I was looking for a quality Taekwondo gym after DT Lim moved out of Vancouver to Surrey for a bigger space. DT Lim was a great place that my daughter trained at for years and represented in tournaments. I was looking for a gym with similar values because driving to Surrey from Vancouver was too far. Found SC Kims. We did a try out along with another gym and found that this was a great place to learn Taekwondo.Their values and teachings were what I was looking for. Instructors are great and knowledgeable showing proper techniques with kicking and strikes. My son, who's 12, been going there for years and loves it. He goes 3 to 4 times a week. Highly recommend this gym for those interested in learning Taekwondo.

SC Kim’s Taekwondo is awesome! The instructors are so great with the kids. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. It’s a great martial arts school to learn while having a lot of fun, with a community that feels like family.

THIS PLACE DELIVERS! Unlike many places for which the Google stars do not line up with the actual experience, this deserves 5 stars. From initial communication via email with Master Lee (owner of the school), to dealing daily with his teachers (Master KIM and Master LEE), this has been an amazing experience for my daughter. The teachers are kind and yet hold the kids accountable for their actions (or lack thereof). I did not put my kid here to be a fighter, rather to respect the art, establish discipline and structure and so far, all is well. Thanks!

my son has practiced Taekwondo wit SC KIM for two years, and he loves it! Even during COVID, the classes running safe. The instructors are amazing!

This is the second time my child tries Taekwondo. The first experience was not so good, maybe because she was a bit young back then. But this time, I was surprised when she said Taekwondo brings her joy and she really likes to practice it. Coaches are very nice, welcoming and patient. Though the facility needs some upgrade.

This dojang is a good place to train for anyone interested in learning Taekwondo in the Metrotown area. The staffs are friendly and professional, the class is 45 minutes each and has a well balanced blend of conditioning, technique drill, and forms. But the main reason I chose this place is that they have a robust adult program. I am really enjoying my experience there.

My boys join the class about 3 weeks ago and they love the instructors and environment. They have lots of fun while learning and building martial art techniques. Both Master Som and Master Lee are excellent. They make my boys feel welcome each time we go there. I strongly recommend SC Kim's Taekwondo to my friends.

It is the best Taekwondo Place in Burnaby!! I've been here for four years and it has been amazing!! I have made so many friends here and I always see so many new people join! The Masters are super nice and very encouraging. OVR 5/5

I like the class so far. The masters are friendly. The place is in a shaddy spot so it's not too sunny. The classroom, the floor, the washroom feels clean. Honestly, I wonder if the masters can perform the crazy cool flips and kicks like in those Taekwondo clips. It will give me a lot of motivations if they can perform that. Also I think it will be great if they can teach me how to forward roll or cartwheel or stuff like that.

The location is little far from my place but I do not regret starting my kids taekwondo at SCKim taekwondo. Master Lee and Master Som are extremely good with kids. My kids love going to taekwondo and meeting the Masters. They have diverse classes with kicking and sparring. Masters are super understanding and warmhearted. SCKim himself is official Olympic referee and Master Lee has poomsae refree license. So I think this is a place to go if you really want to learn authentic Korean Taekwondo. It’s been almost two years since my kids started taekwondo and I highly recommend!!

This is my first experience doing any type of martial arts, it was intimidating at first trying to pick a place. My friend and I spent lots of time calling around and asking questions about different programs. I’m glad we decided to try out Kim’s since it was very welcoming and all the teachers are very kind and encouraging. I was surprised at how much i learnt from just the first few classes and I started looking forward to class every week. They provide a positive learning environment and are always encouraging you to go farther every class. I would recommend Kim’s taekwondo to anyone looking for a place to start training.
