Absolutely amazing coffee. A new local business on 3rd in Renton. They have excellent coffee and pastries, and will be starting up their own roaster soon. The place has beautiful artwork and is a real treat for a bite and coffee. I ordered a Flat White, and it was as good as I have had in Europe. Just fantastic. This will be one of our new local haunts.

Great coffee. Cool vibe. Pastry wasn’t fresh but still tasty. Would be useful to have a visible menu while waiting in line. Menu is only visible when you’re at the cash register people in the back waiting for you to choose.

The interior of this coffee shop is so spacious and nice! There are plenty of seats at the windows. They also roast their own coffee here, which is really cool! The coffee tasted really smooth. I got a lavender latte and it was one of the best that I've had! There's a list of seasonal drinks at the counter which I think all sounded good. My partner and I got a chocolate croissant and an almond pinwheel and they were both very good. The almond pinwheel was filling and the chocolate croissant was nice and flaky. This is a really great coffee shop!

I came here for a cultural coffee ceremony and I totally enjoyed it. Although I am not a big coffee drinker, I loved the presentation and networking opportunity. My wife got coffee at the end and she liked it. Sign up for this cultural experience and find out more about Ethiopian coffee and the origin of African coffee. Parking was easy to find. We parked a couple of blocks away from the venue.

Before moving out of town that was our place to go every weekend for coffee! Best coffee in the area! Very friendly stuff! Great atmosphere! I miss the place a lot!

Go here!!! The owner is so delightful and the employee enjoy their work. This is more than just a coffee company. They are actively involved in social justice and advocate for the local (and international) people. The drinks are also perfect. Best coffee and tea drinks I have had in the area. They also offer gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan options for their bakery items. AND! They enforce the mandates. I refuse to go to other places (like Candor Coffee) where they do not enforce the mask and vaccine mandates. Boon Boona takes all of the steps for safety. There is no seating inside, but they do have a restroom as well as covered, outdoor seating.

Amazing coffee shop in downtown Renton. I came here on my way to the airport. The coffee is delicious. They roast the beans on the premises. Great art behind the counter. If you need to work on a laptop there are quite a few spots along the window.

Okay...that almond milk latte was way too good. Shockingly delicious and just perfect. The espresso itself had a perfect roast flavor, nor burnt. The layer of foam on top was delicious too and the almond milk was delicious. I loved it. I tried their cookies and loved the salted one, not sure of the name. Big bright windows, lots of tables to sit at, bright lighting. Good spot for meetings and study space

Went there for a quick brunch. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches tasted great. We ordered a water for my son and after 15 min I came up to the counter to ask for it and the barista standing near the one making it made a face and rolled her eyes. My pesto chicken sandwich took 20min to be made. The gentleman apologized but when I received it-I was disappointed. The lower bread was stuck to the paper so the sandwich fell apart and I had to eat it with a fork. Overall food was tasty but the service was lacking.

My favorite coffee shop to work. Great customer service with a great outside and inside sitting. Great music, such a nice place to sit and catch up with a family or friend. Coming back again.

I got the wildflower honey latte and it was really good. I wish I had sized up just to have more. I would definitely come again to try other flavors. Their coffee itself has a great aroma and the coffee was nice and hot (not warm). Loved it will come again!

Great people, lovely coffee, delicious pastry, Umami Kushi is served here and it’s GOOD! The atmosphere is incredible and was busy for hours around lunchtime in a Thursday. Good people watching and larger cafe lounge. Cool production area. Clean bathrooms and in a great location with lots around.

Impeccable espresso and service, everyone here is super kind. Shots of espresso come with a little glass of sparkling water on the side to cleanse your palette. The drink specials are will of flavor without being too sweet. The vegan treat on the table I can’t remember the name of but is delicious and I’d highly recommend. The artistic and natural vibe in the lounge area invites you to stay and relax or work remote. Love this place

If you’re in a hurry, this may not be the place for you. I see it as a good thing, though. Boon Boona is a great local hangout to enjoy some good coffee alone, or visiting with friends. I am not a big coffee connoisseur and their drip coffee is not my favorite. So, I order lattes and love those. What makes this spot special? It’s local, a nice addition to downtown Renton, has great atmosphere, and is a fun place to work or hangout. Cheers!

By far my favorite cafe in the state. The service is impeccable. The East African diaspora homage that this establishment hosts is unlike any other business I’ve ever experienced. The quality of the coffee is almost like the cherry on top. Which usually isn’t the case for most other places. The owner is so respectful! I can easily imagine how much effort him and the staff has put towards creating the ambiance of Boon Boona. From a consumer standpoint, I wish I could put 6 out of 5 stars. Great job everyone!

Coffee here is great! We tried the lavender latte and rose cardamom latte. They both taste good, lavender one was most fragrant. We also got the tree hugger breakfast sandwich and a turkey sandwich. The tree hugger was VERY bland and tastes like something you can throw together at home, could use a few speckles of pepper or something. the turkey sandwich was really good though. The prices are a bit high with the sandwich $10.50, breakfast sandwich $6 . The 12oz coffees were $6.25 each. Pretty costly for decent sandwiches and coffee, but a cute local small business supporting African based coffee. We liked it 🙂.

Boon Boona has excellent word of mouth, and I've been meaning to try it for a long time due to the rave reviews! My husband and I have finally tried it a few times over the past month or two. The baristas and person taking the orders are SUPER nice. Every time we've been there, its been a different person doing the orders but they've always been very sweet. The coffee however, leaves much to be desired. The large americano we had was super watery. We tried a few lattes with regular milk and oat milk, both just didn't have much flavor. The first time we went, we bought some beans, and they were great! It just didn't translate to their espresso for us. We're definitely in the minority here though and it's great to have a beautiful business like this in downtown Renton. It's just not for us.

Found this place while looking for a coffee shop in Downtown Renton. It was late morning during the week and it was not crowded. Most people came and gone after having a drink. Free Wi-Fi is provided which was working fine for personal and business. There was plenty of seating from the dining tables to barstools along the window. You can see them grinding the coffee fresh in the store. Sat down for about an hour as they request you limit your visit to 90 minutes. Ordered a matcha latte and a peanut butter cookie while getting some work done. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The matcha latte tasted great as the matcha was very rich and of good quality. The cookie was soft and chewy. It was a nice place to sit, have a drink, watch downtown Renton, and have a small snack while just hanging out.

The coffee was yummy and the baristas were friendly. They even have gluten free, vegan, soy free muffins! The lemon poppy seed was perfect. My son loved the orange hazelnut pin wheel, and my husband loved his chicken pesto.

Great coffee, great food, great interior, great staff! I am so happy to see Renton has such a great cafe with the right vibe. Music can be better, but the staff is friendly, the coffee is great. The croissants are great and the Treehugger sandwich is delicous. I will come and work in here again. I'm hoping the music selection can be improved - give it a little Brooklyn vibe then this cafe will be an ace!

Delicious coffee - intense but not bitter or burnt, really loved it. There is plenty of room to sit and work or relax and material to read to learn something new about coffee or Seattle. Highly recommended!

Boon Boons Coffee is a great place to go for a delicious cup of coffee. The coffee shop is spacious and has a relaxed vibe. There is plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. When I was there, there was even live music playing, which was a nice touch. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the café. There were napkins on the floor, and the tables were not wiped down properly. I even had to wipe down my own table before I could sit down.

I came to buy some fresh roasted beans to my espresso machine. Service was ok. Place is big and spacious. It felt kinda empty when it comes to design. One thing I can say that the bag of coffee (12 oz) is way overpriced (20$)There is a lot of local coffee roasters around that have great coffee for much less… 12-15$. Parking was good. I went in the afternoon and there were few spots in front of the cafe. I think it is a good place for a bigger events. I didn’t get any food this time.

Great coffee shop! It’s spacious and the chai was awesome. Would love some more food options! Also I hate to even say this but there was a homeless man passed out at one of the tables, it was busy and I snagged one of the last avail places to sit. It felt a bit awkward they didn’t maybe ask him to leave. I feel terrible even saying that but it’s a part of life nowadays

We have ordered coffee online from this shop and it is exceptional! REALLY tasty and beautifully roasted coffee and fast shipping getting the beans freshly roasted and full of flavor to my home in Connecticut. Thank you Boon Boona team and keep up the great work! I will order again soon!

So consistent and delicious! My go-to is a simple 12 ounce drip coffee, and it's always excellent. They are also being very safe and conscious about corona germs--all baristas are wearing face masks, changing gloves between orders, and using tongs to pass out straws/lids. ALSO, their in house chocolate chip cookie is the best coffee shop cookie I've had in Seattle—YUM!

Boon Boona is my favorite local coffee shop. The employees are always friendly and the quality of their products is top-notch. The pour overs might take a little longer to get than a normal coffee but they’re so worth the wait if you’re somebody that enjoys black coffee. Pastries and Sandwiches are always good. The open layout is great to bring family or friends to come and have coffee with you. They also allow dogs inside which is a great plus! I always enjoy looking at the art on the walls and learning more about where the coffees come from. I recommend Boon Boona to anybody that really enjoys coffee.

This place has been a godsend to Renton. Definitely the best coffee in this city hands down. The owner is such a friendly and awesome human being! They also have some absolutely legit art for sale. I really hope to purchase a piece one day.

I moved back to the Seattle area from NY about 9 months ago. Landed in Tukwila and have driven by this spot a handful of times. I finally had a chance to visit and very pleased with the customer service, the pastries and the beverages. Absolutely love the ambiance. Will be my go to on the south side when I need to work from home.

It's amazing what Boon Boona Coffee has added to downtown Renton. It's quickly become a spot where everyone in the community gathers around the clock. It's always filled with families spending a day out as well as people conducting business meetings and others working away at their laptops. Excellent coffee of course, and I personally love their homemade cardamom rose syrup added to any espresso drink.

Yummy coffee and tea. Cute atmosphere and tons of seating. Coffee is smooth and rich. Not acidic or bitter. Perfect temperature to drink immediately.

They roast beans in house. They have single origin. They make some syrups in house. The coffee is great. What’s not to like? I always get lattes and I think the vanilla latte may be contender for best latte. Period.

Met the love of my life at the crossroads in front of this store. Coffee was good but tbh i was too nervous to take it all in for myself. Maybe now that we have parted ways ill give it another go. I do remember the green coffee they serve was quite flavor full. Also they have great sweetener. ?

This may be the best coffee I've ever had. Along with Sound & Fog in West Seattle, Boon Boona really stands out in the greater Seattle area for quality presentation, superior roasting, and just deliciously floral coffee. The baristas are talented! I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Just ordered beans online. They came quickly. Were better than any of the usual suspects (heart, counter culture, blue bottle, intelligentsia, etc) and allowed the added bonus of some green beans to practice the roasting process at home again. I'm guessing these are as fresh as the roasted coffee (sometimes a problem with consumer oriented green bean suppliers)

Incredibly comfortable sitting environment. Best coffee I've had in the greater Seattle area, and the pastries (Cookies are a must try) are so good! Staff is always in a good mood, and I see the owner even sitting with customers sometimes to check-in. Love this place, and it's so nice to know how ethical the coffee is sourced, compared to some of the big business/franchises.

I like this place. I just moved recently from the East Coast and most of the coffee shops in the East Coast have similar look as this coffee shop. The coffee is ok for my taste and the vibe is ok .. (guess there aren’t a lot of coffee shops that have this vibe in WA??)What I didn’t like abt this store is the line to get your coffee. The day I visited the store they had a long line and had only one register. And what I find that makes the line to move so slow was that they had only one register and their menu is on the table next to the register. So when customers get to the register they take their time to review their menu. This makes the process way slower and the lines kept getting longer and longer. I have seen customers to leave the store as they walk in cauz the line was longer...I know it is the West coast but hey I don’t have to wait that long just to get a coffee. Hopefully they will have their service faster and customers would get their coffee in and out...

Too hyped up. Only the space is nice, really. As a Barista/roaster from Olympia I will say that I’m sure the beans tastes better then what I was served. This is my 3rd visit and major inconsistency in the cup. Not sure why the hype. Thanks but no thanks Boon Boona.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon and I was struck how great the place looked. I wasn't able to go very far inside as they were still taking orders from the door, but when things are safer I would be excited to spend some time taking in the decor and design of the coffee shop. We finished our lattes and forgot to take a photo of them but we did take pictures of the sandwich 😂 and the take home coffee. We can’t come back soon enough-they make fantastic coffee and have a range of blends, they feature local artist’s works, they have incredible swag and check out their gorgeous flavor wheel. What’s not to love? Even their packaging is exquisite to the last detail. Absolutely a fan and I can’t wait to go back! They are still enforcing masking and distancing at this time as well. Thanks Boon Boona! *I added some photos on September 17th, including a latte picture this time :) Boon Boona is awesome and their staff are lovely!

Spacious and modern coffee shop in downtown Renton. My latte was excellently made and delicious. Love the idea that they support local community and artists On the other hand, my experience wasn't perfect. I was overcharged before I corrected the barista, then when they prepared my breakfast sandwich, they accidentally dropped it on the back counter but simply picked it up and put it in the oven like nothing happened. In my opinion not the most professional way to deal with it.

One of my fav coffee shops in Seattle. I always stop by this place when I am here to grab food in Renton. The coffee here is amazing. I love their gingersnap latte just what I want always. The staff is fun polite and quick in getting you your coffee. I wish they had a loyalty card for their ardent customers. Highly recommend this place.

I love the people, the coffee, and the food here at Boon Boona. So grateful to have this amazing coffee shop here in Renton. Everyone here is super friendly and extra helpful! I love that they source their coffee beans directly from many of the African coffee exporting countries, and focus on supporting woman-owned growers. They are my go-to place for Christmas present shopping, for my coffee-loving friends & family. Keep up the great work!!

Super clean and cool place, staff is friendly and coffee is very good. Their blend seems to be more bitter then others, but coffee had great texture. Would’ve loved to see more pastry choices as there’s plenty of sitting area.

I have been going to Boon Boona for the last three years in Renton and it’s exciting to see how much they’ve grown. I’m able to buy the coffee now at QFC and I just recently discovered they have a location in Capitol Hill that I can’t wait to check out. Great coffee, awesome atmosphere and the owner is really nice.

Well…. I would really like to leave a more proper review. The space was incredible. Cool vibe. Roaster. Lots of roasts to choose! However…. They were sooo slow. A few people in front of us and we waited….and waited…. And couldn’t wait anymore to order. Had to leave without trying the coffee.

Enjoyed a Chai Latte with Oat Milk. Hubby sipped on a Vanilla Latte. Both drinks were smooth. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Boon Boona Coffee had a chill yet unpretentious vibe to it. Highly recommend! ☕️

Fun tamarind tea latte. Nice ambiance and open space. Super nice staff too - we asked for coffee sacks for home gardening project and they just game us one for free!

Excellent espresso, tasty cookies; large sitting area with lots of natural light and usually a lot of people. It can be hard to hear your drink called when the place is full, and it often takes longer to get your coffee than at smaller places. Really cool staff. Friendly owner.

Having a good atmosphere isn’t hard. Serving good coffee isn’t too hard. Having a smile or making people feel welcome in their local coffee shop, when they can spend their hardworking money at any coffee shop should be a small business #1 priority.

Service 5 stars Coffee 4.5 Prices 3 They are good- they run smooth, spot is clean, fun options on menu, kind staff and people in the shop. Unfortunately- they are just a bit pricey. (And I saw fruit flies in the pastry container holder.

Very good latte for a very cheap price in a very walkable area of Renton. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area running errands.

Excellent coffee and good service. Unfortunately I was disappointed to learn that they don’t sell the beans that they use to make espresso. They lost the opportunity for me to buy several bags of beans. In addition, I purchased a scone. It was without a doubt the worst scone I’ve ever eaten. It was more like a piece of bread with blueberries in it.

Popped in here for a pastry after I left the plant shop next door. 10/10 customer service and the dill scone I got was amazing! Only wish I’d tried their coffee - next time!!
