I'm sorry I didn't really take pics of the food & drinks, but I really enjoyed my anniversary dinner here. Teresa was an excellent, attentive server without being overbearing. We had yummy cocktails with dry ice, and a bottle of champagne. For our appetizers, we had the crab cake and deviled eggs. The caviar deviled eggs were amazing! We ordered the lamb & branzino for our entrees, with lobster tails, truffle mac, and mushrooms. Everything was seasoned properly and cooked well. Teresa was kind enough to present us with the most delicious carrot cake I've ever had! I didn't realize it had a special message, we just dug in! Overall, I understand the reason people love Ocean Prime. It has a gorgeous atmosphere, equally delicious food, and excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate to spend my next special occasion here.

Steak is top tier, dare to say quite possibly the best steak in the city. The sides, service and calamari appetizer left MUCH to be desired. It's a shame you have to make this trade off to enjoy such a good steak. Didn't try the seafood. Value? $250 for two with no alcohol seemed slightly overpriced, especially with a comped dessert.

I made reservations for a birthday dinner at Ocean Prime which is a beautiful restaurant located in downtown DC. The ambiance and the decor is really nice and the customer service (specifically from the bar tender-can't remember her name) was excellent! However, the food didn't "WOW" me. I had two lobster tails stuffed with shrimp for approximately $85 which in my opinion is overpriced especially for the size of the lobsters. I believe they were between 6-7 oz. each (not my first rodeo eating lobster). I also had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and asparagus as a side. Again, there was nothing special about the meal. If the lobsters were a bit bigger, I could see paying $85 for two. Anyhoo, I had a "mocktail" (don't drink alcohol) which I liked. Would I eat here again? I probably would but I would definitely try something else on the menu. In closing, I asked a gentleman that worked there (can't remember his name; brown-skinned guy with dreadlocks) to take my picture since I was looking rather cute and he did a great job! Again, customer service was great!

We visited for happy hour on Wednesday and it wasn’t too crowded. I tried their delicious steak tartare and my husband had their oysters. I also tried their “berries and bubbles” cocktail which comes with dry ice, Belvedere citrus vodka, marinated berries, house made sour, and Chandon Brut. This drink was so sweet and very cute! The staff were all friendly, and all the bartenders attended to you whether they were serving you or not. We had a very nice time. I’m looking forward to returning for dinner.

I’ve been wanting to eat here since forever! Believe me, Ocean Prime did not disappoint! This was my first stop when I arrived in the D.C. area (around 3pm). I was nervous because I was dressed casually, but they welcomed me with open arms! I had no plans to have a cocktail (let alone 2) so early in the day, but the Berries and Bubbles was calling my name! Best drink ever!!! They put it together at your table and pour it over dry ice. It was amazing and definitely worth the $19 per drink. The server was awesome and I’m thankful he explained that I could order a half serving of the Brussel sprouts side. Most places have really small “family” style sides, but Ocean Prime!! The half serving was larger than a whole serving I’d get at other places. I also appreciate that they modified the dish to accommodate my dietary concerns. I also had the Appetizer Crab Cake (so yummy) and Surf N Turf (yummy as well). This was the best meal I’ve had in a while. The complimentary bread was also very good, I liked the pretzel bread the best! Ocean Prime, you’re my new favorite place!

Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary there. The restaurant was very accommodating in getting us a private, quiet table as requested…..actually it was a little alcove with a beautiful chandelier hanging above which was the perfect spot for the evening. The service was great. Our server Keith, and another lady, whose name I forgot, were very attentive to us throughout the entire evening. The food was fantastic. I would definitely highly, highly recommend……especially for a special occasion event.

This restaurant was perfect for a night of fine dining and a show! The atmosphere was perfect for my group. My group had sushi, lobster bisque, beet salad to start. We also had the crab cakes, filet mignon, Oscar style, and Chilean sea bass. Sushi was fresh and delicious. The food was exceptional. Even at these prices $$$$ and the fantastic service (Thank you Steven), We will be back.

Absolutely 💯. I worked in this area and never took the time to visit Ocean Prime which was in a 5 min walking distance. The hubby and I decided to swing by on a Date Night <my choice> Everything was Perfect! The reservations, the hostess that greeted us, the nice gentleman that seated us, the Assistant to our server Arrianna. Absolutely 💯 1. Valet Parking - best choice 2. Choice of water - tap, sparkling or bottle...get the bottle <its the best water we tasted in a very long time> 3. See pictures of food/drinks We'll be back!

Still one of the last truly elegant restaurants downtown. Ocean Prime will continue to be a classic staple for those looking for an elevated dining experience. Unlike some of the other Seafood staples downtown, this restaurant has maintained it’s beauty in delivering exceptional experiences for the Luxury diner. Everything is whimsical and continues to be amazing. From the host team to the wait team all the way to the chef and bartenders -kudos. I wish Google would allow video because I would share this amazing bubbly, champagne drink that I just could not get enough of! (Pictured is the calamari and the shrimp appetizers)

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here for his birthday on 8/20. Reservations were at 7:30. We were seated by 7:40. Restaurant was busy, but lighting is beautiful. Table settings look good. Servers were Aaron & Alexis. Both greeted us and took drink orders. Appetizers: Goat Cheese Ravioli & Caesar salad. I am not a big fan of goat cheese, but it was delicious. Salad had the right amount of dressing and lettuce was crunchy. Main: Crab Cakes & Chilean sea bass. Sides Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. My husband said his crab cakes were perfect. Chilean sea bass was so pretty, I didn’t want to eat it. Sides come family style. Mac and cheese was creamy. We had a slice of carrot cake-it was just okay. We were too stuffed to finish it. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will come here again!

This is the second time I've dined at this establishment and my first experience within their private room. The room was large enough for our party of 10 with enough room to snuggly double the number of guests. The ambiance was warm with well diffused artistic lighting with a modern and contemporary decor. The staff service was good, the table clearing and reset was exceptional. The dish plating was good. The food quality was great, my sea bass special was packed with flavor and well plated, the lamb and steaks at the table were cooked to perfection. The sides were also good but the cream style fresh corn was the star of my night. I would highly recommend dining at Ocean Prime.

The restaurants decor and ambience was superb; however, the dish I got was a special (the seafood paella) lacked some flavor. It was okay I wouldn’t get it again if I went back. The drinks and desserts (butter cake and berries/bubbles) was the highlight for me along with enjoying my friends. The waitress did an excellent job explaining the dishes and cocktails, she was on time very personable and friendly. Had my food tasted a little bit better I would’ve rated this place a 5…

Food was alright for the offered price and experience. Service is a hit or miss depending on what kind of server you get, and the host did not seem to be in a good mood either when we walked in last Friday afternoon, between lunch and dinner hours. It wasn’t too busy at all so food came out quickly. Keep in mind that although food and portions are the same for both lunch & dinner menus, price differs for some dishes (is that even common nowadays in high-end restaurants?). In terms of food itself, we really liked the Tuna Tartar and Poke Bowl, yet the risotto was average in comparison to what we tried in other places.

Absolutely 💯 loved this resteraunt, and our waitress was so awesome too. The food was very good and seasoned well 😀. I felt the bill was average for the level of quality for the food and atmosphere. I will definitely come again. I enjoyed the experience. The prime rib was great, too. Valet was $26.00, which is unusual to me 🙃 that was the only negative. We paid it and all went well. I would have given the resteraunt 5 stars if valet parking was more average priced. 🤔

Happy Place! As usual, OP comes through! I had the calamari, Chilean sea bass, and the butter cake. The food was great, and the service was impeccable 👌🏽 I swapped out the vanilla ice cream for lemon sorbet on the butter cake, so I had a whole raspberry lemonade vibe going. It was sooooo good.

This was my first time Dining at Ocean Prime. Taking my lady out for her birthday. It was nothing more than a top tier experience. The waiter Briyan was awesome..extremely friendly, warm, and you just knew he enjoyed serving us and you felt it everytime he visited the table. The first thing I tasted was the Surf and Turf Scallop, and prime rib..Amazingly tender and full of flavor. Nothing more than immaculate. The Lamb Chops were the best I have ever tasted from anywhere. Prepare to be here for a while as they do take their time to give you an experience. I will be going back for the Private dining experience for sure.

This place was absolutely amazing! My wife and I went here for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint. Literally, everything that we ordered was excellent! The valet was quick and easy; the food, service, and atmosphere were great; and the restaurant, though full, wasn't too loud. We'll definitely be going back

It wasn't the best experience because of two issues, but I think it could be easily above four stars if they take care of the two correctable issues. First, we were there to celebrate a birthday. All the food that came out was great except one 10oz filet. It came out rare instead of medium rare, and when I say rare I mean, looking like tuna. They tried to re-fire it, but they couldn't get it right the second time. However, the ribeye, the special halibut, the truffle devil eggs, the shrimp cocktail, and even the mocktails and old fashioned were all what you expected when eating at a place like Ocean Prime. Pretty Damn Good. #meatthermometer The second issue was the passive aggressive server. Very attentive, very nice, but far too concerned about his tip and let you know it. Ordering our food, everything he was trying to upsale to what we would order. At the point I cancelled the steak because it wasn't going to come out in time, I called 86. At least three times the server kept telling me how the management had deducted things off the final check and to help out him and his co-workers. It just got to the point where I thought about asking him how much money you want me to leave? I will say this, the management was very apologetic. They comped the drinks, gave $100 gift card, and served a desert on a personalized platter. At the end of the day, I would go back to give them a second try. The food overall was great, the atmosphere was great, and there is always another server. I appreciate the way management handled everything.

Stumbled across this place while looking for dinner spots before the Caps game on a Saturday night. Just by looking at it from the outside we thought it was going to be super pricey but overall it was very fair priced and an amazing meal. Since they had no dining room seating, we grabbed two seats at the bar and we were happy we did because we could also order from the lounge menu. We got two appetizers from the main menu and two from the lounge menu. In total we had the steak tartare, the fish tacos, the house salad and the prime rib sliders. All four dishes were amazing but the sliders were probably our favourite. We also had two drinks, can’t remember the names but you can see the pictures. Presentation of everything was amazing too! Overall our dinner was $115 (before tip) for the four apps and two drinks which seemed reasonable considering it’s a high end steak house. Overall 10/10 ans would definitely come back! Ocean Prime was the BEST meal we had during our visit to DC. Hands DOWN the BEST!!! We were exhausted after another day of walking around the Mall and the museums and needed an oasis to sit down, relax and hydrate. We stumbled into Ocean Prime without knowing what to expect. We were seated immediately to a beautiful quiet booth. The booths on the perimeter face the street and those booths are beautiful deep blue velvet ones! ( next time I might request those! ) Our server ( tall Chinese woman) was spot on perfect! She asked if we wanted water: still, bubbly or tap. We chose bubbly and there were free refills! We drank a lot of water! She was helpful and polite in her suggestions. We started our meal with steak tartare and it was spiced and flavored beautifully! It was the best steak tartare we have had in a long time. I ordered the scallops over risotto and my husband ordered the chilean sea bass. Both dishes melted in our mouths and we were relishing each bite. The food was beautifully presented. The staff all seemed to work extremely well! That takes a lot of training and good leadership. Bravo! I saw a few business men having their lunches as well as older couples. We were not dressed in business attire, but it didn't seem to matter. Service, food and presentation were SPOT ON Amazing! Thank you Ocean Prime for making our DC lunch a wonderful relaxing delicious experience.

I came to the DC location for my birthday celebration wirh some friends and family. Food was delicious. I had the lobster lingerie with extra sauce. We had the scallops for appetizers. The pork chip was also delicious. The drinks and her waitress was very observant and made good suggestions. She also had supersonic hearing and could hear us if we needed anything She also knew the menu very well. I would definitely recommend.

Great presentation and atmosphere. I recommend the Twin Lobster Tails (pictured) … paired with butter over a flame and asparagus, they tasted delightful. Sushi was also great! I got the Ocean Roll (pictured). Minus a star because of the deviled eggs. One bite and we both cringed, they really taste awful and need to be removed from the menu until the recipe is edible. We felt like deviled eggs should be easy, and we’ve never tasted deviled eggs this bad until tonight. Recipe is severely lacking paprika, relish, sugar.. important ingredients that really make the dish. Tip: there is a coat check in the back of the restaurant near the restroom. Also, the restroom lighting and decor is great for pics!

The food, staff, and service were amazing. I had an amazing dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy. The shrimp cocktail was good, but nothing I would order again. Some of the shrimp were not cleaned properly. The scallops were certainly the star of the show. They were cooked perfectly and the flavors/freshness were perfect. The chocolate cake was VERY rich and a little too dense. We shared one and only finished half. If you order it, make sure you also get a scoop of vanilla gelato to cut the richness. It’s literally just a pure block of chocolate with a fudge texture. Lastly, the atmosphere was a little disappointing. We went for dinner and there were kids everywhere. It was very loud and at times it was hard to hear each other talking right across from one another.

I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for some time because of their carrot cake but I was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed my food experience. First, staff were awesome and attentive. It’s great for date night, birthdays, solo date, family dinner, etc. They have valet parking and street parking. You’re seated a little to close to other tables depending on where you are in the restaurant but that’s my opinion. It’s an intimate dining experience. We started with Deviled Eggs that were topped with caviar and truffles. They were underwhelming. It’s heavy on the truffle flavor but lacks any additional seasoning. And if caviar scares you, I couldn’t taste it. They put an extra small amount on each deviled egg. I tried the South African lobster tail stuffed with crab meat. The lobster was cooked well. Great texture. The crab meat didn’t add anything to the experience. The Chilean Sea Bass was yummy as well. Cooked well and flavorful. Their Roasted Brussel Sprouts were some of the best I’ve had. It had a lemon flavor and well seasoned. They were tender but a slight crunch. Their Ten Layer Carrot Cake was delicious as well! It was a perfect balance of cake and icing. Not to sweet for me. It tasted like gingerbread and carrot cake mixed in one. My cocktail was the BERRIES & BUBBLES. Heavy on the bubbles. It was a light and sweet drink and not an overwhelming taste of alcohol.

Ocean Prime is such a wonderful experience in fine dining. Trust me! I managed one for years. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was great, and the food was the best! It was hard to choose from the menu. I went with the Chilean Sea Bass. It was "melt in your mouth". Other dishes served were Lobster and Cheese (excellent per my son), other seafood. I highly recommend this place!

It was very nice chill dinner on Monday. Service was excellent event we were almost last people to serve. Food was good. Lobster bisque soup 10/10. Shrimp cocktail and lobster tails super fresh. Mash potatoes were a little disappointing. Thats why 4/5 starts

Great food. Pricey but probably worth it. However, service was not impressive. Server was rude and argumentative. Went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary after reading some reviews that they treat you well but the server (Christopher) didn’t even wish us. Infact was arguing about how he left dessert menu on the table without even telling us and we kept waiting for our desserts forever. I would give it a 2nd try though. Great food and I am sure this server was just not trained properly. Hope they will address this gap for future guests.

I’m visiting DC from Texas. I didn’t know what to expect when we chose this restaurant. The Uber driver told us it was the best seafood place in town. Walked in and the place was spectacular, I was impressed which I’m not impressed easily. The ambiance was superb. The waiter was knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We had to split the 10 layer carrot cake which is to die for. The drinks were also a nice treat. Highly recommend
