This is a true gem of a place. Located in a gorgeous street with the Lonja de la Seda ( A UNESCO designated site) as a side benefit. Dining there was a great experience. The food was delicious. The grilled prawns were the best in the menu. The meat dish called carrillera was delicious. Don’t remember the name of the roasted small peppers that came with one of the meat dishes we ordered but they were new to our palate but definitely a welcome addition to our experience. We could not taste their Paella as they had ran out of it as we came to dinner late in the evening. But extra servings of papa bravas were just what the doctor ordered. We will gladly go back and try their Paella. By the way our waiters were genuinely interested in interacting with us. We felt at home and they made a great meal and time there become a delightful evening. In the photo my sister and our new lovely friends in Valencia.

We went to this place to try Agua de Valencia as a friend recommended this for the nice location, but as the drink tasted just like a juice I doubt there was any alcohol in it. Also, always check the bill and what they charge you. We ordered bread which they forgot to bring but it was on the bill... Reading the previous comments here we are not the first ones this happened to. In my opinion it's a tourist trap to be avoided

I would say it’s the best restaurant in Valencia. The razors clams (navajas in Spanish) are soooooo fresh. All plates are well cooked and delicious. The restaurant is located in the city center but in a calm street. You can enjoy your night here. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this restaurant, reason I decided to try it out was the inviting vibe the staff gave off and my instinct was correct. Even it was close to their afternoon break at 4pm, I was seated without rush to put in my order. Big shout out to Rawel who gave me great advice to pick what I'd like and she was spot on. The recommended Squid Ink Rice was so flavorful and delicious. Best I had during Barcelona trip. Exceptional food, drink and service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience! we’ve come to expect great food in Valencia, and Taberna Sants Joan’s exceeded our positive expectations! However what made the experience stand out high above others was the service, which was extremely friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.

The grilled squid is the "recommended " dish, but it's average at best. They didn't have three of their seasonal recommendations, with it being the start of their high season, they have to do better. The espresso machine was broken, and there were only two options for desert. The best thing about this place is the location.

Had a good meal here. The squid was little bit chewy but it tasted great otherwise. Artichoke was good as well. The server was really lovely — she could tell I had no idea what to order and offered some recommendations. Overall, great place for a bite.

Lovely little restaurant serving traditional Spanish food. We came at lunchtime and food was good, I can imagine this would be nice for dinner. Right near the central market down a cute street. Service was great would recommend

My group had lunch today in restaurant. The prices are expensive in comparison with the quality of the food. The sangria was almost only fruit juice ( 18€/LT). We ordered some patatas bravo and it tastes like it was prepared 2/3 days before. The sea Paella was a rip-off, it was burnt and with insufficient fish ( 6/8 of the paella was rice). The waiter also told us that a good paella should be burnt and some of us tried it and ended up being sick.

We roamed around where we're staying in Valencia and passed by Sants Joan's Taberna to have a look at the menu. There were many items that interested us, so we went in. We were greeted very warmly and friendly, asking us if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We were brought menus and our drink orders were taken (two aguas valencianas, one half-bottle of a Galician white wine). Two of us ordered the sea bass with veggies, and the other ordered mahi-mahi with potatoes and little green peppers. The food was delicious, and we complimented them. We then asked about desserts and chose the chocolate & Baileys cake. We were brought 3 spoons - very intuitive that we would be sharing it! It was delightful. When we asked for the bill, we were brought a nice surprise!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The food was incredibly expensive but very bad quality. We had octopus and shrimp - both were NOT fresh and super hard to chew. When we spoke to the staff about it, they started arguing with us. The wine tasted cheap as well. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! TOURIST TRAP!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch at this location! It is in a great part of town, we loved sitting outside. We enjoyed fresh seafood, tasty drinks, and fun, friendly service from Nawel. When we come back to Valencia we will return here !

Great atmosphere, nice staff and flavors that will not leave your mind. Try the croquetas, they're a must!

We just ate here for lunch and the food was amazing! The food is fresh from the market and they serve authentic Spanish dishes. The service was very good as well, the staff are very friendly. We will definitely be coming back here again .

Avoid this place. I waited an hour to order while the server took other people's orders who were sat later than me. The good thing is the guy who took our drink order was very attentive and we were able to drink the hour that we waited. He also brought out our check and was quick to run my card. I think the server would have had me wait another hour to run my card. I wouldn't return to this place.

We came here twice over a weekend and were so welcomed by the people there, they were the best! The food is muy delicioso, so fresh and well prepared! Plus, the location is great for a visit to the Central Market, and for “el paseo” at night. Must stop there !!!!!

Great food and great service! Best pallea, tapas and sangria that we've tried in Valencia.

As a local I feel ashamed of this place. 18 eur for very few pieces of calamari, 12 eur for very few mushrooms. Bravas not well cooked. Waiter was giving good service.

Our group came here for tapas and drinks and everything was delightful! The service was fast and welcoming. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious.

The food and drinks were fine but this was overshadowed by the experience of the service being rude, you need to use a QR code to see the menu but they had no wi-fi (a challenge for us tourists) and then a few items that we tried to order we were told they didn’t have anymore. In the end we had 2 tapas and a drink and left

very nice personal, good food! we've been there roughly an hour and ate 7 very good tapas they speak decent english, so no problems if you don't speak spanish. big recommend!

A great place for food and drinks! We came here tonight with a large group and were delighted. Our waitress was a real sweetheart who offered great service; she was laughing, joking, and always on top of things. We enjoyed a variety of tapas, all of which were delicious. We hope to be back soon.

Nice place, nice people and really good food. I was there for dinner and try some tapas, High quality, good taste and served with kindness and happiness. Next time i Will come back for sure.

Unbelievable food and outstanding service. What a lovely place right near to the main market. Highly recommend. Plus they do a white sangria which is hard to find in Valencia!
