I love this place! I heard Jeremy Lin was doing rehabilitation here and right away I knew forties health (previous name) was a good place. I went here for my vaccine and people here were so kind. My first time going to the gym here did not disappoint either. The staff were super kind. The front desk lady was also very compassionate after she found out I had cancer. She was trying to make me feel better too. The gym was huge!! I wanted to take pictures but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to. The technology was very state-of-the-art. The only problem I have is that 50% of the people working out were not wearing masks. Plus, I didn't see many of them sanitizing their workstation when they were finished. I probably won't be coming until after the pandemic. But I love this place already. Seeing seniors and extremely fit youth lift heavy weights is something I've never seen before but inspires me to one-day be like them.

Went to the Christine Sinclair Community Centre (formerly Burnaby Fortius) for my first COVID 19 Vaccine Shot. Got the at 7:15, after a brief confirmation, I took my shot at about 7:28pm. I was asked to wait for 15 minutes at the waiting area. Done by 7:41. Pretty fast. i m glad i didn’t have to wait in line to get my shot.

Good soccer fields. The facilities are great all around. There is also a coffee shop and a tennis store. Lots of parking. Surrounded by green scenery.

This facility is excellent and a great fit for the community. The location is perfect as it is surrounded by outdoor sports facilities and playgrounds along with other sports complexes. Inside, there is a beautiful foyer with easy access to a huge gym and adjacent pool. There's even a punch bag area! The Bastion Coffee and Kitchen is a great fit to grab some food after. Also, there are tables spread out for students to come and do some group projects or study. Restrooms are clean and maintained. Pop in if you're nearby.

I got my second dose vaccine in this place. Very organized, clean and pretty quick to complete the process. Friendly staff. Convenient free parking also provided. Both Pfizer and Moderna provided for second dose and you will have chance to choose preferably same as your first shot. Vaccination are in almost in private rooms (two person in each room) and then you should wait in waiting area for at least 15 minutes. Staff are kindly guide in all the process.

I bought a Be Active pass yesterday and sat in my car a long while outside today before going in (I haven't worked out in a long time and I was nervous). Let me just say, I never felt more at ease than after today's workout. I didn't grab his name, but the man at the front-desk to the fitness center (said he usually works morning shifts) was so enthusiastic about what a great gym it was, it made me feel excited to start. He let me know that they are going to get more exercise classes going (speed cycling) and another change room in the next coming weeks. Sometimes teams of about 40 come to work out, but he said the space is big so it's not usually a problem. A group of soccer girls came in and they were polite and courteous to the regular work out people, I didn't mind. There is a locker room, but bring your own lock. I didn't check it out, but apparently there is also a steam and sauna room for use. I saw people working out without masks if they were on the machines but it personally didn't bother me as I said there's a lot of space if you like to keep your distance. Shout out to Burnaby for a great investment and staffing! Looking forward to re-starting my fitness and health journey here 😊

Air quality in the fitness centre is often quite poor (no air coming from the vents, no open windows or doors, humidity north of 70%). Great place to grow molds and catch an airborne illness 👍. This is not new - it has been a recurring (and known) issue for at least two years. There has been ample time to address it.

The facility is very clean and tidy compared to other recreational centres throughout the Lower mainland Can't wait for the new CG Brown pool to open up right across the street in the next 2 to 3 years. Staff are well mannered too! 👌

Loved it a lot more when it was called Fortius and was privately owned. Still a great quality with a great set of basketball courts, but it’s starting to show a bit of a wear and tear. But the biggest issues are around entry policies where they’re forcing us (playing in a rec basketball league) to wait by the back entrance that’s not covered, rain, wind or snow, instead of entering through the lobby, for no good reason (please don’t say Covid because it’s getting old plus we’re just about to go play basketball and sweat all over each others anyway).

In my recent experience with customer service at this location, I have had mixed interactions. While Ivone provided excellent customer service and exceeded my expectations, my interactions with other lady representative have left something to be desired. Although I appreciate their assistance, I did not feel that their level of service was on par with what I would expect from a customer service representative. However, I must commend Ivone for her outstanding ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

Newer, amazing, lovely building\gym. Grateful such a high-quality gym exists to use. State-of-the-art machines that don't use plates, they use compressed air. First-time seeing that, very cool. Also very cool and first time seeing gym-lockers that use a four digit code instead of a lock, in the lower floor. They should all have that. Things that need improving: -The stairs in the gym are too skinny. Why design\build the stairs that people are constantly using to go back and forth from the upper and lower floor like that?? Awkward, undesirable moments of squeezing-by strangers. -The lockers(upper-floor) are too low, small & shallow! Why in the world would you have lockers in a GYM, where you can barely fit a GYM-bag into?? Can barely get all your stuff, shoes, coat, etc in, & get the door closed. It's an unergonomic, bent-over, awkward-struggle to adjust your stuff. What is the design thinking\sense there?! Nobody uses, or can reach the top ones. Those should have just all been full-height lockers. Would have still been enough lockers, the whole bottom-row is never-all used. -Nothing to sit on, put your stuff on but the floor, while changing in the lower floor's change room. Gotto sit on the damn-floor to do your socks & shoes. -The corners of the parking-lot entrance\exit's are not properly designed. Very awkward\unsafe. They don't have the appropriately-sized radius curve. Not up-to-code, surprised it is allowed. -Parking-spaces are awkwardly too skinny. -There should always be at table next to the inside of the main door. To have something to set your stuff on, take your coat off, get your membership-card out, etc, besides the damn floor. Common-sense. Shouldn't even have to tell you this. -When they block-off parking-spaces with barricades... instead, of placing the barricades WITHIN the length of the parking-spaces, like any sane person would do,, I see them placed PAST(?!) the end of the parking-space & IN the driving laneway's width. UNNECESSARILY limiting the driving laneways width.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The amenities are super new and the staff are really nice. They also have a boxing area at their gym which is very cool as most do not. You could easily stay the whole day here as there are lots of activities to do.

Facilities are clean. Small cafe inside, not sure about hours or food availability. Parking is terrible. Not enough spots, and very tight. They have one gym that can be divided in half, can accommodate 2-3 volleyball courts I believe.

This fitness centre is vast and the air quality is adequate for strenuous exercise. My buddy Luc Lapierre has been trying to run 100 metres for the last 2 years and he can barely do it here because although his lungs are small and his legs are weak, this centre’s equipment and air quality have allowed him to achieve the impossible.

What an amazing acquisition for the City of Burnaby to take over Fortius and renaming it after one of Canada's best athletes and advocates ever in Canada!! I have thoroughly enjoyed my rehab sessions here with my kinesiologist in this first-class facility! The janitors keep the building spotless and all the employees are happy, friendly and helpful. Fit First has an excellent selection of runners and Bastion, the coffee shop is excellent too! The work out area and gym is quite busy and some of the equipment is breaking down and needs replacing, which can be a little frustrating, but I plan on continuing my fitness journey here after my rehabilitation is complete. A big thank you to Lori, Carl, Adrian and everyone else for making my time here so welcoming and enjoyable!!! ❤

Great facility. I was there last year for a covid vaccine, and using the gym, wow, everything you could want and then more! Looking down on the gyms from the second floor, they looked huge and shiny. This week I was in one of the meeting rooms, nice and spacious.

This should be the go-to for any athlete looking to elevate their training and performance, regardless of their location in the lower mainland. I was last here to salvage the expensive tech that Fortius was auctioning off. To those forgetting its former glory, Fortius was a facility designed to meet the requirements of elite athletic preparation. Its campus was designed as a one-stop shop for class athletes to live, train, and receive therapy. It is nice to see the City of Burnaby repurposing its previous investments and giving it such a fitting name, so to continue the elite experience of training and preparation for everyone looking to achieve their podium goals. In the gym you will find many tools from the old high performance centre. They include: Keiser full and half racks, Keiser cables, air strength equipment, Eleiko training bumpers, Rogue deep dish plates. They have competition bench racks, and speciality bars like Ohio power bar and various Kryptons. This space is perfect for the athlete, powerlifter, and those looking for more out of their training spaces. There are many large open spaces perfect for mobility, athletic movements on their multi-purpose surface (push-sled, punching bags, TRX. Additional facilities include a change room at the lower level of the gym, with access to steam and sauna rooms. You'll notice the details on the glass, wood panels, and general layout. Unbelievable that it is all for City of Burnaby prices! * * * The City must try their best to maintain this space, and do as much as possible to resist replacing the equipment and the style of the former facility. The Keiser machines, bumper plates, and the facility's condition will naturally deteriorate over time. However, I urge the decision makers not to panic over its sure-to-come costs and to consider repairs rather than replacements when equipment becomes compromised. I already see simple (ugly) blue fold up chairs occupying the change room as well as the foyer. Please strategize how to maintain the current set up despite raising costs. By carrying the name 'Christie Sinclair', and inheriting such a fortunate set up, it has a responsibility to inspire future champions on home turf and to provide a space for them to grow. In the meantime, I will delight in this bright spot for athletics and performance in the lower mainland.

Great place for a drop in workout! Super clean and can't beat the cost of a day pass. Very good equipment and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to get a workout in in Burnaby.

Badminton for the win! I invited my coworkers to play badminton. They were able to successfully book online, unfortunately for me - I ran out of available spots as the event was already full. Felt awkward since I invited them and I couldn't get a spot for myself. I took a chance by going there in person yesterday and hoping they would give me a chance to play even if I did not get a spot online. So what happened? Everyone who works there were actually very helpful. They explained to me what they can and cannot do regarding my request. Maya (hopefully thats the spelling of her name) really ran the extra mile by doing her best to find a way for me to be able to play badminton with my colleagues. I ended up being able to play badminton - for the win! (i actually lost many games) But big shout for Maya for being so awesome. Thank you.

We went to FitFirst to get some inserts. Parking is horrible. The building itself is good. FitFirst very good but the parking is bad.

Really good weightlifting room. Bit too many people wasting time on the equipment looking at their phones and for God's sake some of the worst music I've ever heard being played in the gym. Is it too much to ask for some metal once in a while?

😠 I wish there were 2 options in rating Edmonds: the gym and the pool. I haven't been to either since precovid, but when I went today (gym) I was disgusted. The staff were very nice though.
