Under normal conditions, I would not leave a review. However, the circumstances at Petsmart were so abhorrent that I feel the need to warn consumers. The treatment of the fish is very simply, inexcusable, and the standard of care fails to meet any humane criteria. In many of the tanks, particularly the smaller species such as guppies and tetras, bodies were littering the gravel floor, decorating the waters surface. They were in there for so long, a milky surface had formed on the surface, and white mold surrounded them. Some bodies simply decomposed, the skeleton visible. In the aquatic fauna section, the leaves that remained either were yellowed and melting away. Some had tiny white dots, a possible sign of disease? There was only one row that was healthy. I am both horrified and disappointed by Petsmart’s treatment of their animals and encourage other buyers to think twice before supporting a business which does not prioritize the wellbeing of animals.

After one hour with the groomer, I received a phone call telling me that they did not have the right equipment to finish the job and did not feel comfortable going forward with my dogs haircut. I understand that he was quite matted and that it wasn’t going to be an easy cut. We discussed this beforehand and I asked if he was going to be ok. The groomer checked him out and seemed confident enough. I would have preferred for her to tell me maybe look elsewhere before I handed him over. Instead I was told to book an appointment with a vet or another groomer so they could safely finish my poor boys half trimmed body. I was a little bit in shock as I carried him out to my car with big patches of hair falling off of him. There was no clean up or anything. They just stopped shaving halfway through and essentially gave up. The hard part now is finding a last minute place to take him in fix the mess I was left with. I did enjoy coming here in the past to get my dogs nails trimmed. But after todays grooming experience, I will not be heading back.

Horrible. They treat their employees like they are worthless, that they are less then human. The upper management is especially bad, yelling at their employees in front of customers when their employees have done nothing wrong. They've talk down to their employees, they always believe that their employees are the one's that messed up without getting the whole story first. I've watched so many good employees quit because of the upper management. Over 15 employees have left just within the last year. I hope that they found a better place to work at because this place doesn't deserve the amazing employees that have walked through those doors.

Traveling with my friend Jasmine A. who needed a few things for her furry friend. We stopped in here and after some browsing, found what we wanted. The selection is good and the store is very well stocked with a variety of merchandise in different brands and flavors for cats and dogs and such. A helpful associate even stopped by and asked if we needed any help. Prices seem a little high but you're paying for convenience and instant access to your stuff. If you can wait and have it shipped, you might save some money.

Amazing and a friendly bunch of grooming staff. Brought in my 15 month old Samoyed for a full grooming the 1st time and he looked and smelled fabulous! I've been back a 2nd time already. Great job! Thank you

Booked my dog in for training class since the one we usually go to was fully booked. Didn't really expect too much from it since most reviews about their classes aren't that great, but I was pleasantly surprised at how great the trainor was. Our dog trainor was Irene and she was so pleasant to work with. She was always willing to answer our questions, give different suggestions and really cared about making sure we understood every topic and assisted us whenever we were struggling to do certain exercises with our dog. Overall a really great experience taking the class with her!

This is the best pet smart location in the lower mainland, because of the staff! They know their stuff and always have time to exchange their wisdom and information. There's a few staff there that I'm so grateful for because pet smart as a whole doesn't take super good care of their small animals , fish/reptiles, but the staff care! Shout out to one, Sophie and Tess! Thanks for taking good care of them babies!😘 Edit: pic is my beardie that I didn't get from PetSmart, wouldn't recommend getting dragons from there.

Was sold a used fish tank for 80 bucks as new. Filter was dirty. I feel ripped off and mislead. You shouldn't sell used fish tanks unless you tell your customer first.

Super friendly staff at this location. Never had an issue. Their grooming services are usually very booked up, so I’d recommend trying to book a couple weeks in advance

The staff are usually pretty friendly but it's definitely hit or miss. I shop for my fishies and almost always have to shop at multiple locations to get everything I want/need. The tanks here always have dead fish in them which is not common at other locations. Prices for aquatic stuff is alright but would love to save a few bucks (who wouldn't)

Hands down my doggie has one of the best groomers ( Suzanne) in the area! My furbaby has very high anxiety and she knows exactly what to do with him. She has this calming factor with him. I wouldn't bring him anywhere else! I would like to add, all groomers are extremely good! But since my dog is high matienence, he needs to be with the same person. If I had it my way, I would take him to anyone there!

The staff is amazing and so so sweet! I bring my dog Milo here every month for a groom and his groomer Aline is the SWEETEST. I used to take him all the way to Vancouver until I read great reviews on Aline and decided to try this location out as it is much closer to my house. Each time I pick Milo up, the staff is super warm and welcoming. Aline does such a great job and I have no complaints. One time I got confused about his appointment time (thought it was later) and she was super sweet and understanding through it all. Can't recommend her and this location enough.

Convenient place. A bit different to park but with a little patience you will find a spot. Nice employees. Some discounts for aquarium stuff are pretty good but you have to take chances.

Sweetest staff, today I was struggling to pick up a kitty litter and this bearded buff staff member with the biggest smile on his face offered me a cart and lifted the 40lb litter with one arm like it was nothing! and put it In a cart he brought me. It was the first time anyone in any store has done that for me. Amazing job petsmart! Glad to be shopping here.

Seems like this place is going downhill based on some of the recent reviews and looks like after today I’ll be jumping ship too. Been going here just under 3 years for my dogs haircut and this week has been an absolute nightmare to deal with them. Been going to the same stylist my whole time using this salon. Name was changed online. Not a big deal. Just had to call in and confirm they still work there. Waited on hold for awhile but finally got thru. Booked my appointment for Sunday. To receive a call Saturday asking where I am. I had already planned my weekend accordingly. but now had to adapt my Sunday to reschedule their mistake.again not the end of the world. Then when I went to pick up my dog. To discover the usual stylist did not do the cut. Why after 3 years and specifically asking for her everytime would it be okay to switch stylists. I received a bill much higher than usual as they tacked on some extra package. I made no fuss. Just paid it. Then the horror I go back to see them bring out my dog ! Face, ears untrimmed and still dirty. Uneven/choppy spots Still smells Just not happy at all with the whole experience. Then when I asked about booking to trim his face after just paying almost $100 for something that should have been done in the first place and only $66 I was told it would be at extra cost to trim his face. Too bad was a really great experience up until this point Paid over %100 of the money. But only got %60 of the services

Great job!! I really enjoyed the training experience at Pet Smart. Marianna was a wonder Trainer, very patient, understanding and right in cue with correcting the dogs and giving suggestions. I was sad to hear she was moving out of province. Overall it was a great experience and I have gained confidence in teaching our dog. Overall it was a great experience, great value and I definitely recommend

I can responsibly say I've had many pleasant experiences at this store but definitely not today. When I took my dog in for grooming I showed proof of vaccines as I did last time and then two of the staff actually said that my vaccine certificate was invalid. The funny thing is that with this certificate I was able to book my dog in for a training session as well as all the previous grooming services. It's hard not to suspect that they are reducing their workload in this way. The staff have always been friendly and caring perhaps this store is starting to lower their standards. Maybe they shouldn't be called petsmart but staff smart because it's obvious they are missing some smart staff.

Nice staff/associates there. Clean and well organized aisles. You can found almost all the things you needed for your pet.

Helpful staff and organized shelves. Reasonable prices. Playing the game on the app, you can earn 10%, 15%, and 20% off coupons on one item, which can be stacked with other promotions. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Aline did an amazing hair cut and nail trim on my little fur baby. 100% recommend her!

Came here with my cocker spaniel for a few grooming appointments. Once for a wash with Matthew, once for a trim with Jade and two days ago for a sanitary trim with Julie. (A sanitary trim that I had to get after getting my puppy groomed somewhere else - not petsmart - where they failed to do this, leaving mats and leaving me needing to bring him somewhere else.) I have been nothing but happy with the professionalism and detail of work shown by both Jade and Julie. I regrettably took him somewhere else for his last groom, a mistake which I will not be making again. I will be back to Petsmart for his next full groom before we move cities. Thank you!

WORST petsmart ever. I went to go buy backup supplies for my hamsters and already had an enclosure at home mind you, but I wanted to get these three little robo hamsters that had already been housed together so I wanted to adopt them into my life and I had been carrying the extra cage, and they denied us service. This red haired teenager who was training some lady denied us service with a terribly rude voice, remarks and demeanour. She was unbelievably harsh and rude and rolled her eyes at me as well. Despite me telling her I had the proper home for the little guys at home she still DENIED us. She should be fired for denying purchase. We asked nicely and tried telling her we had the enclosure already but she still had a sharp tongue and told us no multiple times. I’m surprised she still works there and I hope she gets fired. I will be going back to report her to the manager. I do NOT recommend shopping at this location.

Multiple casualties spotted in the aquarium. There's a lot of pet supplies, and it would really be a solid 4/5, but I just can't with the fish. :(( I hope they receive better care :CC

Decent PetSmart, but stock seems always a little worse than the Grandview location (Bentall), the parking here is absolutely terrible if you're only going to PetSmart and not into the mall. I've also noticed that a lot of things on sale at the Bentall location isn't on sale at the same time at this location, if you can, I'd recommend going to the Bentall store.

It's a smaller location & has been out of stock of the rat food a few times I've been in, and they can't stock as much as larger locations, but it's clean and otherwise well organized, staff are friendly. I wish the Bettas had a better set up. They seem so listless :( I've seen good set-ups for them at other pet stores so I know it can be done. Would love if corporate did something for them. Can't blame the staff when they're not provided with equipment, though.

Great customer service, Sophie was an amazing help with advice and suggestions on what kind of a terrarium to purchase, how to decorate it and keep the eco system habitable. Sophie was very busy running the store while short staffed although they still found the time to go through everything with me in detail and help me pick out the best items. Whatever you are paying them, it's not enough, give them a raise.
