** They sacked the two rude part time employees. Better now. Chang of review as there’s a Change of Ownership !! I was sad that the past owners are gone and I’m disappointed in the new management. we visited twice since its change and the person at the counter downright ignored us when we wanted to pay for our goods and just walked away 😑. So rude when we were asking her a question and left us standing there mind boggled why she just left and no one’s there for us to make payment. No friendly greeting like the previous owners where they would welcome us and interact with our dog for a sample treat. We have literally been coming here pretty much every weekend to buy food / treats and etc for 3 years + ever since we moved to this area. There are so many loyal customers who come to this store to support local businesses including our neighbour alone. We spoil our dogs and have been to many many pet supplies stores, and never been to one where the employees or the owners don’t engage. Or care about the membership as it would show how often one comes by to spend. Like the other reviewer pricing has increased, comparable to Yaletown boutique shops like Bones Pets where we used to live. This is understandable being a small business but at least even at Bones employees are friendly and informative about products and dogs in general.

Went in here to buy a couple of small items for our cats. The store is well laid out enough, and the staff are pleasant, but I was shocked as to how expensively certain items were priced. I understand this is a local business, and I'm willing to pay a premium to support smaller businesses, but charging almost twice the amount for certain toys and other items (we checked competitors) is borderline predatory. I was quite disappointed after my shopping experience.

i had a fantastic shopping experience. the owner was super nice and knowledgeable. He asked specific questions such as my dog's preferences, allergies etc to find food. Plus, my shy mini poodle seemed to like this place a lot.

Seems like there was a change of ownership recently but even better service and selections. They even offered me a free can of cat food when they ran out of stock on my usual selection. The big dog the owner brings in occasionally is a must-see. They seem to know a lot about both cats and dogs as they own both of them (unusual!). I highly recommend this place over bigger chains if you are looking for a small family-run pet shop with large selections and friendly service!

Where I buy my cat food and litter. And sometimes toys or treats. Great selection of healthy options. Very friendly staff who share a lot of knowledge when asked, and provide great customer service.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. They carry many Canadian and local brands, and often provide free samples. Great neighbourhood pet store.

The staff here are so wonderful, they're practically my friends at this point because I keep going back purely because of their customer service. They helped me find a food my allergy cat can eat as she was going on hunger strike from the vet food. My cat is limited to a fish diet and she also can't have whitefish nor salmon. Well, this was not a problem! They showed me foods she can eat and kept ordering in new flavours (feels like special just for me, lol). It's a small store but it has everything I need and it's right next to a vet. There is ALWAYS fresh cat grass, even grass shoots if you ask. Pets are welcome--I'd even say encouraged haha! The toys rotate which is super nice to have fresh, new toys for kitty's mental health. They also have the good harnesses (RC pets brand) that are hard for cats to escape from, just perfect! And actual Churu brand churus, not the delectibles or squeeze up's, but the actual good stuff, and in multiple flavours AND hairball control! And the tunes are great, too :D PS, Beddy says, "more treats, meow!"

Always a pleasure picking up our dog's food from these folks - our dog has very specific allergies and does very well on a brand we can only find here. The staff are always friendly and helpful and we would recommend them for all your pets needs.

We have been frequenting this delightful neighbourhood pet store for a few years now. While we were surprised to see a recent change in ownership, the transition was seamless in terms of friendliness, services and knowledge of products and pet care. We have always been kindly greeted upon entry of the store and any questions have been promptly answered. When a product is unavailable, staff will happily order it if possible. Quite often, samples are offered for our finicky dog in an effort to try to get him to try something new. With competitive pricing and friendly and helpful staff, we will continue supporting a local business. Keep it up, Tailstopia!

The lady who arranged the shelves keeps making very loud bang bang noise which scared my dog. My dog is afraid to be in the store. This used to be her favorite place. As store employee, you should understand animals are super sensitive to sound, you should proceed with caution when animals are still in the store. These two ladies are totally lack of knowlege of "Fear Free" Protocols for animals. I would not enter the store with my dog if I see these two ladies again. As an employee, you are lack of training. They work on Friday May 20th. Poor customer service.

They’ve got some interesting things for cats that’s not as available elsewhere like the newer versions of the rc pets harness for cats! Parking is also very easy to find which is great

They've really packed a lot into a small space. Service is excellent, and prices are average.
