I've been to this clinic 5 times. I saw Dr. Minh Hien Nguyen once - he was nice but I was looking for a female doctor, so I requested Dr. Jo Ling Foo. I had concerns that I was hoping she would help me feel more comfortable with my situation but instead she made me feel uncomfortable with going to the clinic. She was quite rude the first time I saw her and my partner even noticed, but I brushed it off because I wanted to get to the bottom of my problem. I went back again on my own to discuss two separate issues. The first issues took about 7 minutes to discuss. I found her rushing me out the door after so I asked her about my other issue. She told me only one issue at a time and that I would have to book another appointment. She also said that she didn't want to rush things. I thought that was fair so I booked another appoinyment. That appointment took all of 5 minutes from start to finish. She talked really fast, and rushed me out the door again. This mostly bothered me because she told me last time that she didn't want to rush things. She was also quite dismissive and kept telling me that I'm too young for certain procedures without taking the time to explain why. My final appointment was the worst. I was back to discuss my results. She read off of the lab results that she received. There was a bunch of medical jargon in it so I asked her what that all meant. She responded with serious attitude. I was fed up at this point so I asked her why she was giving me attitude. She replied by telling me that she's giving me attitude because I'm asking her questions! Um..excuse me but isn't that the point of going to a physician?? - is what I said to her. Dr. Jo Ling Foo actually responded by telling me that she's a physician and that I should just accept what she's telling me. I explained that I don't understand what she's telling me and that I needed clarification. Bottom line - I ended up taking my files and walking out of that clinic feeling completely uncomfortable and in complete disbelief that this is what our medical system has come down to. Our doctors just want us to eat up what we're told without understanding what it actually means. I know this about most doctors but this one has by far been the worst because she actually gave me attitude and told me not to ask too many questions! Ridiculous. I would not recommend that anyone go here. Or if you do, make sure you don't see Dr. Jo Ling Foo.

The female doctor I spoke with should find a different profession because she clearly doesn't care about the well-being of patients who visit this clinic. I came in to have a prescription, which I've taken for several years with no issues, renewed, but the doctor (who I'd never seen before) refused to renew it for me unless I agreed to have an invasive physical examination right then and there. When I explained I was uncomfortable and didn't want a total stranger doing that kind of exam on me (I have my own GP for that) and that I'd been taking these pills without any previous issues, she got incredibly defensive and REFUSED to renew my prescription. I had to go to a different clinic. Waste of time and left me feeling horrified and disgusted. I will never return to this clinic, even for a different doctor.

Dr. Foo is our doctor and I trust her with our lives. I read many reviews on here calling the doctors horrible however doctors are like shoes. When picking a shoe you have to determine what type of activity and lifestyle you have and pick a doctor that fits. Sometimes itโ€™s like wearing golf shoes when you need tap dancing shoes. Itโ€™s tough in Vancouver to find A doctor and I know when you have an opportunity to get one you pounce on it. I would say you can try a doctor and get to know them. I gotten to know Dr. Foo to know her style will fit my style. Good luck to you all it could be worse like our neighbours down south.

I had no idea why the ratings had been so low. Dr Foo was thorough and meticulous. As with any good walk-in physician not knowing the patient's complete history, she was risk-averse and conservative, but she seemed to be making all the right decisions within that framework. I didn't encounter any difficulty with the receptionist either. On a Saturday afternoon there was almost no waiting. With nothing to complain but everything going smoothly, I am left with no choice but to give the highest rating.

Iโ€™m giving only 1 star because of the receptionists rudeness and lack of care for patients! They hung up twice, ( even tells you is going to do it just before actually does it in the middle of you speaking to them) disregarding the need for a patient to be seen. Have been trying to see the doctor for a week and a half for follow up care needed after already been at the ER, so much for having a family doctor! They donโ€™t care about your present health situation and just give appointments weeks ahead regardless if you need to be seen at the moment. ( even if itโ€™s all booked up there, there should at least show they care about your medical situation at present, show some humanity!) Absolute carelessness and rude. Extremely poor communication skills! Doesnโ€™t belong in an environment where you need to interact with others. Terrible place! I highly suggest everyone else thatโ€™s looking for a family doctor, go somewhere else where theyโ€™ll care about you, the patient!

Extremely rude, doctors are never taking new patients and when they finally let you in for an appointment you barely get a full 60 seconds with them before they kick you out. Arrogant and terrible.

Doctors are great, but receptionists could bo a better job with their communication skills and thus my low rating.Questions asked to the receptionist are not answered clearly, especially during this Covid period.I had scheduled a visit to see my Dr. Only to physically show up and be told it will be over the phone. This was not communicated by the front desk and was a big inconvenience. In another follow-up call the assistant claimed to have answered my question, but i had to repeat it three times.Whereas the doctors are stellar, the front desk could do with a communications brush-up.

Here receptionist was so terrible. They can only accept limited patients like 15 ,even thought patients are really painful because of illness. Only 2-3people left and time was 4pm. They are going to finish at 5pm. To be honest, this time was indeed enough that doctors see all patients. However, the receptionist said she needs doctors to go home at 5 pm(exactly right time),so i was not able to see a doctor. They are horrible and they do not think about patients at all. I was sweating because of my fever. The receptionist could see for sure thought, she does not care about patients at all.

Dr Foo is who I mainly see . She helped save my life . I had skin cancer on my head and she is one of the 3 doctors that helped save my life . She noticed something wasn't right and I'm so glad I saw her that day .

The reception staff are lovely, the doctors horrible, the patient is definitely not part of the equation, they don't listen to you at all! They are loath to refer you for tests (is there some quota they adhere too?); my layman's hypothesis has been proved correct to date (tests elsewhere) but they're sticking to their guns. Dr. Serena Jo Ling Foo, merciless!

Had a horrible experience with doctor shaw. Extremely careless and a liar. First day told him had pain in my left hand then went and got an xray on both hands. He told me will call me back within couple days if theres something wrong. 1.5 weeks later I get a call to go see him. I went to go see him he was 40minutes late then he says I dont have your left hand xray! Says he's going to ask the xray place for it then send it to another doc and within 2 weeks will get a call. 2 weeks later I call back and they say you got to get your xray! Very sad and poor service. Avoid doctor Shaw if you can until he gets it together and starts doing his job to help people and not just fill up his wallet.

Made an appointment, waited 10 mins and was out in 10 mins, I think this was the quickest experience I had at a drop in clinic or at a family doctor. Dr. Foo was very professional and friendly but quick and to the point, solved my consultation. Very good. ** An updated review, I noticed some clients walking in and are frustrated not to get immediate service, I think that's why there are allot of low ratings. My advice is to call in to see if you can make an appointment for first, that will definitely shorten the wait time. **

Dr. Brian Ng doesn't seem to want to do anything. On my first visit he told me I just had tendonitis in my wrist but that he would refer me to a specialist "if I wanted". After visits to the specialist and a referral for an MRI it turns out I had a torn scapho-lunate ligament and a torn triangular fibrocartiledge complex (TFCC). On a second visit he reluctantly referred me for a blood test. Then his clinic didn't call me back with my test results "because it was all normal". You'd think they could at least call me back and help put my mind at ease. The only reason I went there was due to convenience. At least they are punctual.

Walked in, didn't have an appointment but still made room for me. The doctor was good and seemed to be interested in what I had to say. I don't know why people hate this place so much. The secretary is also very accommodating and nice.

I just went there today, and the doctors are horrible they make u wait for a LONG time and then leave you very quickly WITHOUT giving me any medcine keep telling me i am all okay, which i am not, i then went to another walkin clinic and the doctor soon issued me prescriptions for drugs within the first 5 minutes of describing my symptoms. I donno why, but i think coming to this clinic is totally a run of your LUCK. i think if they don't like u, they will waste ur time, and mak you really angry and disappointed, i think i will soon SUE these horrible doctors and this clinic with EVIDENCE. go try somewhere else.

If you need urgent attention GO TO THE ER, NOT THE CLINICS. So far walk in's are what you get as a walk in patient. Staff is just very busy, so just tell them your full name and what you need so they can book you. For fast appointments: Make sure you are free the whole day (of a weekday). Call on the day and ask for any cancelations within THE DAY. Most likely someone cancelled their appointment on the day. Update: 2018 Eczema on my body, they gave me a stronger one. Then another Dr told me that it's too strong actually. So then got me ointments and medz but still VERY BAD! redness, itchy and flakes. Within 2 weeks my eczema did not go away but even spread and felt burning and my skin was basically thin and red. Eczema is still there on the same spot after 2-3months with expensive medications they told me to get. Finally told me to go to a dermatologist. Update: 2019 Eczema on my face. I asked for a referral for the same dermatologist. They decide to give me ointments again and medz. Sigh. I don't trust them anymore that's why I need to go to a dermatologist. Instead they want to play dermatologist??? Eczema is easy to treat but I just don't have experience so I would rather go to a dermatologist and not a general Dr. but they are not giving me a referral when I asked? So I wasted my time going to the clinic? WHY? I asked for a referral not a medication. :((((( Why don't you guys listen to the patient's needs? I don't want to get treated here for my eczema, you can treat me for anything else.

My parents, who were former patients, haven't visited in the last 3+ years and are automatically removed from the register. This condition was not communicated to patients upon registration, nor was I reminded before 3 years period. When I inquired about re-enrolling a former patient, reception deflect us to seek assistance elsewhere, and don't come in here or try to make appointments, but to simply go away and look else where. My parents are elderly and simply forgot to attend their annual check-ups. I work and study at a university in another province, so it is partly my fault for not returning to Vancouver frequently enough. While I understand that the BC government struggles with training more doctors and there's a shortage, this cold response and redirection are unacceptable. Does every other clinic in BC operate in the same level of patient care?

I would like to sincerely thank the supportive front desk staff and my doctor at Metrohealth. I donโ€™t want to mention his name or else everyone would want to see him and thus he will be too occupied to see me lol. Heโ€™s the kindest and most patient doctor I have ever met, I bet all of his patients felt the same too. The world is a better place because of him. Thank you Doctor XXXX!!! P.s. this clinic does not deserve the poor ratings theyโ€™re current receiving. Iโ€™ve seen much worse staff and doctors.

I had two separate serious problems which were treated here. Both of them got to the surgery because they didn't do anything in time or they didn't take my symptoms seriously. This place only good for fast antibiotics prescription, but they are really good at that indeed.

Dr. Nguyen is kind and soft-spoken. He has been with us for more than a decade. He always listens to our concerns. He answers our questions whenever we raise them. He is prompt in updating and informing us about significant results from medical tests. I think what warms my heart is that he always asks how my parents are doing. When my parents come in, he always asks how I am doing. Thank you, Dr. Nguyen, and the front area staff!

Went there at 4:15 and they told me they aren't open for walk ins until 4:45 so i'm like okay my bad i didn't know i'll come back and I called them before I was going to come in a second time and they said just come in before 7:30 so i got there at 7:15 and they said they were full when they only had 1 person waiting. Honestly it's a very strong 4 star. I would not give more then that because of the waiting time. If I have an appointment for 4:20 pm i expect to talk with doctor few minutes later, but 45 minutes delay, it's too much. The receptionists crew is really friendly. My doctor was really nice too. I didn't see any other issues, except time of waiting.
