I rarely if ever write a bad review. Just be aware they're only quick and responsive when signing you up to take your money, but ignore you and drag their feet once you're injured and need to negotiate your membership. Despite showing a medical note for my shoulder injury, they refused to provide a refund, refused to pause my membership for a sufficiently long enough period of time to recover, and I even offered to transfer my membership to a family member to use - which they also refused - and this family member was genuinely interested in F45 so to be honest this was so short sighted on their part as they could have utilized this chance to gain a more permanent longstanding member, but nope. I wanted to love F45, but it ended up giving me a feeling of money grubbing slimyness. I've made peace with my $500 down the drain and don't recommend this gym. There are better fitness programs in the area.

I previously loved going to F45. It was a weekly ritual 2-3 times a week for my partner and myself that left us feeling amazing. We felt a sense of community and belonging in our 5:35pm classes, sweating along with others, and taking in the encouragement and support that filled the room. The coaches are also great, especially Danny, in offering helpful pointers and suggestions to improve your form or accommodate your individual needs for a specific exercise. However, in early July 2023, I started experiencing acute symptoms that left me with a terrible cough, difficulty breathing, nausea, chest pain and lightheadedness with no clear diagnosis from my doctor. Any significant increases in my heart rate would lead to coughing spells that would leave me lightheaded and in pain. Days before the onset of symptoms, I had purchased a 10 class pack valid for 3 months (~$300). I reached out to F45 early to notify them of my condition, and that there was no prognosis or diagnosis but I was working closely with my doctor to address my issues. It should also be mentioned that they don't allow you to take classes when you're sick or have any COVID-like symptoms, which I did. They responded with "In order to process the extension request, we kindly ask you to provide us with a medical note from your doctor or healthcare provider. The medical note should clearly state your health issue and provide an estimated timeline for your recovery. This information will help us better understand your situation and ensure that we can provide the appropriate extension for your class pack." My doctor charges $173 for a doctor's note that includes a diagnosis/prognosis and recovery time. I notified them I did not have a diagnosis or prognosis, and there is no estimated time for recovery, so paying for a note wouldn't achieve what they were looking for. I also mentioned I didn't think it was reasonable to pay 50% of the cost of my class pack to 'prove' I couldn't exercise. Against my better judgement, I sent them photos of all the medical requisitions, medications and notes from my doctor with dates to demonstrate I was legitimately sick. Instead, they decided to fall back on their laurels that a medical note with a timeline for recovery was a standard requirement. I was referred to two different specialists since preliminary testing made it unclear what was causing my symptoms and medication hadn't been effective. The rationale of F45 was: "By providing a medical note, we can better understand the nature of your condition and the recommended duration by your doctor or medical practitioner for extending your class pack. This allows us to tailor the extension to your specific circumstances and ensure that you have ample time to utilize your remaining classes. Our primary goal is to support you in your fitness journey while also respecting your privacy and individual needs." If the ultimate goal was to accommodate my needs, their current policy doesn't do that—it's rigid and requires clients to “prove” how unwell they are and have a definitive date of recovery, such that your pass can only be extended until that point versus wanting clients to genuinely recover and return to classes when they are able. At no point did I ask for a refund, as I truly wanted to be healthy enough to return to F45 and use the classes I had purchased. They were only willing to offer a 1 month extension after all the evidence I had provided to them. In the end, after 12 weeks, 2 specialists, 4 different medications and 6 different medical tests, I still don’t have a diagnosis but my symptoms have subsided. My class pack at F45 has expired and I'm out of pocket ~$300 for the cost of a class pack I couldn't use. Knowing that I attend 2 other studios in the area who were extremely accommodating and flexible when given the same information, not even asking for a doctor's note, I know where I will place my loyalty, build community and continue to attend classes.

UPDATE: F45 has definitely changed my life and it has kicked my fitness into high gear. I still love the F45 programming, but can no longer support this studio. After being a member for over 3 years at Burnaby West, I realized this studio and its members deserve better and more. For example, greater class times (More weekend/holiday sessions), additional coaches (Not just 1), specialty classes (More stretching, boxing), better communications etc... The list goes on. I feel my membership dues were not in line with the value that other studios in Metro Vancouver provided. For a premium membership fee of $200+, one would think I would have received incredible service and training. Early on it was the case, but over the last couple of years the level of service has declined. I raised my concerns to management, but nothing really came about. It seems like it was just one excuse after the other. The studio did bring in heavier kettle bells and implemented two separate 15 min stretching sessions on Sundays. Throughout my time at Burnaby West, I felt as though management was doing the bare minimum for its members compared to other F45 studios. With new members coming in and not knowing better it was business as usual. Rather, many long time members have mentioned the same thing to me privately and others like myself have now cancelled our memberships. For the most part, the coaches were knowledgeable and helpful. Burnaby West has lost a few good ones and retaining talent seems to be an issue for them. Great coaches makes all the difference. For anyone thinking about a membership at this studio, my advice would be to do your research, compare other studios (Try Burnaby Highgate), READ/ASK to see the CONTRACT TERMS and talk to members if possible. Lastly, if you raise concerns and decide to leave Burnaby West, they may just block you on Instagram as they did to me. Haha No joke. It speaks volumes on how they conduct themselves as a business. Good Luck Burnaby West. ___________________________________________________ F45 Training Burnaby West is the best place to start your fitness and health journey! All it take is just 45 mins to change your life. Sessions are a great mix of cardio, resistance and functional movements that will get your heart pumping and have you coming back for more and more. This is not your typical gym, but more of a community; the Burnaby West Family to be exact. From the dedicated owners to the friendly and knowledgeable coaches this team is the real deal. I am lucky to train with an amazing team for over 2 years and have never looked back! The workouts are different each day, challenging, sweaty and yes even fun! It definitely is "team training - life changing" as the tagline says. What are you waiting? Go start the trial and experience that F45 feeling!

As someone who is not fit at all and a total beginner, I felt really welcomed by F45 Burnaby West! I was nervous at first but did not feel uncomfortable at all nor out of place. Each session flies by quickly and I would be dripping with sweat after the first few sets of exercises! After attending classes for a month, I feel a little stronger and more confident with using weights. The coaches are are really friendly, equipment is clean and still very new, atmosphere is very positive!

I was hesitant to join a group training gym. I have over 18 years of experience weightlifting. I've competed for many years and was traditionally bodybuilding for my entire fitness career. Covid put a halt on my training and it was very difficult for me to get back to my normal routine. This is why I decided to give F45 a try. I'm so glad I did! Walt and Cheryl (owners) are positive, knowledgeable, and bring a sense on community to the space. The training is always new and different, while always challenging you. I would have to say it's geared for people who have a fitness background or athletics. Some of the movements and workouts are slightly more advanced. So keep that in mind. If you're looking to meet good people, get back into a routine, and push yourself, this is the place. Having the trainers there to adjust your form and push you is very helpful. I am someone who is self motivated but even the slightest push has helped me increase my results.

I joined the trial wanting to try something different and this was definitely out of my comfort zone. The instructors and participants were all friendly and encouraging. It's a great workout. The pace is daunting, but the drive of those around me is infectious. Yes, I ended up joining the gym after my trial.

At first I was skeptical trying out a group fitness class because I’ve always been used to a regular gym environment. 3 years later, and I’ve gotten rid of my other gym membership because not only do I get to do HIIT style workouts, the other members and coaches make working out fun. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the coaches are there to guide and push you. I def recommend anyone to try out F45 it’s for all levels of fitness!

I’ve been going to this F45 location for a year now and LOVE it so much. I have two kids and struggled with backpain for years. I tried MANY activities including various treatments. I started wanting to strengthen my core with hope to rid my back pain. After 4-5 months of continuous workout, bye bye back pain! In addition, I became much stronger and actually love working out. F45 is very organized, structured yet flexible as needed. I enjoy how you can focus on your workouts within your space, get guidance/form adjustments from coaches as needed, little push when you can use a challenge, plus the sense of community you gain with great people is so nice. Every set has modifications to lessen and increase the level of challenge. Lastly but not least, every workout is different so for those who get bored easily, like me, I highly recommend it!

I signed up for a year after trying the one-week trial. Mac has amazing energy, and the classes are small enough to feel personal and connected. I enjoy my 6 am workouts - who knew I'd roll out of bed at 5:30 am for workouts! Highly recommend giving it a go.

Was originally hesitant to go as I've never spent so much money on a gym/fitness program but it's been worth every penny. The trainers are invested in your progress and they have programs to challenge your fitness journey through weekly challenges and meal programs through the app. Quality of equipment is good, people are friendly and polite, and workouts have a good balance of HIIT cardio and resistance. Something that competitors like Orange Theory and CrossFit misses out on.

Love the programming, staff, community and the environment! It is the best 45 minute of your day! I have tried similar group Fitness trainings , like Orangetheory, but F45 is completely different. You will never do the same workout, means it is not boring and the workouts are always creative and fun! Trainers have always helped me to modify the movements based on my limitations and injuries, fixed my form and answered my questions. Also, it is affordable compared to hiring a Personal Trainer at any other gyms. One thing I found the most exciting is that there is a 45-day challenge which you have a full access to a comprehensive app, providing you some useful information regarding what to eat based on your fitness goal. Plus, you will be scanned in the beginning and at the end, to see what you have done during the challenge. I recommend F45 Burnaby West to everyone, especially those who struggle to start working out!

I started off with the 7 day trial and I loved it! It’s fun and it’s only 45 minutes. It goes by so fast. I always look forward to working out 5 times a week. There’s always something different and everything can be modified for different fitness levels. I love the vibe in every class. Everyone is friendly and motivating. The trainers are amazing and helpful. Since I started F45 4 months ago I have lost 23 lbs but overall I just feel so much better. Even better than before I had my baby. I participated in a 6 week challenge and having the meal plans also really helped me with my goals to lose weight. That is something I have continued to do. F45 has definitely changed my life. I have recommended F45 to all my friends and family.

I started off with the 7 day trial and loved it immediately. Took no convincing to purchase a membership pass. The trainers are amazing and helpful. They always push you to work harder. Every class is different and not boring. Time goes by so fast. I highly recommend F45.

F45 Burnaby west is the only gym I go to. I moved to Vancouver 3 years ago and this place is my second home because of the people and good vibes. The gym owners, trainers and F45ers are some of the most friendliest faces I know. Always there to help out or give you that push that you’d be thankful for. Once you go to F45 Burnaby West, you can’t go back. 💪🏻

I been a regular gym goer for a good 7-8 years before covid and have tried many workout classes from many box gyms (2 years at good life/ 4 years at steven nash) and some small studios in between. Having been on heitis for almost 2 years due to covid, my fitness level has dropped significantly and desperately want to get back to the gym, and thats when i heard about f45 from a friend. and after 3 month in, it has far exceeded my expectation and is by far my favorite gym. within just the short 3 months, I am already close to my top physical fitness level pre-covid. Even though it is a group fitness class, the trainer really works with you and help you toward your goal. But the best part about f45 Burnaby West is the community and the members. This is something i have never experienced in any of my other gyms before. I always thought it is a cliche or marketing gimic when a gym say they want to build a strong community with its members, but f45 Burnaby actually lives up to this. F45 is a perfect hybrid between your big box gym with a lot of resources and leading technology that you can access, but at the same time it feel completely like your local fitness studio where you know almost everyone there (trainers and members). I would definitely recommend this gym to everyone.

The HIIT workouts are intense and incredibly effective - I'm burning 500-600 calories per session. The coaches and owners are super friendly and helpful, always giving personalized 1:1 feedback and advice when I ask for it. It's clear they care about their clients' progress and success. Highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding fitness experience

If you’re tired of working out alone in the gym and need to be in a community with similar minded people, or the expensive personal training makes you avoid that, you should try 45 training. It’s a great way to keep myself motivated and consistent because of group trainings, feedbacks and the energy I have after each class. The coach in each class give us feedbacks and shows us how to do the set properly and avoid any injuries. Also they offer a 45 days challenge which I strongly recommend that.

I love the fact you never have to worry about the programs. It's never the same, always challenging (at any fitness level), and you're in and out in 45. Can't beat the sweat and feeling you get after you finish a class! More importantly, the coaches and staff always keeps you motivated. I feel that as you grow stronger and better in your fitness, they recognize and challenge you to keep you at your goals. Goes without saying, that the community of fitness goers really help shape the vibe there - it's fantastic. Hands down, one of the best gyms to change your fitness life.
