👍 To be honest, I really miss the old BingSu that used to be here. But Basak is a pleasant surprise too. Their waffles with cream is very refreshing. A bit heavy but it's worth a try! Their ice cream one is even lighter and is very fun to eat. They even have Korean corn dogs!! The staff there, Ellie... Monthly outing with my friend and we picked this place for its delicious desserts! They did not disappoint. We got two "half and half" chubby waffles and shared them both to try out all the flavours we could. The waffles were cooked to perfection. The strawberry flavouring was definitely number one for both. The Lavender Earl Grey and chocolate cookie was tied for second place. Their yogurt beverage was also quite tasty and prices were fairly reasonable. Would definitely come back to try their other flavours.

EDITED TO ADD SECOND REVIEW: I returned upon kind invitation of the owner as my first experience was not what I had hoped. I tried the Earl Grey lavender waffle again and this time the flavor was exactly what I hoped for and delicious! You get a great taste of earl grey and it is balanced perfectly with the waffle. We also tried the basak sausage and mozzarella corn dog. WOW. My husband and I have both been to Korea and love the street food -- Basak has brought Korea to us as the food tastes just as great! Will definitely return for more. I also tried their pineapple fizzy juice and it was incredible and refreshing with the corn dogs. Highly recommend ordering one! The owner and staff are very kind and professional. Had a great experience. Initial review: Waffle: Ordered the lavender Earl Grey and strawberry creme. The waffle itself was tasty but the filling lacked flavor and I didn't get any hint of lavender or earl grey. I felt like it needed a drizzle of something sweet as it was super bland in my opinion and these aren't cheap! Presentation is beautiful tho ❤️ Coffee: ordered an Americano misto with oat milk and the oat milk was curdled with no foam. The espresso flavor itself was good. The cafe itself is adorable, and decorated so cute!! Also the staff are so kind and sweet!! Thank you for the kind service.

The prices are quite expensive and the taste/aesthetics isn't outstanding but it's worth coming. The interior design is BEAUTIFUL.

First time here. I've been wanting to try rice corn dogs for a while, and found this place. They did not disappoint. I got half cheese/half sausage with potato. The cheese was nice and melty and the sausage kept the whole thing on the stick and was a nice change halfway through the corn dog. Definitely had a bit more structural integrity than my friends' which was all cheese and started to slide off the stick halfway through. IMO half n half is the way to go. Delicious with the sauces as well. The lavender earl grey waffle was pretty good, not as good as the corn dog for me but I still enjoyed it. The waffle was crispy and the cream was soft and fluffy and subtly flavoured. Not too sweet either. I will definitely be coming back to try more things!

Taste 5/5 Service 5/5 Price 5/5 Environment 5/5 I tried the corn dogs, a waffle, and a yogurt drink, and it was all delicious. The service was very helpful, kind and welcoming. The pricing was reasonable and worth it. The restaurant seating area is very clean and if you like taking pictures the restaurant is very aesthetic. The one thing you need to know is that the parking lot is always full but there is underground parking.

A solid spot for dessert and catching up with friends! I love that you order a half and half flavour for the waffles to try two flavours! I recommend the Matcha and Red Bean flavour. I believe our waffle was about $9. The waffle was light and tasty, they’re primarily known for sweets but also serve other things such as Korean corndogs. The interior is very cute and intimate. They share a parking lot with House of Tofu Soup but apparently have underground parking availability as well.

Such a cute cafe. The waffle was crispy and not overly sweet. I enjoyed the earl grey and strawberry flavours more than the matcha (very faint). I’ll be back to try more flavours and their Korean corn dogs 😋

Got the strawberry and mango waffles and enjoyed both flavors. The waffles themselves tasted great and were cooked perfectly. The strawberry cream they used was also good. The mango ice cream seemed to be your run of the mill store bought kind, which is okay with me, we still enjoyed it. The dalgona iced latte was good although not sure I'd order it again. I'd probably try a regular iced latte next time.

Overall Recommendation ★★★★★ What a lovely place!❤️ Basic ● Taste ★★★★★ ● Price ★★★★★ ● Kindness ★★★★★ ● Comfort ★★★★★ ● Cleanliness ★★★★★ Comment: I've heard about Basak cafe millions of times from locals, not Koreans. I had half-half corn dog. This Rice corndog was very crispy crispy, hot and delicious. You should watch mozzarella cheese stretch out! I've tried almost all Korean hotdogs in Metro Vancouver, but here is definitely the best Also Dalgona coffee was really sweet! The parking lot is not big, but free parking is available. Unfortunately, washroom is not divided into men and women. I think this place is good for children. I checked that here uses good ingredients and is strictly managed. Additional things ◎ Convenience of public transportation: ★★★★★ ◎ Seating Availability: ★★★★★

Their waffles are absolutely delicious. Let me share my experience: For the food, we decided to go for their cream-filled waffle, and what's great is that you can choose two flavors for the filling. We got half strawberries and half Oreo cream filling, and a mango ice cream waffle. The first bite was a delightful explosion of flavors. The waffle itself was spot on, with the perfect crispiness that made each bite satisfying. It was well balanced and light treat For the atmosphere - the cafe has a wonderful interior, creating a cozy and inviting space to enjoy your food while having a pleasant conversation. Ahh Now the customer service experience left something to be desired. Although the staff didn't come across as rude, they didn't extend a warm welcome or ask if we needed any assistance (which we needed as it’s our first visit), and we noticed they were more attentive and friendly towards other customers, which made us feel somewhat overlooked. Overall, the waffles are a true treat for the taste buds, and I hope they take constructive feedback about their service to heart. It's important that every customer receives the same level of welcoming and friendly assistance without discrimination.

The aesthetics for this small cafe are very cute and bright. The food menu is a spectrum of sweets or savory waffles and fried corn dogs/cheese The drinks menu is a very Asian infusion, which compliments the food selection. My only feedback is the milk steamed to lukewarm temperatures, and the car parking is slightly challenging due to tight it is when in full capacity.

This is a super cozy and cute cafe! Immediately upon walking in I loved the vibes of this place. We ordered a half and half earl grey lavender and matcha red bean chubby waffle and a half mozzarella/hot dog Korean corn dog with potato. The corn dog was super crispy and tasty - the potatoes are a must! The waffle however left me a little underwhelmed, the matcha cream was a bit mild for me and I wish the waffles came with more stuff or topping vs just the cream. However, I just personally like my waffles filled with stuff so maybe I just had the wrong expectations. Super friendly service here, the servers immediately greeted us with smiles and when we picked up our food we were given more smiles! Overall this place is really cute and we had a good experience here :)

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while! The parking lot is tiny and was full so it was quite the drive to turn around. I recommend parking in the Korea Town Center parking lot and walking to the cafe to avoid any trouble. We got the half & half rice dog with potato and the half & half chubby waffle (strawberry and earl grey lavender). Everything was served on a cute wooden tray. I really liked the asthetic of everything :) I really enjoyed the ricedog! The cheese was super stretchy and the portion was large. There is a sauce bar where you can help yourself. I definitely recommend the potato add-on. The waffle was delightful! So much cream. The waffle was thin and crispy. There is also a cute little photo opp section in the cafe.

Such a cute cafe for a little date. Decor and atmosphere is really great and quite instagramable if you're into that. kind of difficult to find parking since the parking lots really tiny so I recommend you park at the Korean town center and just walk there. Literally the corn dogs are so good, nice and crunchy. They have a self -service sauce bar for your hot dogs. The drinks are really good price and they have a wide variety that choose from. This place has something for everyone from comforting corn dogs and sweet waffles and tacos with iced coffees and hot lattes. So there's something for everyone. Would come back to this place 100%

Very cute korean cafe. Waffles were crispy, light, and fluffy. The cream filling is amazing. My only complaint was the omelette toast tasted a bit off, the eggs felt over cooked and the veggies felt under cooked, wasn't a pleasant texture. Overall would recommend, waffles are great, excited to try their corn dogs next time!

Not really sure how this place can be disliked. Came here with a friend a while ago and honestly we indulged. We felt like we could go for more and more. The flavours are just so perfect and delicious. The place itself is cute and intimate as well.

Cute cafe but just okay. Mocha was tasty. The green tea with red bean waffle was just fine. The green tea whipped cream didn’t taste strong and the waffle itself is quite thin and cold when we ate it. Quite pricey at $9.

We tried the sausage and cheese corn dogs with potato and half and half waffles. The corn dogs came out hot and crispy. Sauces were self serve in the front. Both the cheese and sausage dogs were 5/5 tasty. The cheese one melted half way through to be held on a stick though. I think half sausage half cheese would be better to hold it together. The potato added extra crunch and were very good. The waffle was a miss for us. The texture of the cream was grainy. Seems like they added some sort of flavoring powder to get the strawberry and matcha taste into whipped cream but it wasn't all dissolved. It was just a strange texture to eat as we expected a smooth cream. We weren't too impressed with the waffle either. With the waffle being $9, it was underwhelming. I don't recommend it even if the cream would have been smooth at this price point. Service was just mediocre. I thought it would have been nice if they provided some explanation when ordering like for the sauces and such. I may return for the corndogs but skip waffles.

The waffle with red bean and matcha ice cream was pretty good. I got the rice corndog with potato and sausage. The sausage was underwhelming because it wasn’t a flavourful hot dog. They sprinkle sugar on the outside and I wasn’t a fan. The kids got the cheese corndog and seemed to enjoy it.

I had better rice corndog elsewhere but it was still pretty good, especially with the Basak sauce. The chubby waffle was a little heavy for me, but it could be that I was really full at the time. They forgot one of our drinks and I have to go up and ask them about it. Appeared they made it already but thought it was for the next order. Service was friendly though.
