I should have read all comments except for good ones. This is what happened to me. I originally told the acupuncturist Dr Kuo to do acupuncture. Then I got the bill of a tension adjustment. Tbh it’s a big scam and the acupuncturist charged more than what you originally asked them to do. There are more than hidden fees without customer’s permission. How can an acupuncturist give chiropractic treatment to patients? Will never recommend it to other patient. You can definitely find a better clinic in anywhere else providing higher quality service and treatment, instead of letting them take your money and giving you an unreasonable bill.

I was having alot of pain on neck and left back to the extent that I was not able to function. They were able to squeeze me in for an osteopath/massage appointment on the day off. The doctor is very nice and professional, and I felt much better after! Would recommend the clinic to everyone else!

It was not a good experience. I went there for a neck massage therapy because my regular therapist went for vacation. However, the practitioner did a Chinese Zhenggu therapy without discussing it with me, which is expensive. Most importantly, I felt much more painful along my spine after the Zhenggu. So definitely ask them what kind of therapy they will do for you and what the fees will be. They will not tell you. They will just do it for you without your permission, and after your therapy, they will show you a big bill that you have to pay for it. I sensed that they care more about the money than the patients.

Dr Kuo is very kind and understand all my neck problem. I hurt my neck(left side) last summer and even i cant sleep. The doctor solved my pain but my neck still is not same as before. I still cant fully turn left. Doctor says we can completely solve the problem (i wish) but looks like it takes time and this is not cheap treatment. However, i am happy to dont have huge pains anymore.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this medical professional for those seeking treatment of health concern. I strongly suggest finding another Chinese medical professional to address your health concerns. In my experience, this clinic prioritizes financial gain over their patients’ well-being. They are money hunger. Don’t come to here for abductions and fraud. Sorry for that.

Customer Service: 5/5 (English/Mandarin Speaking) Transit Score: 5/5 (Very close to Metrotown and great parking options nearby) Accessibility: 4/5 (The rooms are small and will require some maneuvering for wheelchairs, however the bathroom is quite large) My fiance brought me here because I have been struggling with body pain since my motorcycle accident in 2019. Back then, I shattered my pelvis, broke my neck and a disc in my back, ripped some intestines, had to have an ostomy, came out with lots of nerve damage, had to have skin grafts, etc etc. I have healed pretty amazingly considering all of the injuries, but I have daily chronic pain and a lot of it is in my muscles. I have been to numerous chiropractors, doctors, massage therapists, and a naturopath trying to find a fix. The problem is, a lot of western medicine seems to be focused on finding patients relief, but not necessarily a fix for the problem. It's great that my chiropractor can align my spine and neck when I really need it and I can go home and have a few days of relief, I do think that that is a blessing and a necessary service. It's also great that massage therapy can help with my fascia issues on my skin grafts, that's also pretty necessary. David Kuo at Bonalife yesterday laid me down on a massage table and went to work. Without xrays or anything invasive, using only his hands, he was able to find everything wrong with me. You can tell that he has been doing this for many, many years. He was friendly when I came into the clinic and rather funny/endearing, which made it easy to trust him. The process hurt a good amount, because finding what ails me is quite painful. However, once he found all of the unaligned skeletal issues, he fixed them. I mean he fixed them in ways my chiropractor has never even attempted. Mr. Kuo measured my shoulders before the session and again after. I had inches worth of space between them and my neck that I hadn't had in the last year, probably even two years since my accident. My fiance watched as my spine suddenly became smooth under her fingers, whereas at the beginning of the session it was bumpy and jutting in areas that were not sitting against each other properly. (He asked her to touch the areas of my body that he was going to fix before and after so she could see the difference.) After that Mr. Kuo used acupuncture on my body, which was actually my first time. It barely hurt, I was slightly surprised; it only hurt in my neck where the muscles had been tight the longest. (By hurt, I mean it was absolutely bearable, it was just a bit of a dull, discomfort). I have so much neck and upper back pain because my muscles are constantly fighting to protect injuries that no longer exist, and Mr. Kuo has released that pain. I woke up this morning for the FIRST TIME in maybe 2 YEARS without neck and back pain. I rolled out of bed without the normal readying myself or trying to stretch and massage out the knotted bits before moving. Let me tell you I am celebrating this with a nice dinner tonight. I will be returning to see Mr. Kuo in a few days because it will take a few sessions to retrain my muscles to accept my repositioned skeleton. I was told by my chiropractor before that same thing. I will update this review after a few sessions. Even if I have to see Mr. Kuo every few months for years, I would be happy to. I currently see a chiropractor and massage therapist once every week or two. Mr. Kuo works out of the Richmond office and the Burnaby office on alternating days.

    • My lower back L3, L4 and L5 has been narrowing for over 15 years. It bothered me very much every time I get hurt. I remember many years ago, I suffered an injury to my lower back again. I could not stand, sit, bent and move, and even could not turn the body on the bed because of lower back serious pain. I called ambulance and went directly into hospital emergency and received two injections of morphine in the hospital, it did not work. I went to Bonalife seeking help, Dr. Jia and Dr. Kuo were very enthusiastic offering treatment solutions. It is amazing, after Dr. Jia did acupuncture and cupping for me, I could walk and move easily right away. After three additional treatments, I recovered entirely and could function as a normal person again. I am very grateful of her superb medical skills and experiences. Since then if I get injured again, I go to see Dr. Jia and get acupuncture instantly. She is a friendly, amiable and experienced doctor.

I have been diagnosed as Bell's Palsy(面神经炎 or 面神经麻痹 in Chinese) on Aug 22, 2019. After I finished prednisone(western medicine treatment) on Sep 1st, I was suffering multiple syndromes which my left side face including my tongue and lips were paralyzed. So I was searching for "温哥华的好中医诊所" on google, "Bonalife Acupuncture Herbal"(博仁堂中医诊所)in Burnaby came out in front of me. I made an appointment with Dr. Laura Jia right away; Dr. Jia started acupuncture treatment to me together with traditional Chinese medicine on Sep 3rd. I have done 4 times acupuncture treatments by yesterday, it has been improved a lot after the first acupuncture treatment, I look like almost normal today on Sep 8; and I am very happy and relieved now. I have booked another 8 acupunctures for continuing treatment from tomorrow. I am sure I will be complete recovered soon. My Chinese Medcal doctor Dr. Laura Jia(贾晓蓉 中医师) is an amazing person with excellent skills and pleasant personality. Thank you Dr. Jia! By the way, the locations of 2 clinics are super convenient and the customer service is great as well! Many Thanks to Bonalife Acupuncture Herbal 博仁堂中医诊所!

My knee was swollen and there was sharp pain. I think it was due to strenuous stretching. Anyways, came to see the doctor(Laura) She used acupuncture and cupping to relieve the stress from my knee and it felt really good afterwards. Would definitely reccomend, will be going back tomorrow for a follow up.

I first went to this clinic to see Dr. Kuo about 8 years ago, after suffering from persistent pain in my neck and shoulder areas. Previous treatments at other places, including physiotherapy and massage therapy, hadn't been successful. Dr. Kuo applied a combination of acupuncture and cupping treatment which practically alleviated my pain. The treatment was very effective. I've continued to see Dr. Kuo and Dr. Jia for ongoing maintenance type treatments. The underlying cause of my injury is related to my office work ergonomics and sport activities, therefore it is important for me to continue with preventative type treatments. Both doctors have been excellent, knowledgeable and professional. I've always feel comfortable discussing about my injuries and treatment with them. They provide effective treatments and they care about their patients. I recommend this clinic and the doctors.

I’ve been going there for almost 10years, Dr Guo and Dr Jia are definitely very professional, they helped me a lot with my back bone problems .. whenever I need the treatment, they are my first choice, I don’t understand why people talking about the price, for my understanding, they are the most reasonable price for their services.. and they are very care about the patient, at least I felt it..

It's a long story for more than 10 years of acupuncture treatment. About 11 years ago, I had golf elbow and tennis elbow due to longer time workout. I attempted to treat the pains from several doctors with injection procedure, unfortunately not working. One day after lunch, I walked by the new opened clinic and had a small talk with Miss Jia. She simply pinched my ankles and told me that she could fix my problem. So I tried and it worked after 4 visits. Since then, I became a loyal patient for my muscle pains. Especially my lower back pains, Mr Guo had magically fixed my pains with needles and cupping every time. I really appreciate the good work. Thanks

I came to the BonaLife for the pain of my sacroiliac joints, left hip, and left knee. I told Dr. Chang about the medicine history for the pain. Instantly and particularly, Chang explained why the medicine I took is inefficient. It shows Dr. Chang’s professional . The experience of treatment is hopeful., and Dr. Chang also gave me some advice for future treatment.
