The coffee here tastes really good — like smooth caramel, quite complex and very balanced. Serious coffee lovers will enjoy it because indeed the coffee does taste amazing! 😋😋☕️☕️ I bought a bag of their coffee beans because it made sense since it comes with a free drink. Some people may wonder if $6 cup of coffee is worth it, I mean it is if you also get beans or the free gift mug with it. Other things on the menu is they make their own vegan milk and cinnamon buns — maybe next time to try those. Anyone who’s not sure how to get to the cafe, it’s on the top floor of the building and the entrance to their stairwell is beside the frozen yogurt shop.

Storyville is a HUGE surprise for what a coffee / pastry shop could be in Pike Place market. The issue with Pike Place recently is that the neighborhood has gotten shady and dirty, let alone smelly fish and dirty bathrooms come to mind. It doesn't bridge a street market experience with upscale comfort and style. Well, Storyville at the corner building, right at the entrance to the market, solves exactly that. It is at a prime location, swanky and clean interior, and located on the top floor that overlooks the main Pike Place market. As you climb up the stairs, you enter this corridor where you see this beautiful modern wooden interior - a complete surprise from what one is used to on the shops at Pike Place. There are leather couches and wooden tables all around, and just lounging while staring at the morning market getting ready for the day was simply magical. But now, let's start with the coffee and drinks. The latte. You must try the latte. It is simply one of the best lattes you'll ever taste. Also depends on the barista that makes it but at least mine was friendly and simply amazing. The cinammon roll with gooey frosting flowing... my god. There is a caramel and chewy textured glaze that is present which makes this pastry feel like a kouign amann. The croissants... they look straight out of a magazine page. They're not as world class as Cafe Besalu's but still up there. Storyville at Pike Place has definitely transformed my Pike Place experience. It truly elevates the visit. I highly recommend grabbing breakfast at Storyville at 8am to start your day at the market.

$7.5 for a cup of latte must be a joke, right? It is not. But that's not the whole story. I immediately left the coffee shop after seeing the outrageous price but after I already walked out of the building, I decided to go back and to see why a latte is worth $7.5 here. The coffee was just ok, but it turns out there is a twist: for new customers who are willing to give up their email address for marketing emails, you get a free mug with drink purchase. Or you get a free drink if you buy a bag of beans. So for $7.5 plus tax now I got a latte and a free mug, which seems a pretty sweet deal, except that I don't need the mug at all. I got it because it's "free", but not really either. If you don't know what is consumerism, this is consumerism. To be fair, the atmosphere here is pretty nice. It's crowded because it's Pike Place, but this top floor spot doesn't feel hectic like the market. The dim space has a cozy, even low key luxury lounge vibe. For tourists who wouldn't mind paying extra bucks to get a souvenir mug and enjoy a little break from the chaos around Pike Place, yeah this could be a great place.

Brilliant coffee! I haven't had a rich, full of flavors and well pulled espresso based drink in a long time. Storyville offered that and it was superb. I would recommend visiting them if you're at Pike place market. They have beautiful seating spaces with a view of water and mountains. Direction: it's a bit tricky to get there. Enter the market from 1st and Pike and on the right (next to a bookstore) there are a flight of stairs. There's a board too. Take the stairs all the way to the top floor.

Cozy coffee shop with views of Pike Place. Came here on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and there was a long line, but it moved at a relatively okay pace. There’s indoor seating available (no outdoor). Credit cards are accepted. Go up the stairs to the third level to get to the entrance. You order at the counter, pay, and then they make your drinks right then and there. Light pastries are also available. If you provide your email address, you can get a free mug. They have self-service items like lids, napkins, etc to the right hand side of the entrance. There were a lot of people sitting down but we were able to grab a table, and then move to the counter seating by the window to get a nice view. It’s more so a spot to hang out with friends rather than do work. We even saw someone bring their kitten into the cafe (the kitty was super cute) so it may be hard to focus (at least on weekends).

Great hidden coffee shop! I got a latte $8 and even though the price is a bit more than your regular local coffee shop. The coffee itself is great, but the best part is definitely the view and the vibe here. I also got a free mug by signing up with my email which took only 30 seconds.

I had walked by this sign a million times, but today, I needed to kill some time until a shop opened in Pike Place. So I followed the signs, up the flights of steps, to a wonderful surprise. They say that you can visit Pike Place once a month for a year and never see everything. I never knew this place was here. At the end of the hallway was this charming, personable coffeehouse that reminded me of how important it is to support independent places like this. The space was filled with leather seats and couches. A fireplace helped add a homey feel to it. The service was a bit slow to make, but that is because they bring your orders to you. They pick up your dishes and serve water, which is a nice touch. The view is part the main street of the market and a little bit of Elliott Bay. It's too bad they don't serve booze. All in all, if you're in the market, this is a VERY nice alternative to Starbucks.

Our friends all recommended to visit this coffee place. We couldn’t be happier! This is the first stop of our trip to Seattle. It’s a bit hitter, on the top floor of the market building. The pike place market was actually pretty crowded on a Sunday morning and all the coffee places outside had long lines. We were so happy that we were able to get seated here. They gave free mugs for first time visitors which is a welcoming experience! The latte was nice. Definitely worth a visit!

I went there out of curiosity to check out the coffee shop after eating at Pike’s Place. I almost walked out after seeing the latte price but my husband noticed the free drink with beans purchase sign and since we wanted to get beans anyways, seemed like a good deal for us. The cinnamon roll was also a sticker shock but since the drink was free, I ordered it as well. Wow, hands down the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had and the latte was the best i had in Seattle for my short few day stay. Looking at the reviews now, wish I had known about the free mug with drink purchase as a souvenir since it was such a pleasant experience. The service from the staff was equally exceptional as well. Definitely recommend!

First stop in seattle, a story-like coffee shop near pike market. I'd say it's located on the 3rd floor, but I'm very not sure how pikes market floors work. The stairs are a little hidden inside, so look for the signs. We waited in line about 10 minutes to get into the shop, and they even had a deal to to get a free mug for first time visitors. The espresso drinks are definitely on the expensive side, $6-$7.50, so getting the mug is definitely a nice gesture. We also ordered a bag of coffee, $17, which comes with a drink of choice, so at least we think we were getting something free out there, lol. After getting my drink, I finally get why it is expensive. The coffee is extremely smooth and tasty, without any bitterness. And the place itself just such a cozy and hangout spot; people feel no rush to chat, to work, to study, to fall in love, or just to rest from a flight. Most importantly, only two employees are making coffee and serving a full house coffee shop. And they are doing amazing job and are especially friendly and professional.

We stopped in while visiting from the East Coast because Storyville had a repeat as one of the best coffee places in Seattle. We were not disappointed. Their Mocha was excellent, the place has great ambience, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were glad we went. One note: Storyville can be a little difficult to find. It is on the second floor of a building opposite the main Pike Place Market building. Just head up the stairs.

Expect a bustling, slightly overpriced cafe situated above Pike Place Market with views of the waterfront. Food options are limited, but the coffee service is phenomenal. I enjoyed my morning latte with coworkers in comfortable seating. The restrooms were very clean and the staff were all kind and professional. Will definitely add this to my Pike Place recommendations list.

What a fantastic coffee shop! Located upstairs above the crumpet shop. I love coming here and enjoying an amazing house made cinnamon roll and a cortado or latte. This really is one of the better coffee shops in Seattle. The consistency of the coffee is one large part of that reason, but another reason Storyville Coffee is worth stopping at is their remarkable customer service. everyone was helpful kind and courteous. The coffee shop is clean and cozy. There’s even a great fireplace to sit next to or you can look out the window towards Puget Sound.

Outstanding food and service, but this is the most expensive coffee shop I’ve visited. Located right by Pike Market, this store served me one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. They even offer a free gift for your first visit! My oat milk vanilla latte cost me about $10 (including tax). Added in a homemade croissant and homemade jam brought it closer to $20, not including tip. Yes, it’s expensive, but worth every cent! Coffee was so smooth. I’ve never had such great service at a coffee shop. We also happened to be there at the right time because they bro gut out a warm chocolate cake and served everyone a free piece! I can’t wait to return!

Today was my first day coming to Storyville. The coffee was excellent, and the ambiance of the place is awesome. Such a great view of Pike Place and comfy seating. But most impressive to me was how welcoming staff are. Matt, who I believe is a new employee, took such great care of us. He was very intentional interacting with his customers. Asked us about the books we were reading, and another couple about their board game… in a very genuine way that makes people feel welcomed. Even brought us waters unprompted. Will definitely be back!

After my favorite coffee shop in town closed, I wanted to find a new favorite. And this is definitely it. They have best oat milk latte i’ve had in a while and an amazing breakfast sandwich. It’s a bit pricey but worth it to me. The ambiance is great and the music adds to it in a perfect way. Such a great spot!

Great place to kill some time, enjoy great coffee and an Amazing cinnamon roll. One of the best cinnamon rolls in my life! Crispy outside and creamy center. Comfortable environment with nice lounge style seating. If its your first time they where doing a promotion where you would get a free coffee cup. Good place to go check out.

Move over Starbucks - Storyville is the coffee shop you’ll want to visit on your next trip to Seattle. We’re glad we skipped the long line at the Original Starbucks and came here instead. The refined and elegant decor of Storyville, along with the excellent coffee and treats was a perfect pit stop while exploring downtown Seattle and Pike Place market. We received a complimentary coffee mug since it was our first visit which was a nice gesture and makes for a cute souvenir.

Okay I know a lot of people have already talked about how good their latte with homemade coconut cashew milk and cinnamon roll are, but I want to say this again: their latte w/ coconut cashew milk and cinnamon roll are a must try!!! Ambience 10/10. Service 10/10. Also did I mention that they gave me and other customers a slice of chocolate cake for free (one of the frequents told me it’s their tradition)! Overall amazing! Thanks for making my Seattle trip so sweet and happy! And somehow my work efficiency has significantly increased when working at here haha!

Overpriced with great location, cozy atmosphere and delicious options. Each item is expensive - lowest price coffee is French press by the cup @$4.50 (ex: espresso 6.50). Quite a bit of comfy seating and view from window is down in street of public market. Cappuccino good even with alternative milk (cashew). Cinnamon roll on smaller side but great warmed - crispy onions outside & gooey on inside. Recommend the caramel crunch cookie with dash of salt on it.

Friendly staff, delicious coffee , cozy atmosphere. We scanned the QR code and got a free mug that I love and use at home. The sea salt caramel cookie was delicious. I had an espresso and my husband and iced coffee. Both were good and hit the spot.

Delicious but very large and quite expensive cafe lattes here. Gorgeous environment complete with an active fireplace. Also had the granola with vanilla bean yoghurt which was a great way to start the day. Not a lot of food options - mostly small items like pastries, cheese sandwiches, etc.

Authentic, highly rated coffee place in Pike Place. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. They gifted a coffee mug since I was a first time visitor. I tried latte, I think it was delicious - however not sure if worth $8.5, hence the 4 stars.

Wow! What an incredible coffee spot. If you don’t mind a wait it’s well worth it for very rich flavorful coffee. You can even sign up for a free mug for your first visit when you wait in line. They also do a deal where if you buy a bag of roasted beans you get a free drink of choice. I had an iced cold brew and it was delicious. Such a cool seating area as well with a cool view of the market and water. We didn’t try the food but instead brought some crumpets up with us from downstairs which the staff was ok with us having.

An absolute gem! Such cute decor and amazingly happy and polite staff. The free gifts are a great touch too! Delicious chocolate cake, good coffee, and amazing cinnamon rolls. The texture of the cake and cinnamon rolls are on point! The croissant is flaky and crispy. The chocolate cake is so moist and great flavor not being too sweet, but showing off the dark chocolate. I got a free mug as well.

This place is a hidden gem right in the middle of Pike Place Market. It's interior is beautiful with a lovely view. I recommend going to this place during the Sunset. Imagine having a good cup of coffee and looking outside the window a beautiful sunset. This is exactly that place.

One of the best places to enjoy a delicious coffee made entirely by hand and at the moment in addition to having a unique decoration a relaxed and warm atmosphere Storyville is a unique concept of coffee shops in Seattle, with a branch right on the third level of the famous Pike Place Market has all the comforts and services of a high-level cafeteria, I recommend you order some of the special drinks and the new Breakfasts they have, it is an experience that you should not miss if you go to Seattle for several days since you can work in the cafeteria and enjoy a very pleasant moment

Make sure you don’t miss this beautiful hidden coffee place in the top floor of the building opposite to pike place. Cozy and elegant interior designs along with nice view on the market and the waterfront. We waited in line 10-15 minutes before ordering and setting down. We had Cortado, almond croissant and espresso..their coffee is excellent and rich and the croissant is so good (both recommended). They gives free coffee cups/mugs for 1st time visitors. Employees are friendly and professional. I will be studying there every day if i lived in downtown Seattle. Highly Recommended!

One of the best and cozy cafe I’ve been to. The coffee was amazing and so was the hot chocolate. They have a free mug for first time visitor and generous bartender also gave us caramel cookies on the house. The view is beautiful outside the window with warm vintage lighting inside.

This is not a cheap cup of coffee...in fact, this mocha with house made coconut cashew mylk is one of the most expensive drinks on their menu at more than $13. But as of the time of this review, if you bought a bag of one of their beans, then you got the drink for free, and for $18, that was just fine with me. But your mileage will vary. That said, the mocha was lovely. Not sweet. Great flavor. Such a smooth texture with the mylk. Beautiful presentation. I love my quality mochas and am more than willing to pay for it, and this didn't disappoint. I mostly love the atmosphere here. It's lovely to sit at the windows and look out over the market as it wakes up. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got here when it was still early and left right as the morning rush came through, so the atmosphere may depend on how crowded it is, but I loved the decor and the way the seating area is arranged. Also, don't get too confused and pay attention to the fact this is on the upper floor of the building. Thus the lovely view.

This Storyville location is a little hard to find, but it's my favorite. The decor is rich and warm, with a hint of industrial design. It blends well with the old building and its beautiful windows. Storyville's coffee is smooth and strong, not acidic or bitter. Service is always good.

Came here on a Saturday, super busy and with a line. But the rotation was smooth. 8 bux for a latte, spendier than most coffee spots, but worth the hype imo. I enjoyed the cup taking a stroll through pike place and the galleries nearby

  • 5/5 Wilson T. 4 months ago on Google
TLDR: expensive coffee but amazing atmosphere and free cups if you scan the QR code! I noticed that a latte is over $8.00 and I’ve never paid that much for one before… however there are ways around it! I got a bag of beans for a more normal price of $18 and it came with a free coffee drink, even a latte! On top of that, I scanned the QR code that’s everywhere and got a free mug!! On top of that, the atmosphere is amazing! The couches are comfortable, the WiFi is strong and there’s ton of seating. Also the service is so friendly!! Have been here twice and will continue to come

Cute & cozy — top floor Good Coffee with comfortable seating options. Couches. Over sized chairs. Bet height. Desk height. With a view of the ocean or next to a fireplace. Good coffee. Decent prices. Fast wifi.

A hidden gem in Seattle. A quiet place that exudes warmth from the staff and environment. You get a free mug on your first visit too! Amazing location, views, and yes—the coffee is amazing!!

Was told this is a “must-try” and was not disappointed. We had a long day of travel and the baristas were so kind. Made recommendations and ended up with the smoothest cup of coffee. Not to sweet and perfect temp. Also tried the salted caramel cookie. Adding this to a list of must stops if we are ever in the area again.

Absolutely amazing experience!! The staff were so friendly. The cinnamon roll heated up was without a doubt the best pastry I have ever had. The ambience was so lovely, wish I lived here because I would come every day!
