What can I say! Lived in the village for 30+ yrs and never been, until last night. I could never understand why such an "expensive" restaurant was always so busy. Well, now I know. Excellent food, attentive staff, a good wine and beer selection and certainly "not expensive". We had the Evening Special 3 Course, my main was the 32oz mixed grill, certainly the best cooked and biggest mixed grill I've ever had, anywhere. No pressure to leave at all and we were some of the last there. We'll certainly be going back, we just need to find a good slot for us all. 5/5 Thanks Bex and Steve for the invite and your guidance through the menu.

Had a lovely family Sunday lunch. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was great. Portions are large but it isn't quantity over quality as all courses were well made. Definitely worth a trip if you are looking for a nice 3 course Sunday lunch.

Wonderful food and service in a beautiful place. Owners Mr and Mrs Philippou and their team are supremely good hosts. The quality of the chops, steak and even sausage in the mixed grill is just stunning. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Every one of 5 stars fully deserved

Came for Sunday lunch with 4 other people. Absolutely brilliant meal. Fantastic value for 3 courses and a large amount of choice especially for both starters and mains. I went for Yorkshire pudding starter and roast lamb. Everything was amazing, tasted fresh rather than frozen like a lot of places. Choice of veg and roast potatoes all came out smelling and tasting delicious and nicely seasoned. All the staff were very polite and professional and only too keen to help. Special thanks to Costas for helping us out as two of our party were vegan/vegetarian and he was only too happy to make sure they enjoyed their experience. Will definitely be coming again!

Fantastic restaurant. Superb service and quality food. The menu and food presentation could be perceived as a little outdated but its the substance that counts. All our courses were Perfectly cooked and hot. This place is the only venue we have eaten at in our locality for such a long time that I would be really happy to go back to or recommend.

Called for Sunday lunch,Absolutely outstanding,Some unusual starters and mains,Everything was full of flavour and huge portions,We couldn’t manage the puds so staff gave us them to take home,The smartly dressed staff were exceptional.The ambiance in the restaurant was high class ,I love a crisp white table cloth.3 courses for under £30 for 5 star food,we will be back.

Very disappointed Sunday lunch. The vegetables had a very unusual taste and we found that cinnamon had been used for flavouring and dominated the dinner. The roast potatoes were terrible. Sunday lunch should be traditional. Will not be returning!

Our first time here, which was to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful. The service was fantastic and the food was incredible. We will certainly be visiting again!

Ate here for the first time and it was absolutely brilliant. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Service was spot on (friendly but not fussy) and there was simply no rush all night. Food was excellent and portions and pricing were superb. Really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend and will return.

Excellent food and service! Big portions, all dishes tasted good and the 3-course set menu is really good value for money! The waiting staff were all very attentive and the courses were served quickly!

14 of us went to the Venus on 22nd Oct 22 for my wifes 60th. Had a fantastic evening of superb food excellent service and lovely surroundings.Our only downside it is a long way from our home in Adelaide.Would highly recommend this venue thankyou so much.

The food was delicious but a bit dry and service was decently quick. The restaurant was understaffed when I went so likely would be better if it was fully staffed. The atmosphere was excellent and the building was historical so it was fabulous inside with a cosy atmosphere and very festive. The toilets are clean but small however a bit difficult to access if you are older. The starters are outstanding and the mains fell somewhat short. The drinks were good and with a great range.

This place never fails to impress. Food is very good and plentiful. Service is always excellent and very friendly staff.

Food fabulous, staff lovely and professional. Place traditional and comfortable. Steaks out of this world. Good drinks selection. 😀😀
