We went there today and which is a sunny day! Clean beach ,bathroom on site and pay parking. Everybody should know if you come a little late in the afternoon you won’t be able to find the parking spot. The best time to come is about 6:30 am. Or 7:00am otherwise you have to park away from the lake about 500 meter -1 km. Away and walk to the lake witch is a bit to much for walking and carrying stuff for picnic. There is the small food shop for you if you don’t want to bring your lunch box , the shop open about 12:30 pm and probably busy and lineup for quite long. Better way to carry your meal with you. Safety place to visit the security always checking up time to time and restrict for drinking .. For animal lover you could enjoy the goose walking and disturbing your food 😆 please don’t feed them with fries or grease food to safe our goose friends .. Highly recommend this place for your family weekend you will love it..

Leave before 8:59pm or you're getting locked in. For real. If you arrive at the gate at 9:00pm you're screwed... The DB rangers will have left and you'll have to call the Belcarra fire department (they have a key).

Beautiful place. Its safer to kayak with a smaller lake kayak earlier in the day. Parking costs around $12.50 per car and I don't think there's any way to check if the parking lot is full. They need to fix that flaw because it's a very long drive in there only to find out there's no parking and remember to get the app HONK. That's the one I used. I believe you can use debit visa/Mastercard and all other forms on online payment like google pay etc. Not sure about pay pal but it would all be on the app. There no cash payment option.

I love this park above and beyond! The trails are fantastic, well-marked and maintained, it is usually not crowded, and it relatively easy to get to. Apart from the Dilly-Dally loop I have done all of them, and I particularly liked the Diez Vistas trail. I highly recommend it!

There's a buge meadow by the lake, which makes a perfect place for picnicing and barbeque. The associated parking lot have average plenty of space but can be busy during public holidays. I prefer hiking along the trail crossover a hill to reach a secret beach where you can see a beautiful tiny isle stood in the sea water just 200 meters away. It's quite worth a sweating 3km-hiking and the sameway back.

very beautiful place to have a picnic and just hang out with friends. the beach is huge, so perfect for social distance if needed. we went on the trail to go around the beach, took us around an hour 30mins. nice walk for beginners, not many incline or descent. the view is spectacular and we went on the long floating bridge, perfect for taking pictures and enjoying the nature

Beautiful place with a nice selection of hiking/walking trails. Get there early even on a weekday to be able to find parking.I couldn't give it 5 stars though because the noise pollution can get quite bad with trains and construction and boat motors its hard to get the peace you would seek from a natural environment.

Nice place to spend the day with family, friends, or yourself. There are shadows spots, picnic area, paddle rental, washrooms, and a little food store.

Amazing place to visit. The shorter trail is just 3.2k and very easy. Place has a food place open from 11-6 with vegetarian options right by the second beach.

Nice and clear water! Swimming in the lake after a long time, was a unique experience for me personally. Had a feeling of swimming in a standard pool but with a feeling of being in touch with the beautiful nature of British Columbia. Don't miss it, try it and see how the fresh water brings up joy and relaxes your entire body and soul...

Work on my birthday with the park rangers of Metro Vancouver mostly every weekend u see me there with Mt coworkers and we try our best to get everyone through to parking but it definitely gets fill up where we close it for a few too couple hours as there aren't much parking spaces but when they're we do let everyone a chance into the park too enjoy. Besides the park being full I suggest an Uber to get in or leaving ur car down by one of the bus loops as 182 and 150 I think go too the park, as they're strict rules for the parking and letting certain people in as people live here, visitors too those who live here. Busses are allowed and Ubers. They are Handicap parking and aren't usually being used so that's a plus to certain people. But great place to enjoy and parking is needed to pay. Enjoy! Especially with your family, definitely got to arrive early to get parking most days...this is the only parking for white pine and sassnat so only other way is the transit busses or Uber.

Great lake. The water is warm and there is a concession stand with food that I didn't try. Beware goose poo though.

Nicely groomed trails and good not too steep stairs. The fresh breeze of the lake was heavenly.

Doesn’t get better than this. Please visit this magical land. This feels like BC. Only negative is pay parking. $3 for 1 hour, $5 for 2. Free parking from 7-10am. Okay one other note, only open from 7am - 8pm. Seems silly to have such an incredible sunset view and the close it for sunset.

Belcarra Picnic Area is a nice place for gatherings, you have green pasture, mountain, sea (for paddling), trail for a walk.

This is the same as Belacarra Picnic area. This is beautiful with so many things to do. The trails the hikes the kayaking and the proximity to North Vancouver are some of the main attractions of this place.

Easy to get to but car but you must GPS TO THE BELCARRA BATHROOM, not the trailhead. If you GPS to the trailhead you'll find that the parking lot is only accessible if you're a pedestrian. However if you GPS to the bathroom you can drive your car into the parking lot and then you can walk out of the parking lot to the trailhead easily. Otherwise there's an 11 minute detour by car to get to the parking entrance. There's no food or drink places there, bring a lunch or drive back to town. We saw people fishing and crabbing there. You can walk out onto the marina and enjoy the gentle waves beneath your feet. There was also a wedding set up at the picnic benches which have an overhead cover to keep dry under. You can take trails down to the beach which can be Rocky and steep at times with lots of tree roots. At the beach you can look at Jug Island! The Beach trail to look at Jug Island is probably about 5 km and takes just a few hours.

Good place for family. Kids can play at playground while parent make BBQ. It's fun to just hanging out, going under water or kayak

  • 5/5 Barry E. 2 years ago on Google
Nice grassy area off the parking lot ($2/hr thru 9/30). Get there early on weekends or holidays for a place to park. Decent restrooms. You can rent kayaks or use your own. Excellent place to paddle! Low tide can make access muddy. Great views all around the islands and points. The pier is large and the trails are good and well marked.

  • 5/5 Bat G. 3 years ago on Google
It's so peaceful here. Saw people fishing and crabbing. Lots of open space for picnic. Be careful when you're following directions to the park on G maps, it seems to lead you off to a local traffic area with no exit. Make sure you follow the signs leading to the park.

Fantastic for kayaking, scenic, and teaming with marine life, Belcarra is an ideal place to stop for the day if you're looking for somewhere to go. There's a beautiful little pier to walk out on, a lovely little beach, a great big green space for BBQs, and washroom facilities are kept in fantastic condition. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! We brought our own kayak, but there are rentals on site.

This is a great area. Swimming, boating, hiking. It has it all. The park fills up very early on the weekend and they will close the gate to stop vehicles if parking is full. There is also a gang of Canadian Geese on the beach. If you don't bug them they will not bug you. Also, there is an offleash dog park with access to the water, which is nice
