Not even worth a star! I was referred to Dr. Wong for stomachache. After waiting a long time, he called me and asked about my symptoms. When I tried to explain, he interrupted me and said:” Don’t explain; answer my question.” Then he booked an appointment for the endoscopy, which was the only time I saw the Dr. for a second before they put me to sleep! Later, he called me, diagnosed me with Reflux, and gave me medicine. But the medication didn’t work, my pain worsened, and I lost weight! My family Dr. told me you should explain to him that you lost weight (10 KG for one month). But again, when I tried to explain that medication dost work, he said you did not use it contingently, which is why they don’t work; he changed my medication thought! But the pain was intolerable! Eventually, when I had another one of those pain attacks, I went to ER, and the Dr. there did Sonography and realized that my Gallbladder had a stone and the situation was urgent for surgery! One week after surgery (January), I had one of those follow-up phone call appointments with Dr. Wong! When I told him that I had a Gallbladder stone, he just told me,” I am so sorry,” and “ I will follow up again with you after two months! But he did not! However, today (it is June 19), after five months, I received a message confirming an appointment next week, BUT the funny point is the name of the patient is not me!!! I regret why I did not sue him for his carelessness! By the way, the message said there is a $75 no-show cancellation policy, and the only option is to confirm the appointment! There is no phone call or a code for cancelling! There is just a code for confirming another useless appointment with Dr. Wong!

Quite possibly the worst medical clinic I've ever been too. Called to confirm my appointment the day of and showed up 1 minute on the clock after the time that was confirmed only to find out the doctor had left already because "he runs on time" and I needed to be there 15 minutes early to which they apparently called me that day. I dropped my phone in a lake and called that morning to confirm from another phone, why did no one tell me then?!

This clinic is extremely poorly run. During the start of covid, for many many months, they did not answer their phone, get back to any voicemails OR their emails. It was to the point where my family doctor contacted me if there's any way she can reach my GI doctor (Dr. Alan Yau) because it was impossible to reach him or the clinic. My experience with Dr. Yau was very terrible. It was constant put downs, medical gaslighting, and I would always walk away from the appointments feeling more distressed. He was so convinced I only had IBS even though I knew something more was wrong with me (I ended up getting diagnosed with a serious GI condition). I begged my family doctor to refer me to another GI doctor multiple times and she tried but each request was rejected because I was already assigned to a GI doctor.

Waste of time. I met Dr. Alan Yau in person after months of waiting just to go through a number of questions, a very simple (seemed almost fake) physical exam and then be told that I cannot have a colonoscopy. There is no need for one because my family history of colon cancer and the rules in Canada says that I should not be worried. Apparently this colon cancer is well aware of the country in which I live and in Canada it chooses to be less threatening, allowing us, Canadians a few more years. Dr. Alan knows how to talk you down from what you need and how to push you out the door - great skills! A complete waste of time and money; the system is broken and this doctor (at least) doesn't care because making money is just by typing a few words in a computer. Could not care less about my real problems, did not care about what I am worried about or what bothers me. A robot could have done the same. I could have answered all the questions by myself from home in 10 minutes. Dr. Alan has no real medical information about me, refused to do his job but decided that I don't need any medical help! Stop accepting referrals to Dr. Alan - save your time, find another specialist.

Please do something about the phone lines. I cannot get through and had some pertinent questions regarding medications. Or consider an alternative method of communication. Initial consult with dr- said he would follow up with me after my colonoscopy to help me manage my symptoms. After procedure he said see you in 5 years. Been 6 weeks post procedure and I haven't heard anything back even though I had a biopsy as part of the colonoscopy and he promised to help me manage my symptoms. Save yourself the trouble and ask your gp to refer you elsewhere.

Initially we all know western doctors have a horrible way of approaching patients with any given conditions. Saddly we were victims in this case with dr frank wong, we thought that he was kind due to the nice bed side manner when he visited my mom at the hospital. But with the physical visit it was just different, his energy was very out of wack, it felt like we were rushed, he didnt give us time to explain, both mine and my mothers anxiety level was through the roof, we didnt feel heard , especially with my mothers condition. My mothers current condition and concern is strictly for him to see, not the other condition she also has which is held by another doctor. Yes it is a concern but not to a concern where you point to my mother, while agressively telling her that she is going to die any moment if she doesn’t fix this, we’ve told him adamantly that we will do everything one step at a time, but he never listens. Bringing that kind of energy at home is horrible and disgusting - its like we were arguing with someone we’ve known for a long time, super disrespectful. And for this we will not be coming back.

“We’re too busy to be offering second opinions”. That’s a direct quote from Dr Frank Wong from my appointment today. This is the kind of treatment you will receive from this dr if you hope to get any help. I was blown off because I had a different gastro doctor 2 years ago that did not help me. I have the same issues getting progressively worse, so I decided to get another doctor to look at my case. This excuse of a dr apparently doesn’t like doing his job, because I was repeatedly talked over, dismissed and talked to with disrespect. Disgusting behaviour and I will be reporting this comment to CPSBC. Don’t ever go to this Dr. He is clearly not a very caring doctor and has HORRIBLE bed side manner. I guess this doctor thinks that not digesting most of your food, losing 40 pounds and having daily bloody diarrhea is normal.

I started being a patient here with Dr. Farzad Saberi back in 2011. I was quite devastated when he sadly passed away but I have continued seeing the Respirologists here since then. I have found that they will go out of their way to assist you in any way that they can. I remember back in 2016 when I was dealing with the Jimmy Pattison pavilion in Surrey and I was being told my surgery could be delayed up to three months or more while I waited for a stress test and breathing tests. While in the waiting room there I called the Saberi Clinic and told them about my issues at JP and I was in the very next day to have a stress test in their office and they arranged a breathing test for me within days. I had the needed surgery just a couple of weeks later – not months. Just this week I was having an issue with a prescription that had expired. My family doctor’s office was reluctant to issue one and instructed me to see my Respirologist. Yes – I am sure I will get an immediate appointment !! Due to horrible weather issues here I was not able to get through via the phone so yesterday (December 21st) I sent a message request outlining my problem and received a response in just a few hours. I replied to that email asking if the doctor could simply write me a prescription and this morning (December 22nd) I received a phone call saying the doctor who was currently out of town had sent in a prescription for me and it had been sent to my pharmacy. You can’t ask for better service than that. I have had to call in to the office many times over the years and I have had to leave a message from time to time. These calls are usually returned within a few hours or the next day at the latest. There are different doctors with different specialties here and I have seen a couple of these as well as the Respirologist. I have found these other doctors to be friendly and pleasant when I have dealt with them. Sometimes it takes awhile to get in to see them as they are so busy. I have read some of the reviews here and the entire clinic should not be blasted due to one bad appointment or one bad experience. I have been dealing with this clinic for almost 12 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

My wife is diabetic and we have been seeing Dr Mirjana Pavlic at least 5 years. I attend all visits, with wife and offer these comment...Dr Pavlic is competant, meticulous and caring. there is nothing more we could ask. The reception desk is staffed with wonderful people and now after 3 years of Covid 19,we are back to in-office visits and it was like a family reunion. we generally make appointments about 3 months apart but the last 2 years,my wife has had difficulties with controlling her blood sugars and Dr. Pavlic has requested emails to her with my wife's daily glucose readings, every 2 weeks or so. Dr.Pavlic wants to monitor more closely so that if she sees changes requiring dosage changes, she makes them and advises us quickly. Like I said...not much more to ask from a doctor.

Reception is slow and rather incompetent. I never expected this to create problems until I needed to update contact information and transfer care - it was nigh impossible. Dr. Yau is not friendly, not do I feel that he was particularly familiar with the medications he was prescribing. His saving grace is that if you do your own research, he will reasonably listen to you. Chances are you're here because you need a gastroenterologist. Sadly, I would not recommend Dr. Alan Yau.

MY MUM was NOT feeling well AT ALL. He prescribed pantoprazole and my mum was experiencing burning sensations and we tried to reach him but the RECEPTIONIST TOLD US that it would take 3 MONTHS. YEA U HEARD THAT. 3 MONTHS. Can u believe it? NOT TO ME TION THE RECEPTIONIST OH MY GOD. Pls don’t take away the LIMITED SPACE FOR ACTUAL QUALIFIED MOA since u have 0 compassion too. Doctors who don’t even have compassion for their clients. We were just asking for an appointment for an emergency case. Even a call would help. But there was NOTHING he could do for my mom. I’m really disappointed in the health care system.

I don’t understand why so much negative comments for Dr Frank Wong , I got terrified of seeing him prior my appointment because of bad comments. All contrary, this doctor is super kind , super resourceful, and patient, I was pleasantly surprised. I felt heard and I received proper treatment. The reception lady , Nalini , she was super kind to explain me all details about my upcoming colonoscopy. 😊

Appointment was cancelled because they wouldn’t answer the phone when I called 3 times and waited 30 minutes for someone to answer. Would rate this place 0 stars
