Love my family doctor but the receptionists has some issues. The one that always makes phone calls and sends emails (seems to have indian accent) has major issues with being a receptionist. The way she carries out the message and the nuance that I receive is that she is sick and tired of talking with me. I tried to give her couple chances and she just failed at every single one. Whoever manages this clinic needs to do better job at training and hiring the receptionists.

Please avoid this clinic if you have a choice. My experience with the doctors here has been highly underwhelming. The GP says something and 3 months later the pediatrician has the opposite opinion - in the meanwhile, you have ruined your child's health. The doctors are so busy they hardly have time to see the patient. There have been multiple instances of inconsideration because, well, we are captive customers. If you complain to the doctors about something wrong, they will get aggressive and push you down so that you are left saying - I am sorry I talked to you about something you did wrong.

Really bad customer service. I was trying to book an appointment. First, it takes ages to get connected with reception. Then my phone call got interrupted, twice, they never called back and expected patients to call again and wait, explain... So, I sent an email that I need an appointment, no, they still need to get me on the phone, which keeps interrupting...I am giving up. Cannot say anything about doctors of the clinic, because it is almost impossible to book an appointment. And yes, I tried their online booking system which allowed me to book only a telephone call with the doctor which I knew was not going to help me, but I was hoping to at least get an appointment easier...

UPDATE: 30 minutes after writing this review, the receptionist responded saying Dr Garg doesn’t work there. This is how unethical these receptionist are who work there. Beware. I’ve attached two signatures from my emails showing the address and email is in fact from this location. They should be reported for poor practice. The Staffing is terrible, specifically with the receptionist. English is the receptionists second language, the language barrier makes it difficult for her to understand the message you’re trying to get across. The doctor, while my experience with her directly was fine, took two extended breaks in the 1 year I was with her. That means no appointments during that time, even if you get very sick. I was in the hospital twice this month and emailed for an appointment, I was told in July, that she’s taking an extended break until the end of September and no appointments are available until after she’s back. That seems rather reckless and unprofessional when you’re dealing with these types of patients. Even my GP has someone covering him when he’s away. People still require medical care when you’re vacationing! Last, I cancelled my last appointment because I had a lot going on. I was told today I’m no longer a patient because my referral expired and now they are not accepting new patients. I explained I’m not a new patient, I’m an existing patient, and ask why they wouldn’t give a heads up to either myself or my GP about the referral coming to an end so it could be renewed. She said I would have to take it up with my GP. I’m now a lupus Patient without a rheumatologist because of their disorganization and unprofessionalism. This clinic needs to be better managed. My 1 star is for the politeness I experienced with DR. Garg but I couldn’t give anything more. Better organization when dealing with patients is key.

I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional or their office staff, to the point of being brought to tears. To keep a long story short- I had my initial consult with Dr. Garg a little over six months ago, was prescribed pills, and sent on my way. the pills I was given are meant to be taken daily which I clearly expressed was something I didn’t need for my condition, however, my concerns were ignored (even though I told the doctor of a medication that worked fine and wasn’t a daily dose). when I eventually needed the pain medication I had a horrible reaction to them, and when I tried to get help from the doctor and office, I was told by the doctor -who was incredibly venomous and actually raised her voice at me multiple times- that I was “wasting her time” and that she is not responsible for me after the initial visit. I had asked her why she would prescribe me medication if she had no intention of being accountable for what may happen after, and she had no good answer other that to blame me for not taking them right away; in her mind she is not responsible for me since I took them six months after the visit. I tried to explain to her that I don’t have the bad pain flare ups everyday, and can usually numb the pain without meds, however she didn’t care and continued to say that her time was valuable and I was wasting it, furthermore she wouldn’t do anything to help me unless I got a new referral from my GP (what a money grab..). The level of arrogance and self-importance is incredible, I would not recommend Dr.Garg to anyone.

Really bad customer service. Save yourself some headaches and find somewhere else. If you already have health issue, do you wanna add more stress to your life? I was assigned to this place for my family doctor and came here for one appointment. The issue doesn’t solved after 4 months following the instructions so I made another appointment to come back. On the day of the in person appointment, 4 hour before the appointment time, the clinic called me to tell me the doctor wants to work from home and want to either change the appointment to phone call or reschedule it. Im already in pain and want to see the doctor in person but what choice would I have. And maybe the doctor had some personal issue that she had to stay home. So I agree to have it as phone call and reschedule the in person appointment. At the appointment time, noone called and I waited for 30’ as said in the email that doctor might be behind. I called the office and they said doctor put the note of no show for me. I’m sorry what? What time did they call? I asked and the front desk just said I dont know she left the message like that. I told her to ask that and also put it as a complain! The front desk cut me off, said OK and hang up on me. Worst Customer Service I ever had in North America, even worse than a Chinese restaurant!

Dr. Manhas was really nice and took her time to listen to me. The entire staff starting from the front desk were really polite and helpful. I have also interacted with Dr. Kalia & Dr. Iftikhar in the past and had similar positive experience.

Why isn't the receptionist fired yet? Just terrible how they behave!! After so many 1-star reviews you should consider hiring someone who really cares and know how to talk to sick people with respect...before they completely ruin the reputation of this clinic.

For the most part the experience with MedCare Plus receptionists and doctors was good. I reached out because of an emergency and following my blood work I was referred to a Dermatology Clinic. The appointment date I received was 5 months later so I called MedCare to get new referral for ANY clinic even far away that would be take me in sooner. However, the receptionist I got on call this time just wouldn't let me talk to even explain the request I was trying to make. She was arrogant, put me on hold without letting me fully explain my request and eventually asked me to cancel with the other clinic if I had issues with the appointment being too late. I understand that the wait time is significant for other appointments but they also need to know how to convey that message. I was looking for an alternate referral to another clinic but was dismissed altogether. Receptionists are the face of any clinic and if this is the way they treat patients it doesn't matter how great the doctors are because patients won't reach the point of seeing that.

I was visiting this clinic for a year and I was seeing Dr. Sumit and Dr.Iftekhar both of them are a gentleman and treated me with respect and kindness. I called in to book an in person appointment and the receptionist who answered my call was so impatient and rude that she was ok with me not visiting them for my medical checkup when I asked for her name she disconnected my call.I am sure this is a lady from the Philippines. (Mentioning this so that the appropriate people get to know about her)

I called to the clinic yesterday to book an appointment for me and for my dad and the receptionist told me to call me back today but no one calls me back! Receptionist in this clinic is kinda rude and doesn’t have professionalism. It’s kinda disappointing on my part. The clinic should look for a better receptionist who is friendly and caring to their patients even if it’s new or old patients.

As much as the doctors are the best... their front desk staff isn't the best and are not trustworthy or reliable to deal with. I had an issue with a referral and I called to confirm that the referral was done and the Front desk receptionist said that it was and that I had to wait 2-4 months. I did this twice to confirm and both times it was confirmed. It has now been 4 months and I called again today and the staff said that nothing was done on their end and that a referral was not even completed. I do not understand how a receptionist can say a referral is done and yet it was non existent??? mind you I work in the health field as well so I know how referrals work. I suggest that if people are having referrals done to ensure to call again so that you are not waiting for nothing. I am told that now I need to wait another 2-4 months for my referral to be seen by a clinic.... THANK YOU SO MUCH! literally wasted my time for nothing. CALL AND DOUBLE CHECK, don't assume people are doing their jobs right especially if its relating your health.

Went for weekly check up for my new born, I had to reschedule my original appointment date as I wasn't able to go on that day. So when I went on the date given by them, they made us wait in one of the checkup room and then asked us to pay the appointment reschedule fee. After making us wait, manager told us to pay the fee first then only doctor will see the newborn else he won't. Doctor was nice but he told us that he was overbooked so he wasn't able to check even the vitals properly.

You are given appointment time for 11 am but doctor comes at 11.50 am. Third time at this clinic and same unprofessional behavior by the doctor/s Just because they are doctors they think there is no value for other people's time and money. I would have taken the name but it doesn't matter whole clinic supoorts such behavior. If i had option of negative stars I would have given that.

If I can give a zero I would. November 27 1140am - whoever the receptionist I dealt with is horrible at her job. Don’t be a receptionist when you have to deal with people all day as YOUR JOB and you don’t know how to be polite and professional. I’m a new patient wanting to book an appointment. I haven’t even gotten to say a date and time I just asked for an opening and she responded “No appointment today. Go to urgent care.” I responded well I don’t need urgent care, can’t I book an appointment on another day with you guys? She immediately said “No. Okay…” and proceeded to hang up. Horrible service. The website says accepting new patients yet won’t take me in for an appointment. No help whatsoever,

The worst practice I’ve ever had. My daughter was supposed to get a vaccine, they forgot the vaccine part and just gave her saline solution. We were given other peoples medical records randomly and now I had a virtual appt, got disconnected 10 sec into it and they never called back. If I could give negative stars I would. I would not and do not trust this practice.

I have had awesome experience with the clinic and y GP Dr. Sumeet Kalia. He attends to every situation and responds to the critical one very promptly. Even though I have moved to Langley, I'm still on their list and I visit them as needed. Recently one of the front desk ladies went an extra mile so that we can get an ultrasound booking for my wife (which was urgent due to c section) though there was a month waiting everywhere. Thanks “Humraj”

Honestly this is the best experience I’ve had with a physician and their team in years. I work in healthcare and see all different types of approaches when it comes to patient care. This office has an easy to use booking system, efficient flow of patients through the clinic and a kind and thoughtful approach on the phone and in person. I can’t say thank you enough for Dr Kalia and his team for getting me the care I need.

Dr. Maryam Ahmadi has been nothing short of a god-send after receiving the news that she was appointed my family doctor. She is consistent in her care, and very thorough. I have had walk-in doctors and even family doctors medically gaslight me in the past, leading to a whole slew of issues. But Dr. Ahmadi always takes my concerns and questions very seriously which is honestly a breath of fresh air. Dr. Ahmadi, if you are reading this - thank you for all of the work you do and the care you provide. Please understand that your work is recognized and appreciated.

Absolutely abysmal standard of care on all fronts. The admin staff do not talk to the drs at all and so could getting a referall or claim processed with any type of efficiency is wishful thinking. I was booked by mistake by their weekend staff specifically to see a walkin dr for a wcb claim and was treated like garbage because I'm not a part of the family practice. if you have any other options go there first.

Dear Dr. Kalia and the Medicare ➕ Medical Clinic Staff, Thank you for taking such good care of me last Saturday. I was so sick, walked in your clinic and then passed out in your waiting room. Dr. Kalia, you stayed with me and took care of me until the ambulance came. Thank you so much. I'm on the mend now. This is the kind of doctor and staff that one needs when not feeling well. Sincerely, Stacey Olding

My family doctor Dr. Ahmadi M is amazing!!. She is Super kind and truly cares. I’m really really lucky I got paired with her. She is the first dr in my 33 years of life that I feel really happy about and can trust in just a short time. The front desk staff are also really kind and helpful. The gentlemen that answered the phone today to book an appointment was nice and patient. Thank you

Dr Sumeet Kalia is simply the best. Without even thinking twice he knew exactly what was wrong with me and provided me excellent care. I highly recommend Dr Kalia.

The clinic likely has good doctors, but the one I saw on 01/04 (tall, middle aged with black grey beard) misread my medical form and quoted $200 for a full body exam. The same form was filled in using my BP and pulse for $40 at a different clinic.

I was a patient here since the clinic opened and had nothing but great experiences with every Doctor. It was very easy to get phone appointments without having to wait weeks to get in. Phone appointments always were within the allotted one hour time frame and they got me in on time for any in-person appointments. The Doctors always addressed any concerns I had and every Dr. I saw had great bedside manners. They wouldn't brush off issues and were always sure to do the appropriate labs or referrals as needed. Dr. Deepika Kalia was my family doctor and she was great with everything. At times, I had also seen Dr. Sumeet Kalia (also amazing!), Dr. Adnan Iftikhar, and Dr. Rajvir Laura and they were all fantastic. I moved away so the clinic is sadly now too far and I had to find one closer to me, otherwise I would have stayed here for all of my family medical needs. The front desk staff were always very friendly to me and it was easy to get through on the phones to them. They were quick to reply to any of my emails as well.

Although I am client of this medical clinic since the day they opened it but first time I am sharing my experience. This the first day I had very good customer service, before in my every visit I had very bad experience with customer services.I haven’t seen this receptionist before. I believe she is newly hired. I wish her good luck and petty sure she will provide excellent services to all the clients of this clinic Dr Sumeet is my family doctor from day one and he is extremely good.

  • 1/5 Keziah V. 1 year ago on Google
Dr Kalia is amazing and caring. Unfortunately the receptionists are very rude, unprofessional and never have the time to listen and pits you on hold and forgets about you. I called 3 times today kept on hold for gazillion times just for an immunization appointment. Neither of the receptionists care about you or want to help you. Pathetic service. Seems like the administration doesn't want to address it either as I can see many people have already complained about this.
