We (Couple with infant) booked this place looking at the star ratings of this place. Honestly, the ambience is way too good - just like the reviews. However before making any reservations please be mindful of the following - 1. This is an overrated homestay with prices of a 4-star hotel. We ordered for a chilli cheese toast (Listed at Rs.200) and what we got was two slices of ordinary bread with little grated cheddar cheese and lots of chillies - my point is this is not to expect from a Rs.200 priced dish at a homestay! 2. 80% of the listed items on menu are not available and yes all food orders are served on prior reservation only! For lunch you have to order by 12-12:30pm and for dinner by 5-5:30pm 3. Breakfast spread would be better at the nearby A2B (Adyar Ananda Bhawan) - for two mornings we were served with Idly, chutney, sambhar, toast, eggs. The staff - Krishna is really good at preparation of the food but a decent spread can be expected from this place. 4. Rooms are spacious but have broken wooden flooring which is quite different from the pictures shown. 5. Fireplaces are non-operational due to some silly reason - smoke gets into the room - then why are the fireplaces for? I have been to other homestays where they provide a fireplace. 6. The place gives you a spooky feeling after sunset as there are no bonfires, activities or anything to do here - we walked down to Savoy (2 mins. walk from this place) to enjoy the bonfire and dinner. Overall, I would not recommend paying anything more than Rs.2500/- for this place else it is a sheer waste of money. There are better places in Ooty to stay at the price they quote. An important recommendation to the owner - This is a really nice well kept property, please put in some real dedicated efforts to liven up this place - refurbishment of rooms, linen, carpets, toiletries plus training the staff to be customer friendly are just some of the areas to focus on. The cafe ambience is good but doesn't have food! Making it a fully operational one will help this place a lot! This place lacks the owner's touch - I hope you would understand this. Would love to see this property transform!

I was initially confused to see a mix of paid reviews in Google map on Lymond and convinced myself to go with Agoda booking. Honestly I would say property scores in car parking, family friendly, room, bathroom hygiene, bedspread, bedsheet, linen, pillow, location and greenery exteriors. It is a vintage building and don't expect modern furnishings. Complimentary breakfast you get bread toast, Idly or Dosa, Pan cake or 1 item, Omelette and Tea/Coffee. Options are limited but I didn't find quality issues. Bottom-line: A good vintage property for family or honey moon coupler that could be tried and could easily meet your expectations. I had my dinner in Magnolia restaurant and it was average.

More than a century old heritage property run by some polite, courteous and efficient staff members. Big, spacious rooms, peaceful and tranquil environment and at a decent location as well. I feel one does get value for the money invested. I can duly recommend.

Lovely property. Full of old world charm. Set in its own grounds with a lovely Garden, this 6 Suite property is very comfortable, is perfectly located and reasonably priced. The staff are very helpful and the food is great. The rooms are warm, cosy and comfortable. Proper old Colonial Bungalow Style. The Perfect Getaway Place in Ooty.

Well-maintained heritage property with a very convenient location for travellers. Very courteous & accommodating staff who make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Especially the manager Maac who's very friendly and full of tips on things to do in and around Ooty. The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and well equipped. If you are a bigger group of friends or a large family you can get the rooms that are inter-connected. The lovely lawn has 5G and Wi-Fi which makes working from here very convenient. Overall really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be returning!

When we requested an extra bed over the phone, they initially responded like, 'We usually don't provide one.' However, later they agreed. Nevertheless, on their website, it was available for an additional cost. We paid Rs. 1250 per day for an extra bed in addition to the Rs. 5000 per day room charge. Unfortunately, we ended up with an uncomfortable rope bed that caused backaches. We had informed them of our 11 am check-in, but upon arrival, they claimed it was early, even though most rooms were unoccupied. They charged an additional Rs. 500 per day for a basic heater. The floorboard was squeaky and had holes in it. The toilet flush was not working, and they fixed it in the evening after we requested it; they could have checked it before our check-in or provided a better room from the start. During checkout, they initially added a breakfast charge for the extra person, but after we pointed out it was included in the extra bed fee, they removed it. We could have stayed at a better place with better service at the cost of Rs. 6750 per day. The only plus is their vintage-style buildings and the environment surrounding them, and the manager recommended a few places.

I request for a dosa for my 2 year old daughter in the morning , they told they don’t have. Later I order breakfast for my kid and father since he wants to take medicine. They were having breakfast in the lawn and the manager started shouting at us and asked to move from that place immediately . It was so insulting for us. He didn’t even had the courtesy to wait till they eat/ advise us politely that eating outside food is allowed and my family felt very bad and stopped eating. He treated us as if we committed a greatest crime in the world. He is very money minded and he will treat well on the scale of money you throw at him. They will loot money for each and everything. Better to stay nearby good hotel than this ….. they don’t allow our own drivers inside hotels and treat them very bad. @ note to the owner you have very good property but not the manager.
