One of the most beautiful parks in Lower Mainland. Minutes away from city. Good for water sports, picnics, swimming, walking, barbecuing, or just relaxing. Designated sand pit are nice for toddlers and younger kids. Cold showers, lots of shade are cherry on top on scorching sunny days. Pretty huge park so finding spot is easy. But parking is challenging so early morning arrival is recommended.

Nice little park! Difficult to go there or come back to down town but it’s worth a walk ! The view was a little bit foggy but still beautiful and we walked 5k along the coast line and in the park. It’s clean and good for a walk with kids or a dog !

Thoroughly enjoyed the first visit and photo hike at this fabulous waterfront park. At low tide, you can walk to the sandy end of the western-most beach. There’s an Off leash dog area — and there are ’no dog picnic zones’, too. Beautiful views to Deep Cove and Belcarra. Plenty of picnic tables and benches. Great Facilities. Well Maintained. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed a walk along the promenade. I only wish it was longer. Be aware that there is an off leash dog park and area along the trail. The views are spectacular and the trail is wide enough to feel safe even if it is busy. Parking lot upgrades last year are a great improvement. Beach area is lovely and even in the spring, the ocean water was an enjoyable temperature.

Park is located right close to main highway. ✅ Parking is the challenge. There are two parking lots close to the beach & park. Cars are almost double than parking spots. We almost move around 3-4 rounds & then found the tight spot.❌ Walking is around 400 meter from the parking. Best thing is slope is made to carry any rolling cart upto beach. 👌👌👌 Washrooms are available close to beach. Foot Cleaning showers are also available outside of washrooms. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s a sandy normal beach with lots of ducks 🦆. Good spot like any other beach for picnic & family time. 😊

Amazing park with lots of natural beauty. However, this park should be visited in summers in order to have more options in leisure activities. Still not bad enough to walk during winters.

Tranquility at its best. Breath-taking scenic view. Calm place with amazing view and chilling wind. Usually it is crowded during weekends and holidays, so better to go early to find a parking slot and settle under a shade. We can BBQ, eat, drink and relax. Washrooms are not great, but okay.

One of the better parks to visit but visit on weekdays when it’s not bust because the parking lot is usually full on days with decent weather . But Bbq for family is possible here by the water . Good for children and walking

Perfect place to set crab trap and enjoy the water. Nice dog off leash area too. However the covid 19 procedure makes the overhead bridge one way, which does not make a lot of sense. Now the drop off and pick up are extremely hard no matter where you set up your stuff in the park. Plus a lot of people does not respect the one way rule on the bridge.

I like to take my dogs here for walks as they can roam free and I can get a little exercise too. The park is split into no dogs / dogs on leash and dogs off leash. It’s nice to find some ocean side in this area. Lots of parking and not too crowded during the times I have been there.

The park is nice but there are some issues that I want to mention The parking lot is packed most of the time and they will tell you to drive for overflow parking the other side of the street but that parking lot is not big enough too and you will have a difficult time to find a spot Their washrooms are not clean they were out of soup and toilet paper where all around Also one of taps were not working which was not helping However you will enjoy spending time there because There are a sand beach and a stone beach which are perfect for swimming There is nice trail for walk

This is a great seaside park for swimming, water sports, and picnics! There is both a Sandy beach and a rocky beach, as well as a great view of passing trains (it can be a bit loud). There is also lots of wildlife here, so please be respectful and clean up your garbage when you come!

Great place to paddle board over the summer. It's not very busy and there's lots of parking. Bring a blanket though, the grass is very sparse. Lots of geese and birds, they're kinda scary!

A nice long sandy beach to take in the sun. not for swimming but you can dip your toes. Little kids specially enjoy the little barriered area. There are picnic tables, and lots of shady trees. There is lots of marine life and many come to fish. The view is beautiful. Parking is limited but an overflow parking lot across the highway connects to the park.

Awesome off leash dog park where you can walk a ways. Minimal access to the water so you can avoid a wet dog if you want to, or wash them off before you get back to the car. Lots of garbage cans, water available from a stream runoff, and there’s even out houses.

A nice park with beach overseeing the admiralty point park across the river. With trails and parking for the visitors. The water is relatively calm with minimal number of boats in the area. There are options to be in the sun enjoying a tan as well as shades from the trees to avoid the heat. There are changing rooms and bathrooms in the area as well as a mini store for snack and drinks purchases. Shower is available to wash the body off.

Beautiful family (or nonfamily) picnic area with views of mountains and water. Parking might be a challenge on weekends but the part itself is big. Charcoal and gas barbecues are allowed and swimming is at your own risk. One of the nicest beaches in Vancouver metro; certainly a better choice than the super famous English bay and the like!

Title: A Perfect Summer Escape: Barnet Marine Park Delights in Burnaby, Vancouver Rating: ★★★★★ I had the pleasure of visiting Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby, Vancouver on a glorious sunny day, June 24th. This hidden gem proved to be the ideal destination for a day of outdoor fun and relaxation. With its picturesque picnic areas, boating opportunities, enchanting marine life, and excellent amenities, it left an indelible mark on my summer memories. The park's picnic area was an absolute delight. Nestled amidst lush greenery and overlooking the sparkling waters, it provided a serene and inviting atmosphere. We found ample space to spread out our picnic blanket and enjoy a delicious meal while soaking in the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding us. The well-maintained grounds and well-spaced picnic tables added to the overall comfort of the experience. One of the highlights of our visit was the chance to go boating on the crystal-clear waters of the park. The rental boats available made it easy for us to embark on a leisurely exploration of the marine park. Whether we chose to paddle at a relaxed pace or pick up the pace for a bit of exercise, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views kept us captivated throughout our boating adventure. As we paddled along, we were thrilled to spot starfish in the shallow waters. These captivating creatures added a touch of wonder to our excursion, and their presence was a testament to the park's commitment to preserving the marine ecosystem. It was truly a remarkable sight to witness these graceful creatures in their natural habitat. For those seeking a refreshing swim, Barnet Marine Park did not disappoint. The inviting waters beckoned us to take a dip, and the swimming experience was nothing short of invigorating. The water was clean and pleasantly cool, offering respite from the summer heat. The presence of lifeguards further ensured our safety, allowing us to enjoy the water with peace of mind. One aspect that impressed me was the park's well-maintained facilities. The availability of showers and washrooms proved to be a convenient amenity, allowing us to freshen up after our time spent outdoors. It was a testament to the park's dedication to ensuring visitors' comfort and overall satisfaction. Overall, Barnet Marine Park exceeded my expectations and provided a fantastic day out. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational activities, and essential amenities made it a top-notch destination for families, friends, and nature enthusiasts alike. Whether you're looking for a tranquil picnic spot, an exciting boating experience, or the chance to witness marine life up close, this park has it all. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Barnet Marine Park for an unforgettable summer adventure in Burnaby, Vancouver.

It has been over a decade since I have been here. Now I am taking my own kids here and this place doesn’t disappoint. Plenty of social distancing spacing here while a nice swim in the ocean or sunbathing will release all your weekly stress.

Long walking path along the shoreline. Plenty of space for picnics and playing on the beach. There are 2 sides to the parking lot, and it was renovated in 2020.

Great beach, areas for picnic, enough shadows, children's playground, washrooms, the only difficulty is the parking lots - not enough spaces during busy days.

Full of dog droppings from entrance leading to the beach, it is everywhere: on grass, bench, sand … almost every where. No one cares. No patrol or park rangers minds that. You have to open your eye to the widest range in order to avoid stepping on dog droppings. Views are ok. Personally I prefer going to somewhere in Whiterock or Delta for a short picnic trip rather than this.

Amazing place to go for a walk or run, even in the winter. Plenty of space for you and your pet to play fetch or to play frisbee with friends. You can bring your fishing gear and cast away in a fenced area. The scenery is breathtaking and I have a million pictures with the view of the mountains against the clear crisp water. I can’t wait for summer to bring my blanket and bbq!

The Barnet Marine Park is a seaside trail that runs along the base of Burnaby Mountain. It has beautiful views and a long seawall. There are also covered patios and washroom facilities. However, there are many dogs off leash. If you are a jogger or are planning on bringing young children, maybe consider going somewhere else. However, dog owners will love this park.

We love bringing our dog to the off leash part of this park. It's such a gorgeous place to walk along the water while our dog gets his energy out. Our kids also enjoy it here as there are a few little sand areas to play and look for sea glass which is our daughter's favourite ocean front activity.

Great park with a view but a horrible parking situation. They have two parking lots and an overflow parking on the other side of the road. But nothing helps. Park rangers try a lot, but it doesn't help. It is too crowded at certain times, a lot difficult to find spots.

A really wonderful and beautiful park to walk or take a nice stroll on a nice summer day. It is far less busier than many of the beaches and parks in metro Vancouver and has the same sort of wonderful beauty of Barnet. Located between Port Moody and Burnaby along the railway, it’s out of the way which makes it more beautiful in every way. Would recommend! Has a very large picnic area and is dog friendly!

Gorgeous spot at sunset! Nice picnic areas and a decent-sized off-leash park. There was a pervasive smell of chemicals... not sure if that was the industrial areas nearby or not. But it looked beautiful!

  • 4/5 Michelle C. 10 months ago on Google
Great park, lots of space. Had food from the concession and was good and not badly priced. Was busy but had our own space without being too crowded. The water is cold and dirty but refreshing when hot to put your feet in. I found the sand really rough and a lot of rocks, and I would recommend water shoes or sandals. They have public washrooms and change rooms. They also empty their garage cans multiple time so it doesn't get overflowed. We got there at 11:30 am on Saturday of the May long weekend and the parking lot was full. We were able to stop and unload and then went to the overflow parking, which had plenty of parking. It was about a 5-10 minute walk back to the unload zone.

  • 5/5 Gilly B. 1 year ago on Google
Love this place!! Came here on Sunday August long weekend. Arrived at 1030am and the parking lot was full. However we were able to get parking in the overflow lot on the other side of the highway. By 11am, both lots were full. When we left at 330pm, parking lots were still full with people circling for a parking spot. It's a 5min walk down to the beach and we saw lots of people with wagons. It's a steep downhill (and uphill back to parking). There is a concrete pathway. Stroller accessible for those with babies. There were washrooms and outdoor shower/foot washing station. Despite full parking lots, there was space to find a place. Grassy shaded areas under the trees, sandy/rock beach and bbq picnic areas. Roped off area for swimming.

Our favorite spot for summer! Parking space is limited but usually we can find one if we arrive in the morning before 10:30am. The beach is not as nice as the ones on the island but the kids still love to play sands and build sand castle on it. Great view of the Burrard inlet.

  • 5/5 Jason R. 3 years ago on Google
Quiet serene place to walk. The dog walk was quite busy and popular. The beach sand is better than everywhere else in Vancouver except White Rock. The walk takes about 30 min each way but continues beyond the formal trail into the woodsy trail on the west side of the park.
