Excellent place to watch the wildlife! Many birds, including cranes endangered specie, squirrels, fish. Fishing not really a good thing to do there ,lots of waterplants on surface . Dogs can walk around the lake ,but not close to the birds feeding area. Limited parking

It’s not just a lake it’s more, it’s an evening and morning walk. It’s to get connected back to yourself. You can see common birds here , water as well tree birds. You also can spot some raptors like bald eagle, falcon etc. Sometimes you can see cranes or flight of cranes too. If want to get more connected with these little souls you can try to feed them on your Palm , look on my photos. But if you wanna do that I suggest you to wear clothing near to the color of nature and don’t wear flashy mask on face if you’re wearing one. You can sometimes see water sports. You can also see butterflies but in season at the nature park area. Washroom ✅ mostly clean but only two. Dog friendly trails ✅ Parking ✅ limited

This is a very family friendly, quiet lake to go to. Many people go fishing here or take their small, non motorized boats out for a float on a sunny day. There are public washrooms and garbage cans around which I found convenient. Usually the parking lot isn't full either. So if you're a driver, it's pretty hassle free. The edges of the lake are full of beautiful lilly pads flowering. And lots of dragon flies too.

Very good lake with great trails. Many scene points and nature trail. Walking around the lake in loop will take awhile. Some bike riders and runners, many come for light walking. Plenty of parking’s around, also nice for kayaking.

I only wish there was a little more parking but otherwise, it's a great walking route around the park with many birds. There's a nice viewing platform as well over the lake to get a better sight of the place.

It’s a very good place for 10km walk, But I suggest people should not drink too much water, because there’s not enough toilet around the lake, altogether there’s only 2 public toilets in around the lake .

Good place for walk. Peaceful. Great for walk alone or couple. Skytrain is next to the park.

The is the most boring walk I have ever gone on in my life. A full circuit of the lake, 3 hours of my precious time wasted, gone forever, never to return. I don’t know, maybe it was the company, maybe it was the weather. Or maybe this just really is a dull as dishwater trail. Plus I was hungry, so that didn’t help either. I brought my camera with me and couldn’t even bring myself to take one shot. Gray, everything was gray and boring. If I ever go back, and I absolutely won’t, but if I do, which I won’t, I’ll bring a rake of cans and just go through them for a short cut to help eradicate the tedium.

There's water in the lake. The water is indeed moist and sometimes wet. The birds here don't fly, they just float on water. Silly birds. However, it is very easy to not get wet thanks to the boardwalks. Lovely place.

The lake is so beautiful and attractive. There were a lot of different species of birds and goose which mad the nature so nice. The walking trail was good. The only thing that I’m wondering there wasn’t any proper place to have pick-nick and just a couple bench beside the washroom. Anyway, it is a really nice lake.

This is a great park with many ppl running or enjoying water sport, not many ppl walking dogs. It is 10.3km for running around the lake. It is a nice flat run. However, it is not that close to the lake so you don't keep seeing the lake, but there are some points you can go out to enjoy the lake. There are many birds and hare around.

The rowing facilities are nice enough and I suppose it's fairly good for an urban lake, but the water is literally brown, seriously muddy and smells strongly of creosote around the rowing clubhouse. Definitely not a place I would feel safe swimming.

Several parking lots and entrances. Basically an 11km trail around the lake with some boardwalk sections. A couple small side trails, few benches, no real picnic area. Bikes and horses are not allowed on much of the trail system. A few places to fish, a bird watching area, fish ladder, and turtle nesting area. Mostly paths through the woods with a few viewpoints looking out to the lake.

Whenever I tell my kids we are going to Burnaby Lake, they're always excited and can't wait to feed the mallard ducks, birds, geese, and friendly squirrels.

This is one of the nicest urban parks in Metro Vancouver, especially if you are a birdwatcher. Walking the loop around the lake is nice, but it's 11km, so expect it to take a couple of hours.

Incredible rain or shine, tons of wild ducks and other birds. Tons of the greater Vancouver crows go to roost each night before dispersing over the city and surrounding municipalities.

  • 4/5 Jenessa 5 years ago on Google
Long secluded loop, good for long runs, trails could be marked more clearly. Close to the highway along some portions of the trail, otherwise a nice mini escape within the city.

Park itself is quite nice although a little boggy/muddy in places. However, park employees have repeatedly given me a hard time about walking my dog and have a penchant for making up rules. I have resorted to having the park bylaws and emails from city employees on my phone so I can prove I am within the rules, it doesn’t help. In short if you want to walk your dog or do anything other than simply walking around, go to John Hendry park instead.

The 10k trail is packed gravel. It is well maintained by park staff. Look out for the occasional bear near the summer and wild cat.

Great walk. Just a tip: turn down the anti loitering device by the tennis courts (you may or may not hear it well, but either way teenagers can hear it half way across the lake).

The lake loop was wayyy longer than I expected - around 14 km in total! I was not in my running shoes but ended up running - the trail wasn’t close to the lake but still had amazing views along the way. Anyways I enjoyed it very much on a Saturday

  • 3/5 Grace Y. 2 years ago on Google
I’ve had some nice hikes here. One time I even came across a bear and her cubs. The trails are pretty, but don’t come here in the evenings; they are filled with mosquitos. My boyfriend and I walked here for 25 minutes and we ended up with over 10 mosquito bites between us. The mosquitos will follow you and cling onto your leg while you walk. We ran back the whole way while slapping our legs!

Meh, really noisy from the highway and not a lot of lake views. Mostly just scrub. Ducks are fun to feed but that really is it. More of a good place to walk your dog as it is long enough for the exercise.
