Pros : 1- The Terminal is connected from train station - about 7 mins walking distance and around 1 min walking distance to the ferry terminal. BUT from train station, the journey inside the tunnel is quite uphill ye.. which is not very suitable for old folks. 2- The terminal open 24h and the tunnel to the train station is also open 24h. 3- Locker for bags/luggage at level 2- Big locker RM 30 for 12 hours. 4- Last ferry trip is at 11.30pm. Cons : 1- The terminal ONLY HAVE 4 plug points for charging purpose, i had to stay at the terminal, transit 1 night b4 heading to kl and there is no plug point to charge my phone except that 4 plug point which off course always full. They cover all the plug point at the wall. Ridiculous. Oi management kedekut sgt nk bg org charge kenapa, ingat 4 lubang plug tu cukup?? 2- Shops closed around 11pm. There is 1 restaurant that open until past midnight during my stay there. There a few vending machines available at level 1. 3- There is no shower facilities in the terminal. 4. And there are more than 20 claw machines but still no plug point! 5. At midnight, it was quite hot bcz I think they shut down the aircond and that huge fan ,except in waiting area. Its A TRANSPORTATION HUB, but not user friendly at all.
Penang Sentral is a large hub for various public transportation services, including the Ferry, KTM, and Rapid transit. However, some areas were closed, possibly due to low foot traffic. Certain parts of the building felt dim, cold, and empty, which detracted from the overall experience.
Easy to navigate in the Sentral for bus, taxi & ferry. For transportation by Grab to and fro, message your driver to just pick you up at Level 3. Easier and less headache. Overall, good place !
If accept cash only better to take out this announcement then customers can prepare for bring cash. Also, ticketing staff was so rude, we just asked why cannot accept e-wallet whereas on that board there is cashless information but her answer is so annoying, I think they need more to be trained to be polite with customers.
You have never been to Penang unless you have been to Penang Hills 🤭 and I have been to Penang for a short trip but will come again soon and explore more cz I really like this place and the CAT service too.
Penang Sentral is a really convenient building to connect almost everything together including e-Hailing pick up and drop off point, bus station, train station, ferry, stalls, restaurants and also store selling personal care and household items. It also has air-conditioning in certain parts so it's really good when it comes to hot weathers.
Nice air-conditioning place. Very comfortable. Many restaurants. Go to second floor out door near 4 fingers chicken take panorama view picture.nice bus station too.
A large transportation hub with train, bus, and ferry connections. Plenty of food options and a few retail stores. There's even clothing for sale in the lobby. When you enter the main entrance take a left and across from the Subway shop is a quiet area with comfortable seating to kill some time. For a Grab pickup take a right inside the entrance doors, down a hallway and to the right is an elevator which will take you to level 8 for your ride. Downstairs are several restaurants. To the left end is the bus station and in the middle is the entrance for the ferry or train station. (Ferry straight ahead, train to the left). If you don't have a touch and go card consider getting one. You can pay for all your fares using it. I used this station several times with no issues. Very organized and efficient.
