Go here for sunrise for the incredible views and the chance for low clouds but make sure you incorporate at least 15 minutes to hike up to the viewpoint. Once you park, hop over the low lying chain on the wide dirt path and walk up, turning left at the fork where the picnic tables and white building are to the right.

Amazing spot on top of hill with magnificent view on all highest leaks of Madeira. Best sunset and sunrise spot with clouds in the valleys. Perfect. U just park your car 400m from the view and 5 minutes walk ad you are there. Amazing. It was not so turisty either.

Worth of visit! We arrived the viewpoint and couldn't see anything, but we decided to wait a while and after half an hour, we had amazing views to highest peaks of Madeira. Spent there almost an hour, and saw only 4 persons. Very peaceful place.

Great viewpoint with a short walk there in 10-15 minutes. Had nice fog and cloud formation. At the top there is a bench with a table to rest and a wonderful view when it is not cloudy.

Amazing views, especially mind blowing sunsets and sunrises. May be cold and windy; even 15/20°C colder than in south coast. It’s also possible that the clouds will spoil the view. At the top there’s a free parking spot. One of many Madeiras must-see.

Great place to watch the sunrise. By car to the parking lot next to the road, then another 10 minutes on foot and you appear above the fog, a really nice experience! Unfortunately it's also possible that you're in a cloud, so it's best to try again the next day :)

Wonderful view above the clouds. If mountain is in the cloud you can't see anything but heavy mist. We went here twice. Both visits were nice experience. Recommended to visit here late afternoon, if is clear day.

Very nice viewpoint above the clouds. Unfortunately we had a lot of them, which is why the view was limited. However, there wasn't much going on and it was easy to park on the street. Also a nice park/forest nearby

I’d highly recommend coming here to see the sunset, a minimal walk uphill from the car park and a easy to follow path will lead you to a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise, allow for 10-15 minutes for the walk before the sun comes up. Views are amazing and super worth seeing and being in the clouds and if you’re up for it the fanal forest is only a 15 minute drive away and good to visit afterwards to avoid crowds.

I highly recommend coming here on a day with nice weather. You can enjoy the mystic feel of clouds raising above you and making the nearby mountains and wind turbines disappear and appear. It’s roughly a 10 minute easy walk from the nearby parking spot.

Amazing view. We parked in the (very cloudy) parking area and walked up the relatively steady hill to the picnic area and viewpoint. The cloud persisted but then began to drop below us over the viewpoint. So even if the carpark is cloudy, it could be worth persevering!

One of the best viewing points in the Midlands! From here you can see the highest mountains and when clouds pass through the mountains, it is a fantastic spectacle. There are also toilets down at the campsite.

Wonderful vantage point in the plateau and a great starting point for drone flights! You fly above the clouds that slowly move over the mountain ridges... From a height you can see the sea, while on the other side there is a wind farm.

Amazing view of São Vicente valley. Well worth a visit! Gets rather windy as the presence of turbines would suggest.

Wonderful views! In October we had bad weather and couldn’t see what other posted here. But still worth the small hike ♥️! It’s cold so be prepared

10mins of hiking from Carpark (search Bica da Cana Pinnacle) to the viewpoint. It’s extremely beautiful here. Great place for sunset in Madeira.

If you want to see the sunrise, you need to arrive at least half an hour in advance. There were a lot of cars, we had to leave them on the road since the parking lot was already full and walk to the top. And it’s better to go on a cloudy day, then there will be beautiful clouds

Great view, no more the a 10 minute uphill walk. Go early as clouds can obscure the views.

Its a decent viewpoint, not great compared to the views Ive had on this island so far. A bit of fog ruins it. Its a steep walk from the parking place (3 spots) but i wouldnt call it a hike.

What an amazing viewing place over the clouds. Will never forget the scenery

Just wow. An amazing spot and views. Love this place. We came late afternoon and no one was there.

Well hidden Madeira’s treasure. Definitely do not omit this place. Entrance is via road closed by chain. When you reach abandon Casa, go to the left via dusty road. It’s 10-15 minutes only.

Short walk from a parking in a curve for an astonishing view. Very likely clouds going to crawl into the valley.

We went on a bright sunny day in July and the view was really good.. not many people visit this place so it will be quiet and the mountain drive was good. There is a small parking lot nearby and we need to walk for 15 minutes to the viewpoint
