforest chocolate bars at their store. Back to coffee, Sound & Fog never disappoints. West Seattle seems a desert for great coffee, I had too many bad experiences at many West Seattle coffee shops, often well loved by their neighbors for the convenience, but in fact lack quality. Sound & Fog on the other hand, stands on top even among the best coffee shops in the entire Seattle area. Their lattes are always a pleasure to have after a run in the perpetually chilly West Seattle. Rose and Rob are fantastic baristas, warm, caring, upbeat, and definitely know what they are doing. They have made West Seattle a sunny place for me.

Cute coffee and drinks bar, likely the best coffee in West Seattle. Each coffee drink is served in a dedicated cup or glass. There is a curated small market place too. There were no pastries when we visited, macaroons only, which tasted great.

One server greeted me when I walked in and was very helpful, the barista that made the coffee was not very friendly at all. The latté looked beautiful with a heart design on top, but I didn’t think it tasted that great. They served a light to medium roast mix from Ethiopia and Brazil. I was very disappointed in the taste of the coffee, it just wasn’t that good. Also, I ordered a savory bacon cheese rosemary pastry (from Macrina’s) and I asked them to warm it up for me and the barista said they don’t do that with a very cold look on his face. I had the same pastry at Dubsea coffee and they warmed it up and it melted in my mouth but here it was only served cold straight from the case. So that’s another strike against this place.

Cute little coffee shop here in West Seattle right behind the busy Fauntleroy road. Stopped by and grabbed a spiced chai latte (which I loved) and an apple cider (divine). Both drinks were on point and tasted great. Staff is friendly and they do have some merchandise is store available for purchase. I would love for them to have a loyalty punch card so I can keep visiting them daily if not weekly. Lovely that we have such a nice coffee shop in our West Seattle neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Truly the best coffeeshop in Seattle, and it's not even close Every detail is great, but what brings them so far into the lead is the coffee they sell (and brew) They bring in a cornucopia of coffee from roasters around the world, with an incredibly wide array of constantly changing offerings. If this is your neighborhood coffeeshop, you are blessed. Personally I make the pilgrimage most weeks. Yes, they also have a thoughtful and excellently curated selection of chocolate, tea and wine. But they are not the number one chocolate, tea nor wine place in Seattle. They are the number one coffee seller. But if you have to buy a gift or bring something to a party, you will easily find something interesting here.

When first moving to Seattle I stopped here for a much-needed rest between apartment viewings and it really changed the course of that day. This coffee shop is amazing. The staff is always kind and knowledgeable, it is always immaculately clean and service is never slow or ingenuine. They offer a wide array of pastries daily, a selection of wine and beer as well as cafe accessories. I bring everyone I can here and each person has been thrilled.

Sound & Fog is a coffee house in the middle of West Seattle. I enjoy their Cardamom Latte. They also have beer and wine although I haven’t come in for either. The place is nice with a contemporary feel. Sound & Fog is close to my work and is a nice little get away.

Video is nitro cold brew. Impressive assortment of coffee, tea, cold brew, and flavored cold coffee and tea beverages. Refrigerated case has lots of oat milk beves including a few chai options. No wifi and poor cell reception doesn't make this a good remote work spot....and that seems to be management's intention. Per a little (not photoed) sign, they want customers to have a seat to enjoy their beverage (and not linger on wifi). Fair enough. Staff is passionate about coffee and it shows. Great little spot overall.

Quaint little coffee shop a block off the Main Street. Lovingly crafted beverages and pastries with an elegant vibe. The blue latte is a unique flavor and absolutely worth trying.

Great coffee! Had a great savory scone. The place itself is small though, but it has some nice outdoor sitting.

Cute and clean coffee shop! No indoor seating, but there are a few tables outside. They have milk alternatives including oat and hemp milk. They also sell coffee beans, tote bags, hats, shirts, beer, and wine. Would recommend stopping by.

No wifi. Good pastries and kind service. Espresso was under-extracted and sour; doesn't sound like this was the typical experience, though. Close to Alaska Junction but still off the beaten path.

I had the best matcha latte I've ever had in Seattle here this morning. It's made with real matcha and only lightly sweetened, not like so many other places that use sugary flavored powders. Thanks!!

Great shop, friendly staff and lattes that are in my top five best in Seattle. Pastries were great and some fun merch and chocolate as well. Thanks to Jackson for introducing me to oatmilk!

Had a great experience here. The staff were super friendly and gave us some suggestions of nearby spots to walk around. I got a seasonal citrus soda that was delicious and my partner really liked the coffee. The baked goods were also super tasty. Really happy with this place and street parking was easy.

No WiFi… is this a coffee shop? Delicious high quality drinks. Tasty macaroons. Unfortunately, I discovered the no wifi situation after the purchase, so I had to go elsewhere in search of WiFi.

Easily my favorite coffee shop in West Seattle! Staff is always super friendly and helpful if I have questions about buying coffee. Just delicious, everything I’ve had! My go to is an iced Americano, highly recommend.

Sound & Fog is the best local coffee spot I've experienced in Seattle. Their standard espresso roast is Stereo Blend by Heart Roasters Coffee (hailing from Portland). All of their drinks are incredibly tasty and have such full and smooth flavors. If you're interested in beans, they feature rotating specialty roasters from excellent roasters around the globe. Some of these are hard to find online and fly off the shelves. That's not all, though! Sound & Fog consistently curates a variety of unique delicious wines, vermouths, and vegan cheeses/chocolates. Oh and they have a killer Instagram. Seriously, go check it out. I can't say it enough, stopping at Sound & Fog is a must before brunch or whenever you next visit West Seattle. Or move next door and you can visit a few times every day like us!

The presentation of the coffee was excellent along with good service. You can add different flavors to your coffee, Latte and etc. quick and easy

The coffee they give you is from one of those thermos things and no telling when it was brewed, but the cup my husband got was bad and not hot. The mocha I got tasted like steamed milk, no flavor. Threw them in the trash and walked over to Starbucks to get a better cup of coffee and a better mocha. So much for eating/drinking local at that place. We will stick with Uptown for that.

Sound and Fog is our go-to coffee spot. They have great cold brew for me, a nice cardamom latte for my wife, and a range of pastries that include a couple reliable gluten free options. I'd also say they have my favorite matcha. Recently they started serving wine, which adds another solid option to West Seattle, and they have a great selection available for retail purchase. We've gotten to know the staff in the 2 years we've been in the neighborhood, who are all very knowledgeable and friendly. We buy a lot of our home coffee from them since they have such a great rotating selection.

One of my favorites in west Seattle. Great coffee, with a fantastic wine selection to boot. I love to go on a weekend and pick up a fancy bar of chocolate as a little treat

Such a nice vibe here, the drinks are perfectly prepared with a smile. The scone I had was exactly how a scone should be IMHO just crumbly enough to break off bites without it being a mess. The weather was perfect so I sat outside. Great way to start the morning.
