Picked up take out from Little Cockatoo Cafe. The pljeskavica here is pretty much an open faced burger with a meat patty that is well seasoned - the meat is so tender and juicy. I’m trying not to drool as I write this review. I also tried their cvari which is the Balkan version of pork rinds. I can’t comment on their ambience and restaurant decor but their food is definitely 11/10.

Let this amazing man seduce your taste buds. The sausages and meats are made by the grill master/owner himself. Everything we tried was super tasty. Good prices and portions. More people should know about this.

Amazing traditional Balkan food. Quantity and quality exceeds the price. The owner is a very sweet guy and his style of cooking will blow your mind.

This place exceeded all my expectations. If I could give them 6 stars I would. We ordered a meat platter, and 6 sides. My goodness, it was like being teleported back to grandma's house. The meats were juicy and packed with flavour. The sides were all perfectly balanced and the salads were fresh and vibrant. The ordering process was quick and simple, the owner is a pleasure to speak with! I wish I had known of this place earlier as I believe it's the best Balkan food around. Do yourself a favour and try it out!

The outside appearance does not really match the great experience you can encounter when going for dinner or lunch in this little restaurant. A dedicated owner with love for good food will surprise you. The owner is running the kitchen and the front of the house, so please be patient.

The tastiest food in Burnaby, period. The owner is the grill master.The outside appearance is deceiving; you will not find better grilled food in Lower Mainland.

Delicious! Lots of meat. So if you are in the mood for grilled meats, beer, bread cheese and euro soccer, this is your place to visit.

Best food

The cevapcici (mixed pork and beef) served at Little Cockatoo are tender, juicy, and flavourful. The bread and kajmak which accompanied the cevaps were superior to those served at competing Southeastern European restaurants in Burnaby. This restaurant also offers all-beef cevapcici for those who don't eat pork, or simply prefer beef.

This is not your normal restaurant. This is more like a casual hangout cafe. Walked in to order because I couldn't find a menu online. 0rdered the platter for one and sausage, it was more than enough for 2 people. Platter comes with lots of different favorful meats served with rice and grilled veggies. Try it! Call ahead to pickup!

We planned to go there for lunch on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago as google hours said they were open for lunch. Good thing I called before we went and thankful someone answered the phone to tell us that they weren’t open until later in the day.

Being from Texas and enjoying BBQ this was definitely a different but amazing experience! Great food and great service. There’s a reason they have such a good reviews.
