It’s one of the best lake (in the city) for jogging activities around Burnaby, it has nicely laid out trails around the lake and through many trees, which makes us feel refreshed. There’s a boat rental for kayaking or you can bring your own. It has huge parking space but can seem small during peak seasons. The trails are a great place to walk your pets (leased, NEVER take them on wire nettings, only on the road/cemented trails as wire might hurt their paw nails), there’s no danger of wild animals only sightings of birds (inland and water).

Beautiful lake to boat on! We went on one the peak days of the summer, and booked a two person pedal boat for 1.5 hours. Pedaling out from the shore was easy, but pedaling back was quote a workout. Lots of geese swimming about, Lilly pads, and other boaters. Definitely coming back here again to rent out another pedal boat.

What a large beautiful lake in Burnaby. Also, it's a good place to have fun or relax with kid, family, or having a picnic, cycling, water activities and seeing the sunset here. There's couple of path to walk along the lake with beautiful city view. Highly recommended to visit this place. Parking available on site.

Great destination for an easy afternoon walk/hike. The loop trail around the lake is 2.7 kilometres (according to signage). Mostly level trails, boardwalks, and paths with a mix of cycling-shared walkways. As usual, the City of Burnaby does a good job of maintaining the park. Enjoy all year round!

Beautiful lake in a nice neighbourhood, with amazing trails and walking paths, and looots of birds :) The area was crowded with families picnicking, and there were different kinds of boats for rent at reasonable prices.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful lake, with lake views, large green areas, large lawns, art galleries, etc., spring and summer and autumn and winter tours have different scenery. (Original) 十分漂亮的湖泊,有湖景,大綠地大草坪,美術館等,春夏與秋冬遊賞風光各有不同。

A beautiful area to visit anytime. It's not only a lake. When you walk along the nicely flat broadwalk, the trail will lead you to the Shadbolt Centre for the Art, Burnaby Art Gallery, a big lawn and a big garden. The parking is a problem if you come in summer days.

Intricate system of nature Tralee that don’t leave you bored nor overwhelmed. Lots of connects to the urban and suburban areas around the park. Wear shoes though, there is a lot of Goose Poop!

(Translated by Google) It is a good place to go in autumn. Nearby are Burnaby museums, parks and galleries. The bus stop is nearby so accessibility is good. When it comes to autumn, the opposite scenery is beautiful in the lake. Especially here the birds are like heaven. Goose, Thunder Duck, Dove, Gull? They are swarming. ^^ ;; There are many trees around, and you can walk around the lake and it is a good place to take a walk.

One of my favorite places in Burnaby. I loved going there just to relax. The view, nature everything was amazing. The trail was built nicely. My biggest regret was discovering it very late and not being able to spend more time & take more pictures there. If I go back to canada, here will be one of my first destinations to visit again.

Nice local spot to spend an afternoon. I’ve been kayaking and fishing here a few times. Caught a few Bass and lots of Pumpkinseed fish, all pretty small. There’s been a good amount of other people on the water when I’ve been there but not too crowded.

There are common gigantic Rainbow Trout but finicky Bass. This is an amazing place for kids as it is very common for a trout to hammer a lure in Deer Lake. There aren't many places to fish on land and sang are very common inshore but if you take a kayak, you'll probably catch a dozen fish while your at it. I would recommend catching crawfish as you can use them for bait which is ideal to catch Bass ( Mostly Largemouth's though ) , you could also eat them as they have a very crispy and tender meat. I would also recommend bring a lot of lures because there are weeds , rocks, logs , etc , so you will get hung up like a million times. You could also use Snagless Frogs and Caroliina or Texas Rig your Soft Plastic's. I lost about 6 Rooster Tails, 6 Bluegill Crank baits , and 18 Mepp's Bucktails because of them in Deer Lake and when you got a bite, fish will do every thing like tangle up your line on a rock, overpower your line until it snaps so make sure you got proper gear.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG ONTO THE TRAIL WITH WIRE NETTING THING! MY DOG'S NAIL GOT PULLED OUT BY THE WIRE AND WAS BLEEDING QUITE BADLY. TOOK HIM TO EMERGENCY LAST NIGHT AND WOULD NEVER TAKE HIM BACK AGAIN. THERE SHOULD BE A SIGN WARNING ALL THE DOG OWNERS!
