Before the pandemic I was happy with this gym. Which is the only reason that it's getting 2 stars at this time. Aside from the fact that they lost my banking information 3 times, they are clean and it is a nice atmosphere. Post pandemic however is a different story. I'm still being charged for the elite package but have no access to the elite package amenities that I signed up for. I understand why they are cut off, but I shouldn't be charged the same rate. I also don't agree with a $10 charge for missing or being late for a 1 hour appointment. First of all the charge is higher than some members bi-weekly rate. Second, if I get called in to work last minute or wake up sick that's not something I can help but yet I'm going to be charged for it? It's not a doctor or massage appointment, I'm prepaying for the gym. In fact I'm over paying for it now. I never signed a contract agreeing to all these changes, however I am still holding up my end of the deal. Very disappointed.

I can’t say I would attend this gym, and am currently looking for a new one. I’ve been going to gyms all my life with no complaints, but this location is wildly incompetent. 1. They increased fees with little warning to handle additional costs for cleaning during the pandemic. I don’t mind paying more, but I haven’t seen any improvements from the surcharge. The hand sanitizer is nearly always empty, and is no where near the weights. They don’t even have a bottle near the exit to sanitize before leaving the gym. 2. They have 2 spray bottle areas for the entire gym which leads to waiting to use them, standing next to people. 3. I’ve been charged multiple times for missed workouts when I was there. And they won’t refund you but will give you credit. 4. Despite pre-booking, you’ll be forced to wait 15 minutes in line to get in, with people who haven’t booked. 5. They allow people to walk around with their mask around their chin. Understandably, attending a gym is a personal choice, so you can’t be that picky about people’s behaviour, but what’s the point of having a mask mandate if it isn’t enforced. Frustrating having to wear one when half the people there don’t care to; it defeats the purpose for those who do comply with the gym’s rules. 6. Staff is generally rude. The gym is a service industry at the end of the day. Would be good business to at least have manners. 7. Only 3 squat racks. Will often have to wait to use these and most equipment. On the positive side, it’s inexpensive and there’s always parking. These are easy fixes and would be happy to attend this gym in the future if it’s addressed. But I would rather support a gym that puts in effort and show they care about running a gym.

This Trevor linden has the worst customer service at any gym I have ever dealt with. I first initially tried to call to have my membership cancelled. No answer after several attempts. I then emailed them which it said to do on there answering service. They still charged my account so I went in to talk to someone and they said they would take care of it. An I looked again this morning and they’ve charged me again. Horrible customer service. I Highly recommend not going to this gym. Since initially trying to cancel they charged me three more times plus another random fee. No one ever got in touch with me just charged me a few times

Absolutely terrible gym. Been a club 16 member for over a year and recently started going to this location. The system in which they allow people into the gym is outrageous. Consistently wait between 10-15 minutes just to get in when I am ALREADY BOOKED as they’re entry method is slow. The whole scanning process needs to be sped up as 1/4 of my workout slot time is just waiting to even get in. This needs to change as a faster sign in process is badly needed. Onto the staff they are always in a rush and do not welcome or greet you anytime you arrive. The South Surrey staff demonstrate excellent customer service and friendliness in comparison. As for the gym the lighting needs to be updated. After the sun goes down it’s so dark you can barely see what’s going on inside. The green tint warehouse lights need to go. I am overall disappointed with this south Burnaby location. Club 16 as a whole is much better than this. Staff here need to be trained better on customer service and a new method in getting people in faster without waiting needs to be addressed.

Zero stars. Will be going elsewhere after 8 years of dedication to this facility. Kendra the personal trainer specifically is absolutely atrocious and I am now aware of multiple clients who have provided the same testimony as myself. She is unprofessional and aggressive. The club manager has “handled” the situation which resulted in her lying to her leader about our exchange. After many glares and looks from Kendra throughout my workouts we arrived to the same machine (she ran to it after realizing we were heading to the same spot, which is shown on camera btw) to which she aggressively said that “this can go one of two ways and I am going to use it first” throwing her bags down in front of me. My reply “ok you dont need to be rude?” She then calls me names and storms off. Keep in mind this is an EMPLOYEE. As in, a reflection of the business - yikes. while I can appreciate the manager speaking to her after I addressed this it was not a surprise she said this never even happened and in fact I was the aggressor. If you enjoy mean looks, bully mentality and a roided out PT then by all means hire Kendra and/or share the workout space with an individual like so. Unfortunately after this experience I will be cancelling my membership, either Club 16 south Burnaby is desperate for staff or perhaps as they mentioned they just find this behaviour “coachable” after losing the business of dedicated clients.

Please do not waste your money and time in this place! Their booking system is awful, the gym is supper busy, if you’re lucky you may be able to book for 3 days in week which one week in advance! They still get new members, cause money is much better than people’s time! So the more they get new members the less would be your chance to book for day! If you miss your booked session, they’ll charge you 10 dollars! All sets are super busy, You may never get a chance to use them in a day! Personal trainers are rude to other members! I really have many many issues here, Whenever I come here I deeply feel looser who spent money for my membership

One of the worst they are activly still scamming me. The worst costumer service. I’ve been trying to cancel my subscription since September they are refusing as I got severely injured and only went one day of my monthly subscription tried to cancel only 16 days after I paid a full month. I sent them my doctor papers and asked to cancel. They keep insisting I owe them what’s close to 300$ for a one time visit and I clearly asked if I’m gonna be asked other payments. The person registered me said nothing at all and you can cancel anytime. Tried to cancel they said I have to pay money. They said we will cancel if you pay I said ok send me a payment plan they agreed then none called and it’s been more than a month and payments are increasing for a place that I don’t even use or visit. Never ever go here Endless lies to steal your hard earned cash. Why would I pay a place I can’t go to and I can’t even cancel

I'm using Club16 and am planning to move to another country, trying to cancel. However, each staff member explained the cancellation process differently when I called, leading me to take the wrong steps wasting my time and money. They asked for two documents proving my move when I tried to cancel. I prepared those, but then they provided me a cancellation approval number and instructed me to pass this number to the customer service department. Once I did, they rejected and requested two more different documents. It's a really frustrating and complex cancellation process. It's taking me days of effort just to cancel one gym membership. I'm so annoyed rn I will NEVER recommend this gym to anyone I know. every staffs at gym are telling me to contact and get it done by email, but I can never get some answers quickly.

I do not typically leave negative reviews as I understand my experience could be a one off and these businesses are doing their best. Secondly, what I'm about to share has no impact on this location but Club 16 as a whole. I, like many, stopped going to the gym when the pandemic hit. Club 16 suspended payments which was awesome and I appreciated that. In the summer, I noticed that they had begun withdrawing payments (3). I contacted them to express concern I was not made aware these would restart. I also was concerned that I received no warning that payments were to be resumed unless I requested the freeze to continue. The representative said that Club 16 advised their customers via Social Media and through email. I explained that I do not follow them on Social Media and when I asked what email they had on file, the representative said that I didn't have any email on file. She also indicated that this was my fault even though this was not discussed when I first signed up over 5 years ago. I first emailed my concern on July 16. In total, I have sent 9 emails and made several calls. I was assured that I would be contacted by a manager. This manager called me once and when I returned the call, no answer. She called me the following day and said she would call me within 30 minutes as I was finishing dinner. I did not receive a follow-up call. I called the telephone number once again and still have not received a callback. I have emailed the representative as I haven't received resolution through telephone. She advised me she would re-escalate. I have not heard from anyone since then. I also emailed the rep on October 10 and October 27 and still no response. Based on my experience, Trevor Linden Club 16 has no desire or interest in resolving the concerns of long-time customers. They also look to put blame on their customers to absolve their processes of any fault or issue. Aside the fact that they've left a customer concern go unresolved for almost half a year, they decided to charge me an annual maintenance fee while I am trying to resolve this issue. I will be cancelling this membership, not due to the staff at the High Gate location or the facilities, but because they show zero willingness to support their customers through issues they've experienced. I hope this review helps you choose your exercise facility. If general courtesy or customer support is important to you, I'd suggest avoiding this business.

I'd leave a zero if I could. Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced. They don't answer emails or phone calls. They agreed to cancel my membership but continued to charge me beyond the agreed amount. Equipment is constantly broken. She's Fit side is always in disarray. Awful gym. Don't waste your money. I understand you get what you pay for, but this is so bad, they should be paying you.

I have never left a negative review before, but I wanted to share my experience so far. Signed up in March and received 2 'no-show' charges even though I showed up. They told me it would be credited to my account, but it has yet to come through. Staff never answer the phone - very frustrating, especially because there's always several employees at the sign-in desk. Also, the staff that I have spoken to have not been friendly. Never seen a smile from one of them. They seem to be very judgmental which is the WORST for a gym. PROS: They have several pieces of equipment. Bathrooms are always clean. Spray bottles and paper towels are readily available. Lots of mat space in She's Fit. Overall, not the best place for a starter gym or if you need to boost your confidence - you definitely won't get it from the employees.

Stay away. They will continue to take money from your account even if you cancel. Zero customer service, the staff are too busy talking to eachother. Head office is worse, they just keep transfering your call to voicemails that never call back. Took me 2 months just to change my credit card information. I wish I could rate this -1

After my review a month ago I'm very impressed that Trevor Linden Fitness is taking the initiative to renovate the washrooms...can't wait to see what it will look like when it's all done..but for now if you have a membership here I suggest you upgrade to workout at other locations until the renos are done... I won't be back for while at this location...but im bumping up my stars to 5 since these improvements are being done.Awesome 👌 After all the complaints on below..I decided to check this place out for myself. So here is my review : Pros: - Staff is nice but very quiet so if you are the type that doesn't want anyone to say hello to you then this is your gym and no one is pushing you to purchase anything and they are helpful if you want to purchase something. - no loud music so good for people who bring thier own headphones/ earbuds. -Big facility and lots of areas to do floor work -Underground free parking with so much space and no time limit so great location for a rainy day. -Elevator from parking garage to gym so you won't have to go outside - mostly a young crowd who all minds thier business all into thier workouts and the elder ladies are really motivating to be around since they aren't giving the young fit ladies dirty looks or trying to push them off any machines. - female change rooms are inside the "shes fit" facility -located by a grocery store inside a mall -very clean - one thing is a really BIG deal was the air inside this facility is quite fresh smelling and clean as if there is an air purification cleaning the air. - many mask wearing cliental while working out so facility feels covid safe - hydrotherapy room was very clean with disinfect spray and paper towels - bought a good quality workout tshirt for $20 - big windows in both areas by the cardio machines - bottled water station is available but only in the main area not in the "she's fit" section. - main area is quite big and bright. I enjoyed the layout so much I actually stayed a long time to get my workout in and had all the machines I needed to complete a good long workout for the day. - nice vibe and very diverse crowd. Cons: - female change rooms are very small and a little outdated but toilet seats are very clean. - not enough machine equipment inside the "she fit" section so you are forced to go into the main workout area to finish up on the machines, unless you want to do some free weights and floor work. - although shower stalls was clean and no moldy smells coming out of the drain. I wasn't impressed with one of the showers as the drain was running very slow so the water was filling up under my feet so I needed to re wash my feet as I was pretty grossed out not sure if all showers have this issue but I definitely won't use the first shower stall on the left ever again. -"Shes Fit" section is quite dark and grey on a rainy day with low lighting. Therefore you'll have to push yourself extra hard to get your energy going and some people could get a bit uninspired to workout unless you have music to keep u going. - top of the lockers in the womens change rooms are very dusty as I found out trying to put my umbrella on the top shelf. Overall I really like this location as it works for someone like myself.

I visited for this gym for the first time hoping to do a drop in in the weight room. They told me there's no drop ins due to covid restrictions and the only option is to sign up for a yearly membership. They told me I can cancel after 1 month but the upfront fee for this 1 month is $50. I think that's too expensive and unreasonable to pay without trying the gym first. I decided to do some research one bc government website regarding gym restrictions. There is nothing about no walk ins. Only capacity limits, masks, and vaccination status. The staff was very rude and stuck up. I told the staff other gyms do walk ins. They replied that trevor linden tries to set an example. The only example they set is how to force more money from people and making them feel unwelcome. Will not be going back to this company.

I have tried calling to cancel my membership for a few weeks, sent an email like they say to do and they are STILL not cancelling it. I have to go in but I don't want to since all I ever see is a group a staff at the desk making fun of the members.... some good staff but most are horrible. Do not reccomend.

I was paying for membership I thought was frozen for the last several months. But the real problem is they took so long to get back to me after I physically visited the gym to discuss (had to also followed up), and when they (manager) finally did, they had no idea what my issue was (not communicated properly internally). Contrary to what was discussed in person, they chose to not give me hardly any credit back, choosing a few bucks over member. I was planning on returning but not anymore. They only Say they care about members, it's just disappointing.

Since the beginning the service has been mediocre. General manager doesn't even know how to do basic math or knows his systems, I basically had to walk him through and explain to him with crayons. Last month they overcharged me for time that I already had paid (which management said it was fixed).

Be aware of overcharging!! Just cancelled my membership due to the terrible customer service. According to the counsellor from my new gym ,they couldn’t charge any other fee if that fee wasn’t in your contract. In fact , my new gym got lot of new customers from here due to this problem. Only this gym is charging No show fee! You have the right to reject paying and even cancel your membership without any penalties if you were singed before this policy!! In addition, their staff are so drama and unfriendly.I have no idea why they need to make a story for telling their boss they didn’t do anything wrong. All I can say is never believe their staff ,request evidence such as security video.Eeven though I asked they just ignored.

For current members: Check your credit card statements, as they have charged me 4 for missed appointments even though I was there. For prospective new members: beware that they have issues with their log in system, which is what dictates whether or not you get charged for missing an appointment or not, which in turn leads to you being charged for missing appointments despite being there. Gym itself is pretty good, lots of machines but slow to fix broken ones. Numerous issues with their sign in system and charging late fees despite not being late, and after raising the issue with staff multiple times it continues to occur.

On July 8th 2023(around 2pm), I went to check out this facility with my dad. We went up to the front desk hoping to find a welcoming demeanor, but apparently not. We we're just wanting to have a drop in session and the man and woman at the front desk just flatly stated "It's $20(per person) since you're not a member". What happened to the "3 day free trial membership" advertised on their website? Or having helpful customer service? We immediately felt judged by these two employees since they wanted us to flat out pay $40 for a cramped facility with no tour guide or recommendation to even sign up as members. Is it not around $5 bi weekly? So why should we pay a whole monthly fee for just a drop in?It is with great disappointment from me that their prices aren't as transparent on the website about drop-ins and that the employees exuded such unfriendliness(no explanation on membership pricing, deals, generally seeming disinterested, unhelpful). I have been left a voice message by the manager to get started as a member and was expecting a similar welcoming response from the front desk. Perhaps this is why they're so adament on "booking a date for setting up membership" since generally their employees aren't welcoming if you're new(let's be honest, not everyone can commit to a special day for "gym orientation"). I've gone to recreational centres before and there would always be a gym facilitator/front desk representative who will give guidance on the facility(*cough cough* the drop-in prices were around $5-7) . All in all, they just care about getting the most money out of you and not about the customer experience at all.

Absolutely love this place! Great location, very friendly staff, lots of different equipment and all in good condition. Considering my busy schedule, I like to come in the morning to finish my workout and this gym opens at 5AM and it’s located right across my building, can’t wish for more! I’ve been training with John as my personal trainer for almost three months and I can’t say enough good things about him. Not having exercised for three years due to numerous injuries, I was afraid to start all over again, but when I started training with John, I knew after very first session that he is the perfect coach for me. He is very professional but also personable and extremely knowledgeable. John has answers on tons of questions I keep asking him every session and he often does research in between the lessons on topics I am interested in so we discuss them during the lessons. He is trying to understand my lifestyle and eating habits not only my fitness goals when tailoring the training program for me. He is very busy but always willing to adjust the timing of my classes to fit my schedule and my preferences. I am very pleased with the results that I am achieving under John’s guidance, he constantly raises my limits and keeps challenging me. I love the feeling of being stronger and fit training after training.

This club16 is conveniently located. I've been a member since the beginning of the post-pandemic world and it's been a great experience! Peak hours being the only rough experience as it could be really full and you may not have space to workout comfortably and may have to tweak your workouts a bit on the go. I started personal training with Kendra and she has been very caring towards my needs! She's very passionate about helping you and intently listens to what your goals are and adjusts the workout regime to what you need on-the-go. I've shown great progress towards my injury and just overall strength. 10/10 would recommend Kendra especially if strength building is what you are looking for.

Changing my review to 1 star. I called earlier in the week to inquire about paying the $3 drop in fee at Club 16 BBY (I’m on the basic membership at another location). At the time, I was told that this was ok and was assisted with booking an online time slot. When I arrived I was told that I wasn’t allowed to workout at this location, but only at my home gym. Then, I waited 30 minutes to speak to a manager. If this a new rule, then why isn’t this communicated to customers? P.S. the workers at this location are extremely rude!

Very unprofessional staff and management. It has taken 7 months of emails with a wait of over 3 months for a response. Understandably, during the pandemic they had to change and introduce policies. The staff were either incapable of keeping up with their own fast changing information, or the policies for freezing the membership was not correctly interpreted and therefore presented to me incorrectly. I was advised that I could freeze the membership for as long as I wanted to during the pandemic. However, after a couple of months when I wanted to start using the gym again I was told that my membership was completely cancelled, then I was told that it could be frozen for only 30 days (which at that time nobody mentioned, and 3 of the staff were very "understanding" and explained that Club16's membership freezing policy was introduced to accomodate members that did not feel comfortable for whatever reason to attend the gym during the pandemic), and now if I want to rejoin, I have to pay the sign up fees and the assesments... Last email communication with them was in April when they said they would speak to the manager regarding my issue and get back to me. Nobody got back to me until I emailed them a few days ago. And today I received a phonecall where they told me that they can't do anything for me and can't reinstate my membership, and just listed current promotions that they have for new members.

I've been a member from the time it opened. I really enjoy working out there with a few exceptions. Some of the equipment is getting pretty old. Floor mats, machine attachments, workout benches etc are showing wear and tear. Also I really felt pushed into signing up for personal training which I've never used but fully paid for which is on me for falling for the pressure. Staff is hit and miss. Some I'm super friendly with and others don't give me the time of day. Overall it's a convenient place for me to work out.

I've been coming to this location for 9ish months now and it has become a safe haven. A gym in general can be nerve wracking to start, but as someone with anxiety disorders and being severely overweight, it may as well have been a nightmare. That being said, from the moment I got there all the staff were so welcoming and understanding, I didn't feel judged at all. The biggest asset for me has been my training sessions with John. Right from the consultation he listened to my concerns and put me at ease. He made me feel like my goals are achievable. He has a great attitude and quick wit so our training sessions always leave me smiling. The workouts are never boring and are extremely well rounded, and John is very good at pushing his clients but also respecting their limits. For someone who has frequent panic attacks, he is able to stop and adjust a workout without missing a beat. Importantly, John isn't focused only on the work in the gym, but also finding a healthy lifestyle, recognizing the significance of sleep, stress relief and nutrition, he doesn't shy away from any questions. Whether your goals are just getting stronger, or weight loss, and everything in between, I could not recommend a better or more supportive trainer.

I started going back to the gym with a clear goal in mind, get healthy. Working in the film industry makes this a bit more challenging. Long hours, less sleep, and stress eating all occur while living the production lifestyle. Kendra, one of the trainers here, has taught me how to balance out the kind of workouts I do, from shedding some unwelcome extra weight, to also gaining practical muscle which shows. Just like everyone I don't have much time, and she showed me exactly how to workout whichever desired muscle group I wanted to within an efficient amount of time. No more 3 hour gym days, these workouts leave me sweating and also max me out so I can get on with my day. Kendra is great because she's no nonsense, and she'll push you to your physical limit each session. I saw results within a month of being trained by her, losing a solid amount of body fat % while also gaining a large amount of muscle % as well. Show up early, do your warmup and get to work on time with her, you'll want the full hour with her. Highly recommend!

Overall, good gym if you go at the right time, which I do. That being said, it could use more equipment such as hip-thrust or pec-fly machine as most gyms of this size has. Staff overall are nice. I do wish the gym had gave less strikes, and leniency on disrespectful club members, vs providing warnings or suspensions. I have been going to this gym for a couple years now, and the tenured staff members definitely keep things positive, and going. My reason for giving it a 5 star review is because I was fortunate enough to be paired with Dennis, who is the best trainer at that gym. He understood my goals almost 3 years ago, and has worked with me rigorously, and provides workout knowledge, food intake knowledge, customized planning for my day to day to stay on track, responds to questions/DMs effortlessly, and checks in on my progress as frequently and seriously as I check in my own. This guy seriously gets satisfaction out of working in partnership with each and every one of his clients who are serious about changing their lifestyle for the better. I can also say he is experienced and has awareness of each of his clients unique goals, conditions (personal/physical) and customizes each and every one of his strategies for each client. I have continued to work with him, since he is always levelling up his skills, therefore I am consistently learning, developing, and accelerating my goals. I am glad to say I am the best version of myself ever thanks to him, and it feels fantastic. I highly recommend you request Dennis if you are actually serious about transforming your lifestyle, and body. If you're all in, he's in just as much! Ok I’m going to be a little bias. First I’m a huge fan of Trevor linden and second I live close by. Overall I think it’s good gym especially with the amount of available parking spots. I’m sure a lot of people including myself can appreciate it, because we all had to wait in our cars for a free parking spot at some point and it’s not a great way to start the gym session. The machine are up to date and have everything you need, the weights can be replaced but I’ve seen worst else where. The staff are friendly and overall the environment is pleasant. The price is incredible, I’ve paid almost $100/months at other gym, so it’s great that club16 can accessible to everybody.

This is absolutely terrible. I suspect that all the 5-star reviews here are from friends and family 😂. Firstly, it's not inexpensive, with a weekly cost of $12 plus a $100 activation fee and an annual fee of around $70, bringing the total to $482. When you consider the options like GoodLife and other fitness clubs, Club 16 doesn't even come close – it's quite subpar. Secondly, all the staff members are exceptionally unpleasant. After COVID, this club has only deteriorated further.

I called a few weeks ago and asked the guy who answered the phone about the minimum age to work out was for the free 3 day trial. He said that my 16 son which I wanted to work out was of age but required me to sign to waive him. So with that being said I arranged for 8pm to come workout with my son. I drove from east vancouver (over 30mins) The guy I spoke to didn't even make note of it in the computer so when I arrived the staff there said there was nothing here to inform that I was supposed to be there at 8pm. She (Charlotte..the manager))explained to me it is in the contract when (if)I joined the gym my son would be allowed and just require me to sign off for him so he can work out..after I paid for the membership!!! What good it is that I can't even test the gym out first! It is important to do a test run..to find out for example how people work and wipe their sweat off after they've used them, if and how people share the equipment etc. Will not bother trying out the gym.. let alone get a membership!

Working out with personal trainer Sunny. Putting me through paces that really challenge me. He uses custom exercise movements to incorporate your entire body. Best health club I have ever been a member of. clean, excellent staff, every machine, weight, rack, bench, cardio machine you will ever need. I am slowly transforming my flabby old 60 year old body with better eating habits and regular exercise into a healthy longer lasting machine!!! January 1 -> February 15th - stay tunes for updates

So many gym and training centers popping up......clearly this location is terrific. Open entire day into the evening. Terrific staff especially Jonathan who always helps out with anything you need whether it be a short how-to or try this and even as a spotter! He is always willing to give a hand unconditionally. Great spot so try it out and thanks Jonathan for making the workouts more enjoyable.

I'll take this time to recognize my Personal Trainer Holly Jang how amazing she is on every session we have and even on her days off. We definitely built awesome connection on a personal level, that's why I am renewing my sessions with her! I always look forward to our training sessions twice a week because she motivates me, pushes me, inspires me and supports me to achieve my goals! She's very flexible every time I need to make changes on my schedule with her. We always share good laughs and positivity all throughout our sessions and even on recovery days. Holly is a gem and I have never felt comfortable and confidence on any gym facility/trainer before. My family is also happy I'm making progress on my overall health, physical and emotional level. 💞💞 The facility is always clean, I like the machines they have and specially She’s fit area where I feel so comfortable working out. Staffs are all nice and smiling when you enter the gym and very affordable membership price! I wish I signed up in here years ago!

I became a member at this location of CLub16in 2019, and have never once regretted my decision. I signed up for personal training with Laura and then when Laura left to another location, I trained with Jonathan. Training sessions with Jonathan have been great for their results, as well as being a lot of fun. I would think that if the other trainers are as good as Laura and Jonathan, this Club16 has a really strong staff of people to support your fitness goals. There's also a good community vibe at this gym, and it's a friendly place for anyone to go to for fitness and fun. Highly recommend Club16 to anyone, and recommend this location in particular!

Just finished 24 sessions of personal training with John. Honestly I was a bit wary of investing a decently sized amount of money to have someone train me. But I can say it was worth every penny. I used to train hard when I was younger and thought I knew a decent amount already. But John was able to expand my knowledge and keep me accountable and on track which was most important. If you're looking to get back into the gym or start fresh. John is a wealth of knowledge and experience. Couldn't be happier to leave a review!

*MISLEADING and SCAMMY CUSTOMER SERVICE* I went to the location to register and was signed by Harneet. the first thing I told her was “I only want to register if you guys allow me to pay on the go without having payments automatically get deducted from my credit card”. She said “Yes we can put your credit card as a method of payment just to finish the form and you can pay with your debit card for one month plus two free month we have right now until September”. Two days ago I receive an email notifying me that I have a $9 payment I need to pay or i will get charged an extra fee after 7 days. I was astonished that they have put my credit card for use and have been charging me six payments, and when I am trying to reach out to a manager to look into it no one seems to be returning my calls or emails. I had to go and pay to close my account and they didn’t even bother compensating for the horrible and misleading service I received . I asked the front desk for a copy of the contract and nowhere in it have I given authorization for my credit card to be used.

Terrible policy about freezing account or cancel. If you want to maintain your membership, you need to keep paying even if you cant use the facility. Otherwise you will need to pay the registration fee again.

I would give them no stars if I could . Put my membership on freeze due to covid and was notified that they no longer offer this option so I emailed them to cancel my membership. They told me I could only do this in person which what I was trying to avoid due to being highly exposed to Covid as I am a Health Care Provider. Machines are all broken, staff look like they hate there jobs and could care less about them with no morale no one class anything here or social distances . Pay more and go somewhere else

always so unimpressed with the lack of care the STAFF members have for this gym- a few months ago I told the person working at the front desk that the fire extinguisher had fallen off the wall and was lying in the middle of the floor. three days later it was still still laying on the floor. it was until i emailed management that it was actually removed . today i came to the gym and the main entrance door was locked. me and another member stood outside thinking the gym was closed until we saw another member come out of the side door. I asked the girl at the front desk if the door was broken she said no, i told her it was locked and she said she would have someone open it. i finished my workout and was leaving and opened the door to some members that were thinking same thing door is locked gym is closed. my workout was an hour long! are you telling me she didn't tell someone for an hour to go unlocked the door? I went back upstairs and told the same girl the door is still locked and she really could have cared less! she was like " well the side door is open " but the main door is locked!! i went to save on after to do a shop and walked passed and tried the door and it was still locked! if the staff doesn't are about the gym how are members going to? SAD to see that people dont respect where they work

The equipment is amazing. I have great workouts there. My pet peeves is people that don't wear their face mask properly and people sitting on equipment chatting or texting on their phone. I don't know how many times I've seen staff walk by people wearing their masks in properly and not say anything. Still a great gym😊

So I haven't gone to a gym in over 10 years and I was feeling pretty stressed about getting into a correct and health workout regime on my own. So thank god for Tara my personal trainer at this gym. Boy did she motivate me and focus on my actual needs. I had some hard times in the last few months due to some health issues and she was right there to motivate me and to keep me going. I have thanks to her reached my first milestone goal in the last 12 weeks. For anyone out there looking for someone who will help the with just getting started, Tara is very motivational and knowledgeable about focusing on improving your bodies specific weaknesses. Also she is super fun and happy. I've loved working out with her. :)

Good job team Club 16. Affordable yet, very well managed. The girls there have the best attitude. Great customer service and there’s always enough people to help if you need anything. They just stepped it up a notch with Covid rules. There are so many gyms out there that charge 4 times the price and ask you to bring your own paper towels and masks are “mandatory” but won’t do a thing if people don’t wear it. Club 16 is safe, they are respectfully strict, and i love how all members happily follow the protocols without a twitch

We had signed up about a week ago and had gone once to the South Burnaby location and we do not feel safe being at your gym. Many COVID19 protocols are not being followed especially with the social distancing, fully enforcing mask being worn throughout the entire time as well as “booked appointments.” In that one time that we were at the gym appointments were staggered but was not fully enforced. Announcements were being made when the appointment is “over” for the hour but not everyone leaves and it adds up to a pool of people overlapping their appointments. Almost 60 people are booked each hour but not 60 people leave when announcements are made, I do suggest enforcing a more COVID19 safe protocol otherwise members can put other members at risk especially the people/members who are immunocompromised like my partner and myself. And later that same day that I sent in my safety concern I receive a notification that one of their members had tested positive to COVID19!!! I have called the gym and emailed Melinda(manager) and was promised that I was going to hear from her the the same day which was Wednesday last week but a week have passed and I still have not heard from her. Please do yourself a favor and sign up for a much safer gym.

It's a really great gym, there's tons of machines, and even a women's only section. The staff are always super friendly. It's in a great location, right next to a drug store, many restaurants, a liquor store, and a grocery store. My only complaint is that it really depends when you go. Since it's such a great location, some periods of the day are really tricky to do a consistent workout because certain machines are very popular.

I just wanted to give recognition to the manager and the fitness manager Charles&Jonathan at this location! These two have worked together and created a positive change in the club! This club had a high turnover in staff and management over the recent years! Since Charles has been managing the club, I have noticed the staff are significantly happier and the club is running much smoother with less high school drama! I actually feel like it’s a professional establishment! Charles has spent time connecting with his staff and his members and has been extremely tactful in reorganizing the equipment and making recommendations for new equipment! He is always hands on and I can only imagine how highly stress the position can be, yet his disposition is always welcome and calming, yet very professional! Good job Club16 for finally getting a manger that is running this location with so much professionalism and commitment to his staff and gym members! I’m a frequent gym member and I come from a customer service background and highly appreciated Charles presence in our gym! You definitely got someone that shows leadership skills and takes true ownership! I hope you recognize and appreciate good staff and management, because I know I truly do!

For almost an entire year I trained here with Sammy, and she is amazing! She made sure that my workouts were totally suited to my needs. When I went through a health crisis she changed up everything and worked on giving me exercises that helped stabilize my condition and made me feel super good about myself again. The music is always pretty good, the equipment is usually available, and it's kept super clean. I'd recommend training with Sammy to anyone, and this gym is pretty good just to use too.

I'm new to the gym but it didn't take long for me to feel comfortable, and it's all thanks to my amazing personal trainer, Tara! She is such a gem and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher to show me the ropes. She pushed me every session and ensure I was reaching my maximum potential. Not only did I see improvements in my strength and endurance, but I definitely feel a boost in confidence. I look forward to our sessions, and even extended my sessions - I have so much more to learn, and Tara has so much to offer. She listened to my needs - it wasn't only about lifting weights, doing cardio, but her approach is more holistic and she helped me target areas that I feel I need improvements (weak ankles, bad back). And we always had a good laugh! Overall, Club 16 is a great gym. The staff are super friendly and accommodating and they have a good range of equipment to use. Although I mostly stay in the She's Fit area, I find that the gym patrons have always been respectful towards each other. It's nice to know that there's a gym in my neighbourhood where I can feel safe and comfortable.

Working out at club 16 is so much fun. The staff there are always so nice, Kristina at front desk is great and so friendly when I come in. She always says hello and is always so sweet. The location of the gym is great because you'll always find parking and it's free as well. The staff is always so helpful and very informative. I will always recommend this gym to all my friends and family.

The gym has a good configuration and good floor plan - the availability of both the gym and the alternative of a She's Fit option. The location is convenient and the high ceiling provides a comfortable workout environment. I have worked with trainer Sammy for almost a year now and she had prepared/designed exercises which targeted my weakness and I have progressed at a good pace and able to see my improvement. The staff are great and the gym provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.

Very disappointed about this place there’s never availability on the website to make appointments if you come 15 mins late after your appointment they charge 10 bucks, same if you don’t show up, waitlist sometimes is about 1 hour.

Very disappointed with the new $10 fee that is charged for being late for more than 5 min at the appointment. I mean really? I am still being charged the same monthly membership amount, but now I am being charged for being late to the appointment? This seems like a new COVID-19 revenue stream for the company. That's not right.
