I had the sukiyaki and shared some small plates with a large group. The food was decent, not amazing and not what I expect for the price that I'm paying. Not pictured, but their karaage was just ok, would not order again. I just felt like a lot of the dishes I tried looked appealing but the flavors didn't deliver and were not reminiscent of Japan. Sukiyaki was maybe too sweet, and the meat was cut too thick (granted I got the cheaper option). We were able to seat 10+ people during peak lunch hours on a Sunday without any issues. Main portions are pretty large. Service was fine.

Last Tuesday, the crew stopped by this wonderful restaurant. It came highly recommended to us and didn't disappoint. The decor was simple yet beautiful, instantly evoking a sense of Zen. We savored a bowl of Ramen. The pork was tender, and the broth was robust and flavorful. Next, we tried the famous Shio Saba, a dish that deserves every bit of its praise. It was perfectly grilled! We also indulged in a large plate of sushi. Each piece was meticulously prepared and super fresh. The Sweet Potato Roll was unexpectedly awesome! The service was impeccable and the staff, very friendly. The range of vegan and vegetarian options was impressive. We encountered no problems with parking. The prices were very reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, it was an "Ichigo Ichie" moment. We'll definitely be back!

We came early afternoon and ordered apetizers TOTS and oyster ceviches. Both were really good. i love the Taste of The Sea. Pricey but worth it. Then we had the Angus beef on stone and king crab nabe don. The beef was tasteless imo, the dipping soy sauce was too light. The nabe don was tasty. Overall it's good but for some reason the menu was not very interesting, took us some time to decide what to eat.

The wagyu and the sashimi were fantastic, but they really screwed up with the uni. I really wanted to enjoy it as this place was recommended to me, but the sea urchin not being fresh was quite unfortunate. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and everything else was yummy, so there’s that. I also loved that they do all these special effects to their dishes. Like letting you cook the beef on a stone plate or have the dry ice in the container with the uni dishes. Overall, I wouldn’t mind trying this place again.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant for me and my daughter. Fish is so fresh! Their chirashi ( Dinner) is the best in the area because of the quality of fish. The service is good also. Nice interior and beautiful bathroom! They have very extensive menu. You can find something to eat even though you don’t eat seafood. Everything I had so far was excellent. Weekday lunch is good value. They will validate 2 hour free parking! There are small outdoor seatings available.

Enjoyed dinner with an extra large party on 4 tables. The food was delicious and the drinks were smooth and refreshing. My only concern is the pace of how the dishes and drinks were delivered. Some people received their food orders early while others about 30 minutes later. Drinks were distributed about 5-10 minutes across the tables. Perhaps it was a busy night with staff missing. The presentation was fantastic as well as the taste of everything I had! 😋 The staff was also attentive and welcoming from beginning to end. I recommend Minamoto for a delightful dinner experience if you're in the mood for Japanese cuisine. Thank you for a memorable night and delicious dinner!

AMAZING. A total different experience from other sushi restaurants. This is the REAL sushi restaurant. The service was splendid, and the food was even better. Wow. Quickly has become our favorite place. Their unagi is #1!!! Also, they'll validate your parking if you park in the garage. This is THE PLACE for special occasions, or if you're a true sushi lover.

This is mine and my boyfriends favorite sushi spot, especially for special occasions! The service is fast and the ambiance is very nice. All of the sushi rolls we’ve tried, from the basic to special rolls, taste fresh and are delicious. The miso soup is also delicious as well as the mochi and caffe mocha cakes for dessert.

A few things to say right away is that the price doesn’t merit the flavors and quality. Nothing was of bad quality or tasted bad it just didn’t really pop or stand out. The spring rolls were just regular ole spring rolls that you get from the frozen section at Safeway. The mushroom rice was cute, nothing out of this world though! The sushi rolls were good, I’d say it was the best part. The salmon was good too! But again nothing to rave about. Drinks were good, Negroni and wine.

I'm a very picky eater when it comes to Japanese food. This place has been approved by me. From sushi to sukiyaki, everything was delicious, exceeding expectations. :) Authentic, tasty, and delightful. I'm definitely coming back.

We enjoyed the 18-course menu and it was an amazing experience. Never had such tasty seafood and fish, marinated and combined so delicious. It is also interesting watching the preparation of the food over the bar.

This beautiful place is amazing on both the eyes and stomach. The presentation and taste of all the food is beyond delicious. They truly capture and deliver great Japanese flavors! I recommend this place to all my friends and family. Some notes: They can be pricey, obviously. But I'd say the quality is worth the occasional visit. The staff, while very helpful and pleasant, can be a little slow. They have bathrooms which are super clean and classy. I would recommend for parties of 4 or less, as the space is quite intimate. Overall, I had a great time here. The sushi is mind melting! The tempura is super crispy and light! I highly recommend you try the gindara (black cod), so good!

High end vibe interior design. There is a sushi bar as well if you like to watch sushi preparation closely. The sushi are decent but not impressive considering its price. The grilled mackerel is outstanding, but the Dobin soup was disappointing with almost no stuffing in it. The servers are not well trained as they forgot to provide the drink menu initially, and they constantly missed our orders.

Reservations are suggested although there was an open spot inside, late Saturday night. Service is very friendly and attentive. The food was very fresh and delicious. From grilled items to sushi to special tastings and courses. Even the ginger was amazing. Be ready to splurge a little bit.

The best sushi place I have been to in King county. Very fresh and simple flavors. Nice bite size pieces. The fish was the star of the dishes. No excessive overloading of ingredients or fusion flavors.

Agedashi tofu and oyakodon were yum! Liked the cod with the shishito peppers as well. Will be back soon to try more of their lunch menu :)

We’ve come here for over three years and tell all of our friends and family about it! Seriously cannot recommend it enough. It’s THE BEST Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in the U.S. The service is incredible and their food is even better. Some of favorites are the crunchy ocean roll, black cod, salmon, wagyu hot stone, angus hot stone, lobster roll, chashu udon, gyoza, chicken karaage, unagi…wow just amazing. We even came here regularly through COVID for takeout. Beautifully presented, everything is just perfection.

An incredible evening for me and my boyfriend! Drinks and food were delicious. We ordered an array of sashimi, nigiri, rolls, and appetizers which were all so fresh and tasty! Our favorite was the yellowtail, so buttery as well as the salmon roll. Our servers were great, and Andrew the manager took great care of us. This might be our new favorite sushi spot in Bellevue!

Recently went for their Prix Fixe menu, impressed is an understatement. Amazingly fresh seafood, every course was phenomenally crafted, presentation was almost too beautiful to eat, service was top-knotch, and this restaurant has a great atmosphere. Watching the chefs work behind the counter was pretty incredible in itself, they make it look artful. Expensive night, but worth every penny. I'm looking forward to my next night here.

I was so excited to visit Minamoto. Food looked amazing and I'd heard good things. I was super excited to do their omakase but unfortunately it seemed like too much food for one person for $98. I would have split it with the hubs but he doesn't like sushi. I settled on a rainbow roll and the sashimi appetizer. Both were excellent although there were a few bits of crab shell in the roll. Hubs got the wagu fried rice and said it was very tasty. He wished there was more wagu but for the price, it seemed appropriate.

I came to the restaurant often to get lunch and dinner during my busy working days. By myself or with friends! The restaurant has outstanding interior design, friendly staff and healthy fresh food! I always see fresh flowers on the table, with warm lighting, quiet atmosphere. Most importantly the food is a piece of art. Not only has great visual but also delicious. Drink is one of the best around this area. Many selections from Japanese sake to Cocktails. They hold a high bar on seafood selections and some of them were shipped from Japan directly. And definitely try the Omakase! Andrew, the restaurant manager always greets me with a big smile and makes me feel welcomed and at ease! Especially when I dine alone, he would come to the table and chat with me like a friend. 😃 He gave good suggestions about what to order based on my preference. He made effort to make sure I get my food in a timely manner and check with me in the middle. The interaction I had with him was authentic and felt like family! I will definitely bring more friends to try this restaurant!

The ambience was very nice and gives an upscale vibe. The menu offered a nice mixture of traditional and fusion. Had couple of appetizers which were smaller portions. Also I’m not sure I was a fan of chawanmushi with truffle sauce. It was good but the truffle sauce was a little too strong and overshadowed the other ingredients. The sushi nigiri tasting and the dessert was good. Overall good but i would say on the pricier side. We paid more than $100 plus per person and didn’t have any alcoholic drinks.

Had a really nice meal. Service was great….food was either staged and timed by server or it was a little slow to come out. Regardless, all the flavors were great. The dancing spicy shrimp were extremely tasty. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, and is slightly more authentic than Japonessa, but doesn’t have as much selection of what I consider “fancy rolls.” That is not a deterrent only a comparison, but the quality of the food is quite good and better than most of the sushi in Bellevue.

Incredible Japanese restaurant. The sushi was the best I'd ever had, the fried rice, miso, and wagu were all also phenomenal. Very pleasant and helpful staff, service was lightning fast. Food was out within 4 or 5 minutes. Decor was a super well done mix of modern and traditional Japanese. Japanese whiskey selection was wonderful. Definitely higher end and a little more expensive but that comes with the territory. Highly recommend.

Nice food and service, the price was ok. The oyster with uni and special sauce was amazing!!!!!

Love the ambiance. Music was good except it was way too loud. We could barely hear each other. The food was delicious. The mackerel was a little salty though. Miso soup and agedashi tofu didn't beat Japonessa's in Bellevue. The hamachi collars were delicious. Service was good.

Ok sushi, rice was stale. good chicken karaage, but the sauce tastes like glorified ranch, I guess it's just not my thing. The agedashi tofu wasn't crunchy at all, maybe that just means it's better.

I cannot recommend this place enough - absolutely phenomenal. We had a reservation of 4 for the omakase. I had just found out I was pregnant and was worried that we could not alter the meal, but when speaking with the general manager Isaac all worries disappeared. We arrived at dinner and Isaac and the staff made a menu to fit my new dietary restrictions and also flowed with the rest of the party's dishes. Each dish was delicious and beautifully prepared, with perfect timing between meals. My brother, who enjoys trying whiskeys, received stellar recommendations to accompany the dishes and his taste. I highly recommend the omakase here for a date night or celebration. Food was delicious, presentation was gorgeous, and the staff was incredibly warm, accommodating, and attentive (which really makes this dinner such a wonderful, memorable experience). Cannot wait to come back and truly experience it post-pregnancy!
