Both of My lovely Angels love it. They fully enjoy there. Nice temperatures. Fish in tank is good but the best part is in upstairs. You can see small cute monkey and many birds like you can feel you are in the jungle.

It was good I'd say I've been to better zoos but seeing the pandas was really neat. The zoo was just really small and in the middle of town

I loved that some of the animals in here could walk/hop/fly “free” within the building. The fish were huge.

One of my favorite exhibits at the zoo! The amazon river fish in the displays when you come in look ancient and alien. The non-aquatic animals aren't behind glass, so you can get up close with the spoonbills and have fun searching the trees over head for where that sound you just heard is coming from.

Make sure you go to the bottom of the hill and see the Amazonia. It's one of the best exhibits on the zoo!

I thought the snake and electric Eel,and guinea pig enclosures were too small. Otherwise, it was enjoyable.

Great area to visit. The animals are free to fly around. It feels like you are in the Amazon. The plants all look healthy and thriving.

Beautiful, clean setting for a zoo. Love the hilly terrain and the mature, lush canopy! Plenty of viewing spots and well kept enclosures. Dip in and out of the air conditioned exhibits to keep things cool. Slip into one of the mist sprayers and grab a cold beverage. There's a LOT to see, and they start closing 30 minutes earlier than the actual close time, so give yourself plenty of time to look. I'd say no less than 4-5 hours, and that's really moving. Truly, a multiple trip experience.

This is my favorite area of the zoo. The "walk" through the Amazon forest is a nice escape from the city. The fauna and flora of the Amazon is amazing.

It's the where's Waldo of the rainforest! I love going upstairs and slowly walking around. The giant fish downstairs are mesmerizing but I love seeing all the birds, monkeys, and the SLOTH upstairs. An overly friendly monkey spooked me. I call it a win because I looked up & finally found the sloth! 🙌

At the zoo, there's a must-see sight, an Amazon rainforest, brought to light. Immersive and real, you're in with the beasts, from the tiniest insects to the festive feasts. With fun at every turn, for young and the old, interactive adventures, bold and untold. The highlight, though, is clear as day, amidst the animals, where you'll stay and play. A journey so close, you'll feel part of the band, in this rainforest experience, wonderfully grand.

Great experience! Really enjoyed the electric eel exhibit. Really informative exhibit about the frogs of Panama and the Chytrid fungus. The largest spider in the world resides in the Amazon.....why no exhibit about the Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula? 🤷🏾‍♂️

This place is AWESOME!! It wasn't very crowded on a weekday, but it was also Friday so it was a weekend/weekday mix. It is located inside the zoo! Very calm animals, photos are allowed, this place had a VARIETY of animals, including poison dart frogs! You should DEFINITELY visit. It's worth the money! I mean, there's lions, tigers, porcupines, snakes, fish, turtles, OH MY!

This is a true hidden gem at the National Zoo! Visiting the Amazon is great in the summer heat or winter cold. Great tanks with huge and tiny fish below an open aviary. There is also a room dedicated to the amphibian and strange creatures of the Amazon.

The Smithsonian Zoo is very nice. It's free for entry but they charged me $30 for parking. So, it's not really free. The food is pretty good. It's on the smaller side, compared to zoos like the San Diego zoo, but the trees and landscape make it nice.

Nice little zoo. The only place to see panda bears in the US. Get your tickets in advance on your phone email qr code. It is free, but they still have timed entry like covid protocol. Wear good walking shoes, and be prepared to walk on inclines. The zoo is on a hill. When we entered from Connecticut Ave, we were at the top of the hill. We walked the entire zoo, going downhill. To get back out, you gotta walk up. If you have diabetes, there are no sugar free food options like ice cream.

The Amazonia was pretty good and not too bad. Really hate driving up to DC from where we're at Where's the chixka

Amazonia provides an interactive learning experience. The atmosphere is that of the Amazon complete with live animals up close and personal. The temperature adds to the ambiance with a perfect balance of humidity.

Experience the Amazon - starting underwater with a view into aquariums holding a variety of fishes from tiny tetras to 8-foot monsters, then head upstairs to walk through a forest filled with birds and monkeys. You can’t miss this if you’re visiting DC. It’s a truly wonderful place.
