The food mimicked the American style so not very authentic but if you miss America, this is the place to be. The scene was very nice and it’s a little different from the typical Vietnamese coffee shop around there. I think it was too early for some staff members at the time we were there but they weren’t very welcoming. They took our order, left, came back with the order and that was the end of it until we ask for the check. Or perhaps they thought we were Americans and was not comfortable speaking to us I don’t know but we did speak Vietnamese so I am not sure but overall I’d come back again just for the view and my heart shape coffee.

Came here for breakfast. Food was well executed, especially the eggs benedict! They have a pretty good selection of coffee drinks. Hot cafe latte was a little on the milky side, would have loved for a stronger coffee taste. Americano tasted great though! The cold brew latte was pretty nice with a syrup served on the side. Do give this place a go, not just for the drinks.

Haven’t been back here for awhile, still a great place for coffee and food since they first opened👌🏻 Quite amazed by the V60 pour-over, complex flavor yet so smooth ☕️ One of a must-go place for coffee lovers when in HCMC. Not to mention the location is really good, right in D1, walking distance from Nguyen Hue street, high up from the ground so you can enjoy prime street view😉

Tried the circus cold brew. Reading the menu thought there would be circus syrup. When it’s served it’s purely the cold brew. Asked the staff they mention the cold brew was brewed with the circus in. The taste of the circus is within the cold brew itself. It’s not the sour type, but the refreshing feeling. Served with too much ice though. The bacon croissant is good. Bacon at the most inner layer of the croissant. A difficult place to find, small entrance and need to go up for 3 level of stairs. Worth finding and travelling to!

If you’re staying in D1 and want a nice coffee experience during your trip to HCMC this is a great place to go. Lots of different coffee options and the menu is always changing. There are a bunch of stairs to go up but for being in the top floor of an old building, once you’re inside the temperature is great. The food options are also very good and never disappoint. The price is also a good deal considering the quality of the food and the location. Took my family here on their visit to Vietnam and they still talk about this place.

As ppl saying it’s truly Top place to study/work. Location is right in the city center. Spacious, light area huge windows, very airy. You can spend hours here. I had egg benedict, it was nice. I’d say it’s not a spot for having a meal. Come here for inspiration to be more productive:)

Guys make good V60 with local coffee blend. Worth tasting 👌🏻 Pancakes were also amazingly tender. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Love the stairs, they look like they remember the feet of Francis Drake or any other great pirate 🏴‍☠️

So glad to have returned here after first discovering Workshop coffee back in 2018. Love the spacious lofty feel of the building. The coffee here is still amazing. I’ve been to 100s of cafes in SEA and these guys do their milk foam so good I’d rate it in the top 5, in not top 3 I’ve ever tried. Flat white and lattes are fantastic. Also had the eggs Benedict. Very good.

I have been wanting to go to this place and working there was pretty productive although it gets quite crowded still the working busy ambiance makes you work. They have a lot of seating capacity with sockets available for laptop charging. The food is amazing though! Coffee was also good. Service is commendable. Would recommend if you are not bothered with too much people working in a coffee shop!

Brilliant cafe. I had the best breakfast here in the entire Ho Chi Minh City. Wonderful made to order cooked breakfast, the sour dough bread is simply wow. Coffee was also very nice. Recommended….!

This place was outstanding. Situated on the 3rd floor and would have been hard to find if not for the man sitting outside directing us where to go. Great atmosphere full of mostly younger crowd and backpackers working on laptops. The baristas were constantly concocting delicious caffeinated beverages with every gadget imaginable. The food was cooked to perfection and the experience was about as perfect as we could have hoped for. Would highly recommend stopping in here to get your day started off right.

We had the Full English and Eggs Benedict. The Full English was pretty good, as was the Eggs Benedict but the asparagus on the latter hadn't been trimmed so they were stringy and we had to set them aside. Minor issue but I'd expect more considering the price. Beautiful cafe latte, but few options for non-coffee (yes I know it's a coffee shop!) so our teenage daughter just had water. They didn't do added flavours etc for coffee. All in all it was ok.

Great place to sit down and work with a laptop. They don't have plant-based milk for lattes, only dairy. I ordered the cold brew tea without sugar and it was perfect, not a touch of added sweetness. Wifi is fast and ambiance pleasant. Apart from plain teas, there's not much for a vegan. You can bring your own plant milk.

This place is really nice, going upstairs on that building with an old european style it's already the begging of the experience. When you get there the ambient is nice and chill, everything looks great. Coffee barista was perfect. I had a cold pressed juice that was good as well. I ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon but bacon was not good, couldn't eat it. The chairs and not too comfortable if you're planning to do some remote work. Nice place you have to visit if you like good coffee 👌

Delicious brunch options! I tried the carbonara (5/5 - rich, creamy, flavorful), croissant and eggs (4.5/5 - side salad could’ve been a little better), Caesar salad (4/5 - not enough dressing but we asked for extra. Wish it had a bit more anchovy or a punch from a squeeze of lemon) , and hot chocolate (4.5/5 - delicious, dark, not too sweet hot cocoa). Will absolutely be returning to try their coffee and other brunch items.

It was great time to have a coffee here. And wanna say "thanks a lot" to one of my co-workers who recommended to come this awsome place ever. As for the another coworker who loves coffee, he want to buy some beans before getting back to korea. So do i♡

The whole experience was quite satisfying. Imo, it was quite hard to find the building, and the stairs were really old too. However, the coffee shop has pretty nice view and looks aesthetic. I really enjoyed the drink, but the pasta came out way too creamy (it’s a green-ish dish, i dont remember what it’s called). The price was high tbh, but it seems like we can sit there as long as we want :)))

Best English breakfast I've had in Vietnam, huge selection of coffee (all delicious) and very polite and attentive staff. Entrance is quite hidden, you have to go into the rather intimidating looking doorway with "27" written above it!

Nice place! Food was plain though. Had the grilled vegetables feta cheese sandwich, hardly any feta and the taste just uneventful. Fries were okay, but nothing special. My boyfriend loves the coffee here though and it’s really nice place to sit. Come here if you’re coffee lover and want a nice place to sit/study. Are you a die hard food lover? So many other nice places for lunch in Saigon. Enjoy! 🍽 Grilled vegetables feta cheese sandwich 💰125K 🙋🏼‍♀️follow @foooooodsaigon on Instagram for more food reviews

Price is higher than average, and the location / vibes is good with nice music. Food taste good. Ordered the smoke salmon brekkie at 180K and the flat white. Location is slightly harder to find as you need to climb the stairs to the highest level. Would recommend eating the local food & having local coffee given the same price. Total damage to wallet is 265K for a coffee and a main.. ouch.

The Workshop Coffee is a very good choice to work in Ho Chi Minh. The cafe has a spacious and modern interior, with plenty of tables and power outlets. You can see a lot of people working on their laptops here, creating a productive and creative atmosphere. The wifi is fast and reliable. The coffee is delicious and varied, with options ranging from espresso to cold brew to Vietnamese drip. They also have a wide selection of teas, juices, and smoothies. The food is tasty and satisfying, with dishes such as sandwiches, salads, pasta, and burgers. I tried the creamy chicken risotto with peas and it was delicious. I highly recommend The Workshop Coffee for anyone who works on their laptops and enjoys good coffee and food. It is one of the best cafes in Ho Chi Minh, and I will definitely come back again.

Yummy Egg Bennedict, crunchy bacon and tasty sauce. We ordered one dish to share with added bacon and mushroom as in photo, enough to feed two of us. Salted coffee was really good, creamy and not too sweet. We got the table by the window with good view down Dong Khoi street at the crossroad which was really nice. Windows were opened early in the morning then closed around 8:30am so they could put the AC on. The place gets busier later in the morning, many tourists. Has their own toilet outside right on the right of the stairs when you go up. Just prepared yourself to walk upstairs a few floors.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super working environment , tasty coffee and good food. Been visiting “The Workshop” since around 2017, for sure , the service has continued to improve and so has the quality of food and drinks. Located at the top of a building in the Old Center of Saigon , a very enjoyable walk up to the top of the building. The coffee shop/ restaurant has an impressive size open space for working, sitting or relaxing. The tables are very big . Not to keen on the chairs though. Enjoy

A must visit if you like your coffee. Very knowledgeable baristas and a wide range of coffee selections. The design is industrial cool and the food menu looks good too. Service is impeccable. One thing I noticed: it can get a bit warm at times, 2-3 degrees less would make a big difference.

I’ve tried a couple, but so far Workshop had the best coffee for me in Saigon. You can choose from the traditional espresso experience or the more craft-like brewing options where you unlock differently roasted (medium and light roast, washed method) beans to level up on the taste. I like the light roast, fruity coffees made with an espresso machine, unfortunately the specialty coffees can only be selected for V60, French press and other brewing except one, the specialty lungo, but that’s a bit too watery for me. Anyway, that was still the closest I could get to a light brew specialty flat white, and it was great. They also have amazing sweet bits.

great spot for coffee and brunch these guys are slightly hidden away.. you gotta find the dark doorway entrance leading to a stairwell... head on up a few flights of stairs and youll find it! (there IS a small sign out the entrance of the doorway to indicate that ur in the right area) coffee is great. the lemon ricotta pancakes is a must! delicious.

They don't allow outside food in so I didn't order since it was on the pricier end, but their flat white changed my mind about coffee. I guess I've just had bad coffee up until now, because I bought two bags of their sourced beans. They know their stuff and are extremely helpful. Not a fan of the orange cold brew though, too acidic for my taste.

Really cool space, with solid coffee (but not amazing). I got some kind of banana peanut butter latte, it was decent but the coffee wasn’t incredible and all the flavor was at the bottom. The breakfast was similarly solid, but nothing too special. Still, it’s a really nice space with a good vibe and good service

I really loved the vibe to do some work at the workshop coffee cafe, as a lot of people are working here as well. The staff was a bit inattentive, so I had some troubles to get the attention of someone, as I have noticed the same issues with other guests. The food is rather expensive, so keep that in mind!

Such a nice little hidden gem! The many stairs you have to climb to get there are worth it, I promise :). I'm a bit of a coffee snob and was impressed with the cappuccino I had here. They have a nice selection of food as well - I had the smoked salmon with sourdough and it was delicious. Service was good and quick. The big open space with lots of natural light is a huge plus too. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

We really enjoy the coffee here. They also carry oatmilk for those who can't do dairy. There's a lot of stairs though, and there's no elevator. It's a nice place to enjoy coffee and just perch to watch people. It gets really busy though, so go early if you want a seat by the window.

  • 5/5 Florence Y. 5 months ago on Google

Climbed up creaky stairs for a great coffee place! Found a decent place to have lunch while do some work! It had high tables, power sockets and free wifi. Ordered a grilled chicken salad (140k VND) and flat white (85k). Both were very good. Cafe was busy with people working and chilling. Service was pretty fast and they can speak English. Good place to drop by!

Hidden gem of a coffeehouse which has a cool, industrial vibe. After entering in a small inconspicuous entryway and climbing the stairs we found this great place. Loved our cold brew and brunch… highly recommended!

It’s probably one of my favourite cafes to do work at. They have a wide selection of coffee drinks, the flat white is pretty decent and their food is delicious as well. A lot of people are here with their laptops working so it’s pretty “digital nomad-friendly” and the noise level is not too bad considering a lot of people talking and the coffee machines working (coming from someone who likes to work with some background noise so take with a grain of salt). They also play chill music which really elevates the ambiance of the place :)

  • 5/5 Dom - J. 1 year ago on Google
Digital nomad and tourist retreats dream. We spent the afternoon here, while waiting for our night bus and couldnt have picked a better haven. The coffees were great, we enjoyed multiple cappuccinos and mochas, including their delectable cookie and tiramisu. They also serve some small plates, of which we would recommend the bruchetta. Plenty of plugs for charging and free wifi.

  • 3/5 Sean A. 2 years ago on Google
The atmosphere, coffee, and service are all pretty good. The entrance with the old staircase, exposed brick, and 4th wave coffee bar are all aesthetic and nice. But in the 5 times I've come here, there hasn't been a time (no exaggeration) where they weren't sold out of at least 5-6 food items on the menu before noon. So come for the coffee and atmosphere but definitely don't expect an easy breakfast or lunch here unless it's the eggs benedict or cheeseburger with fries (which aren't exceptional). At the very least, have your staff warn the customer before ordering about the missing menu items if it's going to happen so frequently.

  • 3/5 Ulysses G. 3 years ago on Google
Disappointing.... Although the coffee and meal was good, even the environment itself with high-ceiling was great. It was the temperature in the cafe that was uncomfortable. As it was on the highest floor of the building it was hot and sadly, all of the chairs were quite uncomfortable to sit on. In fact, you can go around looking at others and no one was leaning on their chair of fear that they would fall backwards. Place can use a makeover with updated chairs and cooler air-conditioning units. Even with all of this, it was still quite busy for a Sunday afternoon, but just way to hot and uncomfortable to even finish our coffees before having to depart and find another cafe to sit and work in.

  • 5/5 huu-nghia v. 3 years ago on Google
It’s a store on the third floor of a building. Look for the small metal sign hanging in the street. They select beans for their coffee from all over the world. They also have a good snack menu. I like the high ceiling and the open space, they have power plugs available everywhere so it’s a good spot to work on your laptop. The coffee was good, the food i had was good too and the service excellent. Plus it’s in a convenient spot to meet people in D1.

A great coffee place to be in. The architecture of the place gives out an interesting vibe, high roof and wooden table and all. Drinks are so good and food is as nice. My egg benedict was amazing. Calm atmosphere makes it suitable for any kind of activity: working, reading, discussing, little chit-chatting... I love this place.

  • 5/5 Yu Siang T. 4 years ago on Google
Really nice place to work in, with lots of power sockets around. The staff are friendly too and there’s lots of others who are here with their laptop. The coffee and food are slightly pricey, which is fine if you’re here to work as you’re getting more than just food and coffee. The sea bass pasta is really good!

  • 4/5 Jason P. 4 years ago on Google
It's a decent place for non-Vietnamese breakfast. They have American, Spanish, and some other Western dishes here. We ordered the Huevos Egg, Croissant with jam and butter, and their English breakfast. Everything was decent but nothing special. A bit overpriced for the value. They do not serve Vietnamese Coffee here and I think that is a big mistake. All their coffee look very complicated to make but doesn't taste as good as Vietnamese coffee which is funny. Note, you have to climb 3 flight of stairs to get here. Recommend.

  • 4/5 YT N. 1 year ago on Google
I was trying to find the cafe as there doesn’t seem to have any signages outside the building. A kind soul asked me “workshop?” and pointed upwards. The 1st floor doesn’t look like the entrance of a cafe (more like a workshop). The cafe is located at the 3rd floor. Nice interiors with nice latte.

Ordered a pasta dish after watching everyone else wolfing pesto down. Mine was fresh Sea bass. Generous serve, beautiful flavours. Great coffee, wished I’d bought beans to take home, the blend was clean and rich.

One of the most unique speciality coffee cafe in Vietnam. Great ambience with very helpful staffs. They re quite knowledgeable when it comes to sharing about their coffee. Simple aglio olio dish, but it tasted nice. No filter no add-ons. 👍🏼 ordered carbonara too. Wanted to try one of their new dishes - crab spaghetti with garlic, chilli and white wine. But it wasn’t available. Till the next time. They have interesting drip coffee demonstration too. A good cafe to spend your afternoon. Price point - decent ✔️ Portion wise - 3 main dishes sufficient for 5 ladies to share ✔️

A boring, over price, sad faces of servers, hard seats coffee shop in the heart of Saigon is this place! The drinks were definitely not impressive. Coffee was blah in taste and smell, while the milk was also just alright. As you could see, I also didn’t think the baristas enjoyed their shift/work either. Quite some sad/angry faces for a rainy day 😂

  • 4/5 Stel D. 1 year ago on Google
It was hard to locate at first. The cafe is at the top floor of the building - there’s no lift so you have to be ready to climb four flights of stairs. I ordered their flat white and it tasted like the ones in Sydney. It was so smooth. I also had their pancakes and understood why it was their bestseller. I’ve never had a pancake this good. I rated it 4 stars because their chairs are not comfortable and it was very hot inside. Do consider this if you plan to hangout here. It might be cooler at night though.

Beautiful coffee shop at the heart of the city. You can have the Dong Khoi street view from its nice wise window. Good drinks and foods. Meeting room service should be improved. 600k/hour (excl drinks and foods) with projector only, no LCD screen nor sound system is not worth to try. Staff service is also not as good as they used to be. The owner should pay attention on staff training for customer service. Overall, definitely come back to enjoy the coffee and the cakes there.

Cool concept and was always packed with people. The place was quite hidden, need to climb up to the top level. Coffee was good - met my expectation although nothing to shout about l my latte, but still I’d give a good 4/5. The cafe did offers lots of coffee variety and several specialty for coffee enthusiasts, the smell of coffee all around is amazing! Love the vibe here.

A very nice place to hang and chill. The food was pretty good. Limited selection of beans. However the price is reasonable. The food also taste good. Just need to mind the step if you bring kids. It is on the 3rd flood.

Tucked up a few flights of rustic stairs this little hidden gem of a cafe takes its coffee very seriously. You can choose your bean, your grind, and your style (pour over, espresso etc). It's definitely not a cheap option by Vietnam standards but well worth seeking out for any coffee aficionado in the area.

  • 5/5 Kevin P. 1 year ago on Google
The entrance to this place is a little hidden but we had a friendly local who noticed us looking around point us in the right direction so just ask around if you can't find it. The space is really nice and has great vibes, lots of people were working on their laptops inside so good for that too. Coffee was amazing, some of the closest to Australian quality we've had in SEA. Breakfast/brunch was very tasty too. Portions were on the small side though so if you're a big eater make sure to order something larger.

Good vibe for working and talking, crowded but a lot of space. Also in the center of the city, can see the good view too. Coffee are very gooddd, I don't like sweet coffee and then they can separate the sugar syrup for you to put by yourself. Classic bruschetta is very good but for English breakfast is okay.
