Wow- this place is amazing. We stopped for lunch and were so happy we did. The food was delicious and my fried chicken sandwich was the best I have ever had. My husband had the roasted beet and trout salad. The ambiance is lovely, and we will definitely look into staying at the Lone Mountain Ranch on our next visit. Karen, our waitress, was very attentive, and John Allen, the ranch ambassador, was charming and a delight to talk to. Worth a visit for sure!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Horn and Cantle, and overall, it was a mixed experience for me. The ambiance of the place was definitely one of the highlights, as it had a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The rustic décor, warm lighting, and comfortable seating all contributed to a cozy and enjoyable environment. The drink selection at Horn and Cantle was impressive. They offered a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including craft cocktails and a decent variety of wines. I found the drinks to be well-crafted and satisfying, which added to the positive aspects of the dining experience. However, when it came to the food, I must admit I was a bit disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy the dishes at Horn and Cantle, but unfortunately, they fell short of my expectations. While the presentation was appealing, the flavor and execution of the dishes were just average. The menu did offer some unique and interesting options, but the taste didn't deliver the same level of excitement. It left me craving for more depth and creativity in the flavors. On the bright side, I must commend the wait staff at Horn and Cantle who were attentive, friendly, and accommodating throughout the dining experience. Their helpful and professional demeanor added a positive touch to the evening. In conclusion, although the atmosphere was very nice and the drinks were enjoyable, I must admit that the food at Horn and Cantle failed to impress me. While it's possible that my experience may not be representative of the restaurant as a whole, I personally would not go back solely based on the dining experience I had. However, if you're simply looking for a place to grab drinks and enjoy the ambiance, Horn and Cantle might still be worth considering.

Delightful food and ambiance. Our server - Joel, I think - was fantastic. Bar staff was pretty rude. Overall a great meal. We ordered the tomahawk, some elk meat balls, white fish dip, and two other bison steaks. The meal came out hot and delicious. Dessert was OK, nothing crazy.

The good: nearly everything was perfect during our meal. Only the risotto lacked a touch of salt. The rest of the meal was worth the drive and walk. I would love to see a bit more lighting to enjoy the lovely plating. The place is clean, picturesque and quite inviting. The bad: with the parking lot next to the stables...the barnyard smells take a bit away from an otherwise perfect experience.

Horn and Cantle is likely the finest restaurant in Big Sky. If you can get in – and getting a reservation is not easy – it is a must visit for high-end local cuisine. It is fancy without being pretentious, striking the right balance between exclusive chic and comfortable warmth. A generously sized and lively bar accompanies the main restaurant. And the bar is a great option for those who can’t get reservations in the main dining area. Tables are first come / first served and will require some waiting around the bar for something to open – but that is part of the fun and is exactly what we did with a large group. The bar had live music and a great vibe. It took about an hour for something to open, at which time we had the option of ordering from the bar or main dining room. Our group ordered a combination of bison short ribs and Tomahawk rib eye steaks. Everything was delicious – the steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection and the bison was tender and flavorful. The only drawback is that portions are very small for the prices – and I say that as a New Yorker, where everything is expensive. The steak is priced at $245 and feeds two (maybe). The “double” bison short rib at $74 is really portioned for one. Wine options are good with reasonable mark-ups

Put it on your list!! The lunch buffet looked simple, but the flavors proved it was way more. We stopped for a Saturday lunch and really enjoyed their tri tip steak, poached shrimp, seasoned cauliflower, and guacamole dip. The cupcake dessert was dense with a light cream cheese frosting that was the perfect ending to our meal and one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. They also offered some kid friendly options with a pepperoni pizza, chicken tenders, and roast beef sub sandwich. All went really well with their homemade, unique cocktails.

We had the most amazing experience at Horn and Cantle. The manager Debbie, is the best host I've ever met. She treated us like VIPs and made sure we are well taken care of. We had the buffet lunch, it was well worth it! The food was incredible! The chef also came to greet us. What a beautiful spot and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

This place is a must-go for anyone in the area. It’s a phenomenal dining experience. It’s definitely more bougie than what we are used to when it comes to ranches, we prefer it to be more rustic, but the food was delicious and the service was flawless. Joel served us and he was great. It was pricey for what we got but I’d still say it was worth it.

Great place to eat, would recommend. They had some interesting options on the menu including Elk meatball and bison short rib. The food had great taste, and the rustic vibe of the building was off the charts! However, the lighting in the building was a little too low, I could barely see my meal. Only drawback is that drinks and meal options are a little pricy, keep that in mind when coming here.

Go early and grab a drink at the awesome bar. Our server, Amy, was outstanding! She made us feel special on our anniversary and gave great food recommendations. The bison and salmon were superb. Elk meatball appetizer was delicious. Can’t wait to come again on our next trip!
